  2. Chris Getz to speak with the media before today's game 👀
  3. What does he really have in common with Mellody Hobson, though? Besides Chicago ties?
  4. The Bears are 2nd in the NFL in Championships won with 9, the Packers are first with 13. The Bears are also 2nd in games won with 793 victories.
  5. Today
  6. Just guessing, but because he doesn’t want someone to take over that doesn’t view baseball the same way he does. Remember, he thinks he’s the only one who realizes how teams should be owned.
  7. Sure they might have had interest, but why would the Chargers trade him with all that dead money tied up in him? It was never realistic.
  8. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-draft-winners-and-losers-no-excuses-as-bears-have-set-up-caleb-williams-to-be-good-right-away-043544081.html Apparently the Patriots and Vikings both were interested in trading for SD's Herbert...
  9. Zobrist has/had a LOT more pop in his bat...based on what we have seen from Baldwin's collegiate and MiLB career. And it's a bit difficult to judge the level of competition for UNC-Asheville vs. a Power 5 conference.
  10. How sad is it to debate which terrible and/or washed up outfielders should be on the roster?

  13. Don't forget about our owner. He was reminiscing about David Eckstein when he spoke during the Getz press conference. He loves shitty players like that.
  14. Bob Nightingale said that TLR deserved a plaque for managing that team to 93 wins. He may not be wrong.
  15. I’m pleased with the Bears draft even though I thought they would move down. They probably went for quality over quantity this year with Odunze at 9. I had Williams and Odunze in many of my mock drafts but also traded down to select the WR the Jaguars picked and got a second round pick as well. I’m wondering if they can get a decent DT or DE with their remaining picks and if they would surrender a future second and their third to get into the second round. I’m not sure what the Falcons were doing with their pick and think it’s a reach. The same goes for the Titans. The Falcons have some pieces, but could have used another piece to get a better supporting cast around Cousins. Minnesota got better tonight and if McCarthy is a decent quarterback, the NFC North will be competitive for the next few years.

    fresh blood

Tray would filibuster the debates about a new stadium for months on end, never leaving the podium.
  17. I’m presuming they look at draft board and like a bunch of the guys and are just moving down and than will end up taking a few.
  18. Exactly - if Falcons were taking a qb to sit behind Cousins I would have figured they would go JJ and let him sit. He could sit 3 years and be younger than Penix now. I do think Penix is going to be 3rd best qb in draft behind Caleb and JJ.
  19. I was really hoping they took JJ cause I would have preferred Nabers. Overall though I’m a happy camper.
  20. Well summarized. One thing I don't get is why would he care if any of his offspring own the White Sox after he's gone? I keep hearing that, but why would he care what business decisions they make after he's dead? Surely Michael or any other Reinsdorf children are old enough and experienced enough to make their own decision on this. Are there multiple sources and/or interviews to confirm this? Or is this based on one comment he made one time?
  21. He's falling cuz of medicals (foot). I actually do wonder how far he'll slide. JPJ as well.
  22. https://www.milb.com/player/brooks-baldwin-681460 Look at the bigger picture. His career MiLB ops is .791, and that's including his lightning-hot start this year. At best, that would translate to the .725-.750 range at the major league level, but most Sox minor league followers would be likelier to expect him to be somewhere down in the mid to high 600s. As a 3B, he would have to be close to 775-825 to be truly valuable (assuming an MLB "average" defensive ranking there). In his first full pro season, 2023, Baldwin blossomed. His hitting and power took nice jumps, and he saw almost as much time at shortstop as he did third base (also seeing time at second, first, center field and left). His wheels on the bases led to a solid 22 steals and more importantly a 80%+ steal rate. .... Baldwin definitely brings versatility beyond that of his pops, as not only a switch-hitter but a player who’s seen action in college at every position but pitcher and catcher. Strangely, despite never playing a game at third base for the Seahawks and just 10 over two seasons in the Cape Cod League, Baldwin is listed as a third baseman in the MLB draft tracker and by the drafting party — usually an indication that’s how the drafting team sees the player. https://www.southsidesox.com/2024/3/4/24090720/2024-south-side-sox-top-prospect-no-27-brooks-baldwin-university-of-north-carolina-wilmington
