Honestly I love this deal. Pitching and defense win championships. Madrigal is an average fielding 2b and hits for no power at all. Heur has been pitching worth a crap for a long time. Sox now have 2 shutdown arms to pitch the 8th and 9th.

The guy is a gold glove 2b. Defense and pitching win playoff games.

This loss had nothing to do with the pitching. Other than Vaughn nobody is hitting. NOBODY!. You can't score at least 4 runs against KC? And now Eloy could be hurt again? I'm starting to think it just isn't meant to be this year.

They have to get Vaughn, Jimenez, and Abreau all in the lineup at the same time as much as possible.

He just doesn't have the mental make up to be any more than that.

To the resident experts on this injury to Robert. What are the chances he aggravates the same injury? Was that injury somewhat of a freak thing? I agree his mental recovery from the injury will be every bit as hard as the physical part.

This team is playing on fumes right now. They desperately need Jiminez, Robert, Grandal, and a new 2nd baseman in the lineup. The offense against top starting pitching is a corpse. These are exactly the pitchers the Sox will see in every playoff game.

I would say by the second week in August they are both back in the sox starting lineup. Grandal probably a week to 10 days after that. Now go get a reliever and a 2nd baseman Hahn and the team will be ready to rock and roll by Sep 1st!

Sometimes teams just have great chemistry and this Sox team looks like one. No need to rush Eloy or Robert or Yasmani back. And as far as deadline trades I 'm just glad I don't have to make those decisions. I don't know who I would trade away out of this group.

Nothing better in Summer to be watching a contending Sox team.

Yea I'm starting to think that you give Sheets some solid run until Eloy and Robert get back and if he shows he can hit consistently and more important hit for power then you keep him. The left handed bat is a huge plus.

Where do you play him here? No doubt he looks like a real good young talent but if he can get you a top middle reliever I think you have to move him.

That was an audition for Lopez. I expect him and Sheets to be traded for Escobar by the end of the week.

Lopez and Sheets have to be part of a trade package for a second baseman. That is the only reason I can see Lopez starting this game.

HUGE series win only because the Sox needed to know that they can beat this team. They dominated them these last two games.

In my opinion Gio is the key to any post season success. He needs to be that guy. With Rodon and Lynn looking pretty damn dependable if Gio can get it together that is a very good 123 punch on the mound.

Astros are just flat out a better team than the Sox right now. I despise them but it is just a fact. The Sox have to get Eloy and Robert back healthy and need to add a middle relief guy and a second baseman who can hit.
