  1. Past hour
  2. We had a 98 wRC+ from July 1st forward. The only real losses since then are Tauchman and Slater who combined for a ~105 wRC+. If we keep Sosa and use our bench guys appropriately from a platoon standpoint, I think will be a little bit stronger than it was last year. To go from average to good will certainly require Murakami to achieve his projections as previously mentioned. The defense being bad is very much a TBD to me. Robert, Colson, & Meidroth should be fine up the middle. Benintendi is terrible in LF but sounds like they are trying to play him substantially less there. Baldwin was awful in multiple spots, but I think he can improve in the outfield more reps. Hill is a tremendous defender and Pereira should be more than solid in a corner. Vargas is a question mark at 3B, but didn’t look terrible to me. I have no idea how Murakami be at 1B, but I’d hope he’s not awful if he could play 3B in Japan. Catcher is a bit of a wild card but hopefully the rule changes help Quero a bit and I think both him and Teel will continue to improve with time. Don’t think it will be a good defensive unit, but not ready to say it will be bottom five or anything like that.
  3. Yeah Lee goes in a deal for some fringe reliever or something. If you’re lucky.
  4. It probably also means that if a dude like this is on waivers, a guy like Korey Lee isn't worth a spit.
  5. Today
  6. Just stop...please. Just stop. 😄 But...but...but weren't the rumors saying the Sox were moving to Nashville? 😉 The Bears Stadium issue is quiet because they have ZERO leverage and until they figure out a way to pay off the Soldier Field debt they aren't getting much sympathy from the politicians. And they know it. Like it or not their immediate future says they'll be playing in Soldier Field no matter how much they huff and puff or pout about it.
  7. You could mention a few trigger words if you want to breathe new life into this thread.
  8. I think this signals they aren't planning on carrying Teel, Quero, and Lee on the major league roster. Romo is a very good fielder and gives them some catching depth if they lose Lee when they eventually try to sneak him through waivers. Not a bad move by any means, especially if they can get him to hit.
  9. I understand that but Vrabel has done it before in Tennessee so he is more of a known quantity, whereas Johnson truly was new to this
  10. It's still weird that we are hoarding catchers when we refuse to let our catchers do anything other than catch.
  11. I'm speaking to how the right coach can flip the script. I believe he has done that in New England. 3 of top 5 coach of the year candidates are new hires.
  12. Have to think Lee will be traded in early spring for a team that has a injured backup catcher.
  13. He has 2 options remaining, whereas Lee has none so Lee would have to make the team which wouldn’t be an issue if they carried 3 catchers. I don’t think they should though and should still play both Teel and Q every day (though, it doesn’t seem like that will be the case).
  14. Another good move on the margins. Refreshing to finally have some upside guys at the end of the 40 man.
  15. 4 years of control, cheap, cannon arm, decent power. Could be a nice backup catcher for someone.
  16. Thinking the same. Could be either, but only Quero will get any sort of return.
  17. Tanner Murray came in the trade that also netted Everson Pereira for Yoendrys Gomez and Stephen Wilson.
  18. Man, I went and looked at the 40 man roster this morning in preparation for a post and saw that guy on there and also said "who the f*** is Ben Cowles?" Same for Tanner Murray, no idea who that guy is or where he came from. Must have missed that add.
