  2. Being completely fair about this, this season was also a huge overcorrection from their lack of effort at the deadline last season. They caught a tremendous amount of s%*# last season and that even carried over to this season with good ole Bruce
  3. Wonder what “Undecided’s” innings limit is.
  4. While this is 100% true, it was a much easier call for the Cubs to go all in than the Sox since they have some pretty important players in their walk year. But your overall point stands. There’s no way this starting pitching is remotely equipped for the stretch run.
  5. Wilbur Wood's 8 complete games and 376.2 innings was a bullpen saver in 1972.
  6. You know you’re pitching is in trouble when “undecided” is a regular spot in the rotation!
  7. Let's start with not spotting them 2 runs in the first inning by throwing BP pitches to PCA.
  8. I'm not done yet. I saw the Boston Smith trade coming. I just didn't predict the details, but I figured someone would get him from Getz. It happened. But the Vielma give away plan? This one surprised me. There was just no reason for it.
  9. Frank Beard, ZZ Top's drummer (who didn't have a beard) passed away at 77. I just read that he had stepped away from the band's tour earlier this month due to health issues. Apparently he was in Hospice care when he died.
  10. Vielma had his 17th birthday last week. This is a Tatis - like trade all over again. And, the Rockies just wanted to get rid of Doyle. They needed the roster spot for a couple young players. Someone take him, please. Please. Enter Getz and his crack scouting staff. Just 8 months earlier, give or take, Sox gave Vielma $400,000 to sign. All he did was hit. "We gotta trade this guy. We need an outfielder who can't hit, as long as he's a right-handed hitter. What? What?? You say you need a pitcher, too. No problem, we'll include Mason Adams. But that's it. You can't have any more."
  11. Much easier said than done...but why they keep challenging him instead of treating him like CLE Josh Naylor or prime Jose Ramirez is beyond me.
  12. Could this be why eSports is growing so fast?
  13. To answer one question and to keep it simple if there are three options that statistically Option 1 is correct 45% of the time Option 2 is correct 40% of the time Option 3 is correct 15% of the time It's easy to be correct 45% of the time. Just keep doing option 1. The best managers are those who have a success rate over 45%. They have decide when option 2 or option 3 is better. But it is tempting to want to replace umpire and in game managerial decisions to a computer.
  14. And stop throwing fastballs right down the middle to PCA.
  15. Today

  16. Score some runs. Call up somebody to start the game. Whatever the outcome, the abuse of the bullpen and reluctance to bring up ANYBODY to help them out is just negligent at this point. Thorp, Smith l, even Schultz. This 3 starters and 2 bp games is unsustainable
  17. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a Google notification saying the Sox won 4-3. I didn't know they lost (in another walk-off) until I came to SoxTalk. Sucks, but I'm less concerned about losing to the Cubs than their record against the AL Central. That being said, they really need to win today.
  18. Newcomb vs. Holmes. Unclear if they are calling anyone up to eat some innings today (Thorpe is today’s SP for Charlotte) or if they plan to just go with Urquidy as the bulk guy. Regardless, no pep talk from me today. The Sox’s offense needs to step up big and take some pressure off of a beaten down pitching it. That’s it…that’s the entire plan. Three or four runs won’t be enough, so score early and score often. Let’s fucking go!
  19. I said his max pitches thrown were 75 last start. He’s continued to go up in pitch count each start and I’d expect that to continue until he reaches about 100.
  20. 2 walkoff losses in a row sucks. Find a way to win this afternoon and split the season series and stay up 4 games in the division. Let's start by not giving up 2 home runs in the 1st.
  21. No rest, we have the makeup game against the Braves on Thursday. Next off day is Aug. 27.
  22. Even if he is, he might be our last hope at this point. Running out of viable starters. He’s schedule to start today so hopefully he has another good outing.
  23. Getz should have traded Bonemer. He probably has no place on the roster next year, especially if Roch comes up.
  24. This is starting to sound a bit strange… NBC NewsHayden Panettiere’s ex-boyfriend was at scene when she di...Brian Hickerson, the actor’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, didn’t become visibly emotional until EMS declared Panettiere dead Sunday, according to a police incident report.
