  1. 100% agree. There would definitely be teams willing to take him off our hands, we just wouldn't get a ton for him because of the slump.

  2. Trading Abreu now makes no sense. Teams will be looking for a discount. He's been pretty bad, but it's pretty rare a guy falls off a cliff like that in the middle of the season and is suddenly done, without a significant injury. He was raking previously. If I were a GM of another team, if the White Sox wanted to sell him at a discount, I would buy immediately. I think he is due for a bounce back, and if he's in a better line up, those chances do nothing but improve.

  3. It’s scary that this kid is nearly a 3 WAR player right now despite the offensive flaws he came into the league with. He’s going to be fucking stud in a year or two no matter how impatient Tom Longo & the others may be.

  5. Barons announcer just dropped this bomb: the only player in professional baseball with more walks than Zack Collins is Mike Trout ?

  7. That's fine. I'm sure you'll hold yourself to the same standard you expect of others.

  8. I would question the process if a player is ready for MLB and they are held back for financial reasons in 2025. In fact I'd wonder what we are all even doing here. Management included.

  9. Making a decision based on something that is likely to change in the new CBA, and even if it doesn't, will impact the club in 7 years -- seems really stupid imo. It's impossible to predict all that will happen between now and then. If Eloy is ready to come up in August he should come up imo.

  11. With all those choices how can the Royals and Orioles have a record worse than ours? ?‍♂️

  12. Is it really wasting a year of service time though? By the time that time comes around for him to be a free agent, shouldn't the Sox already be competitive? Wouldn't you think he would want to stay and sign an extension? Are we going to do this with all of our prospects? 1 damn year isn't going to make a difference. Bring him up and get the fans excited. Give him a taste of the big leagues. Let him play against the likes of Boston, Cleveland, LA and the Cubs. Let him understand how he needs to prepare in the offseason against Major Leaguers vs Minor Leagues. They should do the same shit with Kopech.

  13. I'm guilty of saying that, but I also remember when Judge, Servino, & Mateo weren't enough either.

  15. by bWAR, which likes their defense a bit more, Moncada and TA are both at 2.1. They easily lead the team. The Sox have a lot of shitty players. Moncada and TA are not even close to that.

  16. He is also one you have to watch to get what his impact looks like. He changes the game just by being in the line up.,

  17. Not a huge fan of Nolan's writing but he's spot on there. Yoan is a player that traditional stats cannot properly measure.

  18. Fantastic news. No matter how you feel our rebuild is going, the division is going to be wide open in a few years and right around when our core in place. Spend some money on a few free agents and if all goes well we should be able to run with it.

  19. Package two of them with Shields, pay all the money, and get something quality back.

  20. Sox already cashed in on this trend and also Hahn doesn't need to take any notes! He already made a package last year. Rutherford is a really good prospect, despite whether or not some of you have soured on him due to last seasons struggles and his current lack of power.

  21. Wouldn't that result in losing a year of team control? If so, I think we see them in early-mid August or not at all this year

  23. Cleveland knows their window isn't long enough for Mejia to make a difference before this team breaks up and that they need to be contenders for a title this year and next year, and Hand helps that tremendously.

  24. Are we able to block posters on the new version of Soxtalk? I think I’ve had more than enough of Tom Longo’s endless Moncada whining.

  25. Seems like they could have gotten more in the offseason IMO, but admittedly I don’t know much about the secondary pieces. Regardless, at least we won’t lose a pick now when we sign him next offseason.

  27. The UK has laws to prevent spoiling trials that he broke repeatedly. He's a white nationalist that did a stunt for white nationalist purposes. Maybe rather than always pleading ignorant of who these people are and what they really stand for, rabbit should educate themselves before defending yet another one. Then again, he's also attacked their murder victims as a "scumbag" and defended asking why there are so many Jews in the media so maybe it's not out of ignorance!
