  1. Said it on April 5th and then more since then. Sox should have announced an extension the day they named him opening day starter. Sox were late to the party on crochet and now will move on from a generational talent despite having nothing on the payroll. The above numbers have gotten better and he now leads pitchers in fWAR by .5 wins. 15% better than everyone else.
  2. The best pitcher in baseball.
  3. It's even less than this because jimenez is a + runner. It was a 0% chance. People getting up in arms about this are completely delusional.
  4. The Sox are run by idiots. No idea why you think those guys trading proven mlb stars for young players THEY have highly rated is worthy of optimism. I'd be optimistic if they signed crochet to a 5 year extension instead of trading him. Sadly, sounds like crochet is 100% gone because he wasn't in the same ballpark as cheap-o-sox.
  5. It's better being a pirates fan than a white sox fan. Amazing honestly
  6. Brewers play in the NL central. Big difference.
  7. The Sox were certainly a trendy pick. There's no such thing as 3+ year windows with a collection of players. In 3 years, so much could change. The orioles appear to be positioned great bit that means nothing 3 years from now imo. Only way to stay elite for an extended period is typically to spend in addition to developing.
  8. Crochet didn't have his good command tonight. 5 singles. 6ks. No walks. Guys a machine even when he's battling.
  9. Bullpens by far the most easy thing to build/turn around in one season. They need some position players no doubt though.
  10. The command of Thorpe so far has been very concerning.
  11. Nothing in baseball nosier still than defensive metrics. I'm pretty sure there's not much worry about an elite defender suddenly becoming a liability. Even if he lost 1 step.
  12. A lot of people seem to think teams move off valuations based on 100 ABs. CF is the weakest offensively it's ever been - in MLB history. It's the weakest offensive position in baseball. Doubt many are too worried about Roberts 171 babip.
  13. I agree with your sentiment but am very confident saying colas is not a big leaguer.
  14. Colas is one of the worst players I've ever watched. Does nothing well
  15. Why would the Sox trade for more pitching?
  16. 15/yr is an anchor lol?
  17. It's the only reason I watch the white sox these days, so for me there's a reason to hold him. I only watch when he pitches. I also will never promote acting like a small market coward even if that is the likely outcome. I bet garrett would be open to some kind of extension but it wouldn't be cheap cheap.
  18. The odds of any of these pitchers being as good as crochet is about .01%.
  19. There's ZERO reason to trade crochet for anything but a complete kings ransom. He's showing, with his age and contract, that he's one of the 5 most valuable pieces in the game imo.
  20. Crochet belongs in the top 5 arms in the game conversation. The way he spots his fastball is unreal.
  21. Shriffen reads the pitch designation on the screen like Ron burgundy reads a teleprompter - whatever it says, it is!
  22. Camera not showing every time but looks like they're waving/reaching back for the base on change up. Surprised how exposed his hand is there.
  23. He's gotta protect that hand better with man on second. Pretty sure runner gave him change indicator and then nothing so knew fastball there. You can see his hand
  24. Nothing helps a young pitcher quite like a catcher who is the worst hitter in the history of baseball.
  25. He's a unicorn. Trading him would be wild.
