  1. So, some Twitter blatherers have started a string of "RBI's are meaningful" convos, lately. It got me looking at stats, and we have 3 guys on the precipice of 30 HRs, but nobody has 80 ribs. I remember when Kittle hit 32 in 1984, and he had only 74 RBIs, which caused a hubub, in that he wasn't driving in enough runs, like Kittle did something bad. He hit 215/295/453 with 15 doubles. I don't know where I'm going with this. Gordo said "scissored".
  2. Starting to wake up. I'd like to go to sleep tonight, contemplating a 7-0 win.
  3. What's the matter with Gordo? I mean, he's not especially interesting, but he knows ball, and isn't inane.
  4. Wait a minute!! Burke was throwing a no-hitter, and everyone's grousing? Cut the BS!!
  5. I can't wait until they DFA Benintendi because I hate RBI singles!!!
  6. Tommy Pham will be leading the team in this song every day...
  7. At the TDL, they wanted backup CF defense, and they traded for it. Now on 9/1, they'd like a RH, 28th man, bench bat. Possibly while Ryan Galanie returns to AAA from injury and gets a couple of games under his belt. I wouldn't see targeting that guy at the TDL that you could really just grab off of waivers a month later.
  8. He's not available, either. Austin Slater might be the answer.
  9. He opted out of the Orioles' deal. How did the Phillies drop him like a bad habit? He was starting regularly for them in AAA through this last Sunday. Call it questionable if you want. You don't have to embellish by pretending other teams couldn't dump him fast enough. They signed him to play for them with whatever reputation we perceive him to have. In some cases, he lasted months of the season with those teams.
  10. And for as much of a clubhouse cancer we're making him out to be, the Mets, Cardinals and now White Sox have all had him back, albeit different front offices in some cases, but the institutional knowledge isn't telling them to stay away.
  11. None of those people are available. What's the best solution?
  12. So what is the best possible solution?
  13. Don't try to use that logic? why? Because somebody might disagree with you?!? LOL. Dude, grow a pair. I mean, it's fun making s%*# up. "He's old, and he's broken. He can't even play baseball anymore. We got rid of Hill for nothing." This all leads me to believe that picking up Pham is a great move. I mean, if it wasn't, y'all could just lay out why it isn't without just making things up. By your logic, every player who gets traded is worthless because another team didn't want him. That Juan Soto apparently wasn't good enough for three other teams to keep him. Bum. But seriously, I've never seen a group of grown men kneel down on the ground and weep over such an insignificant move. Maybe Venable sees the team getting distracted in a slump and wants a serious dude to set an example or something. Now go ahead and clown on that, everyone, because "he's old" and "The Mets didn't keep him for this pennant clinching stretch" are such strong arguments.
  14. Hey, another at-bat against a LHP for Antonacci. So he doesn't have to start every single game to get experience against left-handed pitchers. Whoda thunk?
  15. You're just making s%*# up, now.
  16. Every team relies on players like Doyle and Pham.
  17. Teel has to be considered "iffy" until everybody's on hunting trips this December. It's possible Bart is ready before regular season games are done.
  18. Which players can be signed for big bucks right now?
  19. I don't know who said it, but the best way to get the quickest, most accurate answer on the internet is NOT to ask the question, but to confidently state a wrong answer.
