We could have had Cease and ReyLo has an ERA of 1.50 with the Braves as a starter, so we could have had 5 solid starters if we would have held the course.

So basically the Sox are trying to assure another 40-to-50 win season next year. I don't understand modern rebuilding. It's disgraceful.

Sox looking at building in South Loop

The Jacksonville Jaguars' "Stadium of the Future" is a go, as the franchise and city came to an agreement on a $1.4 billion project on Tuesday. The proposal will see each side contribute $625 million to the project and Jacksonville would chip in another $150 million to get EverBank Stadium ready for construction beginning in 2026. The team will also not include any new taxes to pay for the rebuild. Now that the plan was presented to a city council on Tuesday, members are slated to vote on it in June with a majority of 19 members needed to pass. Then, it would advance to the NFL owners meeting in October where they'd need 24 of 32 votes to reach final approval. With construction set to begin after the 2025 season, the Jaguars would play in front of a reduced capacity crowd in 2026 and then host home games in either Gainesville or Orlando in 2027. The updated look of EverBank Stadium was revealed last summer, representing the next step in the team's efforts to transform downtown Jacksonville. The Jaguars plan to make the stadium four times as wide as the current one with interactive social areas and food local to the city. The stadium will include state of the art technology and a shade canopy to reduce heat retention by 70%. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jaguars-city-of-jacksonville-agree-on-1-4-billion-stadium-of-the-future/ -
Is Fedde the guy who pitched overseas last year? Is he good? If he is we got 3 good starters. This team is not that far away from competing if they got 3 good starters. By my count we only got one good reliever though. Kudos to Pedro for not benching Vaughn in game two. Those 2 homers have to help his confidence some. If he'd been benched we woulda got swept and he'd be despondent over his badness in game one. Nice catch by DeJong. Kind of weird we're playing way better without Robert and Moncada. It'd sure help the team if Mendick was healthy.

All TV networks collectively decided to not cast John Gacy in any father roles, so it's probably more like that.
-
You mean how the league collectively refused to sign Trevor Bauer?

Story on Sox trade possibilities...

Fedde’s trade value rising! Would be sweet to get a legit, major league ready OF prospect for him. -
I wonder if Steve would have given up Mena for Fletcher.

It was the Mets. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/12/erick-fedde-nearing-deal-with-unknown-team.html

Crochet's making $800k this year, with 2 years of control left. What could he possibly make in those 2 arbitration years? $4m and $12m? You could buy out those two years for 2 option years of $15 each? Then he enters FA as a 29 year old. If he doesn't make it to the end of the next 2 years, he's probably set for life, anyway, including the buyouts.

Against a LH off of a hanger. That's pure.

Whoever the other team that was bidding against the Sox for Fedde’s services must be really pissed off they didn’t up their offer by a few million.

For a guy with 120 innings to his name? No it’s not.
