  1. Just the kind of guy the White Sox traditionally fix right up with one hit over 7 innings. Man, some of these rotations of teams that are supposed to be competitive look haggard so early.
  2. Fegan's article about Shane Smith working on things Inside the White Sox's effort to get Shane Smith back to his All-Star form - Sox Machine
  3. We seem to be catching the Orioles in a slow start. Let's keep that going. Blue Jays look ragged after this weekend.
  4. MLBTR chat with Jays' fan moderator: JotCast | MLBTR Live Chat | 4/5/2026 Robbie Baseball 9:28 I know it’s only 9 games into the season, but I’m worried about the Blue Jays - especially based on the teams they’ve played so far. They were something like 2 for 20 this weekend with runners in scoring position. What can they do to turn things around? Mark P 9:31 It's not great when a slow start coincides with my worries about a team --- i.e. that the Jays had no lefty bullpen depth, and they were relying a lot of hitters replicating their 2025 breakouts. When you have mulitple players who are completely ice cold (Barger, Varsho, Springer, Kirk), it's hard to score runs or string any kind of rally together. Not pressing the panic button after nine games or anything, but losing four in a row during this allegedly soft part of the schedule isn't good.
  5. Man, these guys are just snakebit.
  6. Baltimore really hasn't been setting the world on fire with their start to the season. I hope the Sox can keep feeling the momentum.
  7. Tied for the 6th best record in the AL
  8. Maybe Sims or Hicks closes, today?
  9. Steven Wilson was in the trade that brought back Murray and Pereira. Wilson famously came over in the Cease trade.
  10. That Cease trade just keeps on giving.
  11. I think Vientos is a lesser Sosa. Vientos is not a good defender anywhere, really. Vargas is separating himself from that profile.
  12. Getz also traded cash for Tristan Peters, and Steven Wilson & Yoendrys Gomez for Pereira and Tanner Murray.
  13. He probably tried to run "The Canaryville Castro Commet" by HR for a Vargas nickname, and they told him to just stay home.
  14. I really didn't have a problem with Kay. If he could get through 5 against teams like the Blue Jays just giving up a couple, that gets the job done. He was getting hit hard a bunch, tho. If this is who Vargas is, that trade was an absolute steal. Nice series win. The Sox always play the Jays tough, but this is a sweet surprise after that opening week.
  15. Gotta get some runs. You're not going to shut these guys out.
  16. SoxMachine's pregame notes contain a nice explanation of the reasoning behind the opener for the Sox Pregame notes: Openers on both sides - Sox Machine
  17. Pereira and Quero are probably achy, is all. While I think Acuña should get run out in CF every day until Baldwin comes back, I've heard it said that he's probably the best SS on the team.
  18. I went to the final game of 2024. They sold me upper deck tickets to the closed upper deck at the window and told me to sit wherever I wanted. Attendance for that game was around 15.6k, you might get 20k today, yet.
