  1. Very high IQ baseball move.
  2. Put this one in the books.
  3. Colson has 2 strikes on him. Not bad to run and either get into scoring position for a full count where you can now score on a single off on the pitch, or reset the account for colson if youre thrown out.
  4. You mean Mune isnt equal to a 1st ballot hall of famer and top 3 right-handed hitter of all time (for my money).
  5. Yeah, plus the guy has only had 408 career games and roughly 1500 PA's... How can you judge someone after such little time?!?!? Let's make sure he gets another 1500 AB's before truly deciding his quality!
  6. I haven't heard any generational talk. Phrase is overused anyway, but he's a solid prospect. Lacks elite tools.
  7. And for all interested, if he were qualified that wxOBA for Antonacci would rank him third among rookies, only behind Mune and McGoningle.
  8. Think his big step has been pulling the ball with authority and committing to it, so Id agree generally.
  9. Sam xwOBA after today will be north of 380. Kid is going to be a monster.
  10. At 44, you gotta do what you gotta do!
  11. You have a really hard time comprehending that 20 years is a really long time, and the game has completely changed. The Sox still haven't given a player 80 million, let alone 100. They're the last team left. Is that because theyre the only non competitive team at specific points over the past 20 years? Of course not, its because theyre the cheapest organization in baseball.
  12. You are legit living in a different world than the rest of us. Ill iterate it again. Chris Getz, the White Sox GM himself said the Sox are operating in the ilk of the Rays and Brewers where shuffling players and trading stars at peak value is an integral part of the model. The Sox also have traded a literal hall of famer in the past 10 years for prospects... only in your mind does that not count because the team wasnt good.
  13. You're gaslighting everyone. It's wild. This could very reasonably be the White Sox starting rotation today if they actually signed their stars and didn't trade them like you're claiming: Chris Sale, Dylan Cease, Garrett Crochet, Carlos Rodon, Noah Schultz... (Schultz harder to guarantee given draft position may have been different, but assuming they were the main team in on him). That's the best rotation in MLB. That may be a 100 million dollar rotation, but a reasonable team would still have 100 million for a roster.
  14. "Outside of the players they traded away, who have they traded away?" Pal, Getz is breaking your brain.
  15. Would be horrible. Being a fan, for me, is about seeing special talent and rooting for players for extended periods of time. Im still out there watching rodon, Crochet, and Cease pitch because I was fans of there's and loved watching them. Trading away all your entertainment for "future" entertainment usually results in no entertainment.
  16. Is this a serious question? The Sox have about 97 starting pitchers dominating or having pitched well for other teams.
  17. About 80% of this has been bad luck, and about 20% has been Taylor being way to in-the-zone with two strikes (especially ahead in the count). He's got to get that fastball higher in the zone with two strikes and stop living middle-up. I don't think Grant Taylor is going to be running a 400 BABIP against in his career. That paired with a 13.33 k/9 rate is bordering on absurdity.
  18. Taylor has a career FIP of 1.27 at 13.33 k/9. He's worth more than pretty much any reliever in baseball on the trade market.
  19. I said the same last year. He hasn't been great when he has to sit down and get up either. I like Taylor a lot, but I'm not a fan at all of what the Sox are doing to develop him and think he's being broken by using him as a reliever for this long. I'd move him while his peripherals are ungodly and call it a day.
  20. None of those guys are anywhere near Noah Schultz.
  21. Acuna has been the second worst defensive CF'er in baseball so far. This idea that he just has taken a few bad routes is nonsense. He's been dreadful with his arm and his routes, and I was very high on him defensively. I was simply wrong and he's no where near a viable defensive CF'er.
  22. Sox watching Emerson play small conference/school baseball isn't going to tell them much imo.
  23. Eh, This isn't even remotely true. For example, to use myself as an example, I said positive things about the Mune signing and the Newcomb signing. I certainly don't flame every move.
  24. Pal, you are fascinating. This happens over and over: Team does something. people say this makes no sense for all these reasons, and they show how obvious it is. Those things happen exactly as was said, and people flame it. You: "it happens, it's not like anyone can predict or see that coming. That's just how it works. Rinse and repeat.
