Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
The picture was already clear that we have preferred to avoid Boras clients in the past, so we’re on the same page there. I even agreed with you on that front in an earlier post But I didn’t believe that meant we were too petty to do business with him this offseason. I truly believed we would sign a Boras client, which is why I felt that discussing the past was pointless.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
You were saying? I wish I could have bet you. It’s actually pretty well known that you were wrong...but perhaps you haven’t seen the news yet. You’re probably still exhausted from how “tiring” it was when people kept posting unreliable sources/rumors that Keuchel had agreed with the Sox.

Keuchel to Sox, 3 years, 55.55 million; 4th year team option
What if the plan is to fill as many holes as possible this offseason to get this team back to competing for the playoffs, and then once you are competitive again, you make the huge signing (Betts) to push you over the top? You’ll probably just say there’s no way they sign Betts (and you might be right), but either way, I think this was a necessary first step to move from 72 wins to a playoff contender.

Keuchel to Sox, 3 years, 55.55 million; 4th year team option
So many people continually claimed that Hahn had zero backup plan after missing on Wheeler. Well, signing Keuchel and Gio is a great backup plan. This is a very solid offseason so far. Lineup vs righties: Robert CF Moncada 3B Abreu 1B Grandal C Eloy LF Mazara RF Anderson SS Collins DH Madrigal 2B Rotation: Giolito Keuchel Lopez Gonzalez Cease

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
You’re a treat. I thought it was pretty clear in my post that the guy was not reliable. Maybe I should have just said that he’s not reliable. Oh wait... Only reason I posted it was because of WSD’s random message last night.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Another random tweet (from somebody NOT reliable) saying Keuchel to the Sox.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
My calculations (which could be wrong) have May 20 as the day for Kopech and April 10 as the day for Robert/Madrigal. I didn’t realize the Charlotte season started on April 9. Now, I didn’t expect the Sox to call up Robert on the very first day after securing the extra year, but it looks like he won’t get much time at all in Charlotte.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I think part of it is also that it’s 9:30 PM on a Friday...and also, it hasn’t been that long since the tweet was posted.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
He’s been boozing all night and he said he literally gets these kind of messages dozens and dozens of times per month.

Moncada Says: Bring on all 162
Thanks for the positive thread, Ray Ray. Good stuff.

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
I gave you an example and you continued to say nobody is giving you an example. I agree with you that extensions like that are very unlikely, but I did give you an example.

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
Paul Goldschmidt...just happened less than a year ago.

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
First off, this isn’t happening. Second, if it was happening, I’d only be interested if it included a Lindor extension.

White Sox sign Gio Gonzalez
Another pitcher off the market. What the hell is Hahn waiting for? Why aren’t we signing any of these guys? Oh wait, he signed with the Sox? Then what are we doing signing this washed up piece of garbage? Sorry, sometimes I get confused on how to fit in around here. (In all seriousness, I love the move. Now go sign Ryu or Keuchel.)

White Sox sign Cheslor Cuthbert to minor league deal
I just turned to my coworker (who also reads the boards) and said, "Countdown to Moan4Yoan chiming in with something negative...3, 2, 1..." Then I hit refresh and sure enough! Thanks for giving us a good laugh, you miserable human being.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
You see him struggling overall? Or just lacking in the power department during his first year?
-
Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
If he is healthy all year, I think Eloy will hit at least 40 next year.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Random question that popped into my head after reading your post... Who will have more home runs next year for the White Sox? Robert or Mazara?

Ryu to Jays - 4 yr/80 mil
I preferred Coleburg, but I can see why some would want Strasman.

Ryu to Jays - 4 yr/80 mil
As time goes on, I wonder if 4 years at a lower AAV would get it done...something like 4/$68M. I would guess the there are three year offers out there in the $55M/$60M range.

Eno Sarris Biggest Remaining MLB Needs And How To Fill Them - CWS
I wonder if we'd be more likely to go there if Ryu was already off the board. It's scary to play the waiting game because you might miss out on both, but as long as there are two options available still, the Sox have no reason to grossly overpay for either one right now.
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I actually hope it turns into a bidding war between us and the Twins, because I think we’d win. Two outcomes worse than this are the following: A) Neither team is interested in overpaying, and Ryu/Keuchel sign outside the division. B) Even worse, we aren’t interested, but the Twins are, and they snag one of them.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Gotcha. My bad. I didn't realize he was penciled into the rotation at this point.
