  1. Exchanging Lucas Giolito and Joey Ortiz from the Orioles seems to be a no brainer for both clubs. If you can steal another prospect in the deal great. Package TA with a bullpen arm to get some mlb ready starting pitching in return. Shop your bullpen and see what you can get. But none of this keep them down for service time nonsense. Bring them to the big league club right away to let them bond here. It'll give us something to watch in the second half and maybe serve as a wake up call to some of the others. I realistically expect none of this to happen.
  2. What they absolutely should do is trade Giolito then sign him in the off season but that is absolutely what they will not do.
  3. Actively hurting the teams chances to win because of "what he's done in the game." By that logic Manny Ramirez should've batted 3 when KW brought him in. We're way beyond embarrassing.
  4. I'd be thrilled if we could steal Ortiz. He and Montgomery on our middle infield would be worth watching.
  5. Grifol is continuing to hit TA 2 out of pure stubbornness now. He can't possibly ignorant and dumb enough to think this is working. He is turning into one of our most unlikeable managers.
  6. Should've pinch hit for TA. 0-2 fastball right down the middle shows you how little they feared him.
  7. It's June 30 and Nick Madrigal has more home runs than Tim Anderson....for those keeping track.
  8. I will pay some attention only to root for gio's trade value. It's all We have anymore.
  9. TA batting second at his current level of production tells us everything we need to know about Grifol as a manager.
  10. This will not be a complete rebuild. JR had to be sold on the last one and it failed. That being said you need to keep Robert, Cease, Kopech, Burger, and Vaughn. Colas should be up asap. And get what you can for Gio, the relievers, maybe Yaz and maybe Eloy. Package deals would prob net higher quality prospects. And they need to be major league ready....ideally middle infield that show some power. Texas and Baltimore have some impressive youngsters that fit that bill. Also a nice arm or two to rebuild some starting pitching depth. Should Hahn and KW do it? Absolutely not. Will they? I think Hahn gets canned at some point but when is the question. KW has a job as long as he wants it. If Rodon pitched with the sox last year I think they make the playoffs and I think Cease, Rodon 1 and 2 might have gotten us through at least one round. This front office f'd this up almost every way they could have. It's impressive incompetence to be honest.
  11. I know 4 folks were hit. One in very critical condition. Isp had 4 detained from vehicle with at least one in custody. Sounded pretty gnarly. Hit happened at 35/shields. I was a little surprised game wasn't delayed.
  12. All good points. Grifol doesn't really have the tools. But he is also misusing the tools he has.
  13. This right here. It's been clear for some time that Reylo can really only be used when the game is out of hand to eat up innings but Grifol continues to throw him into high leverage situations. I know why he does it, and why he sticks with Anderson at lead off. He's trying to show his guys he "has their back" so that they don't play so tight. But that only works when guys have defined roles. Lopez does not, and Tim just kind of fell into the lead off role when he had batting champion numbers. This isn't a.....Hendricks blows 3 saves in a week but he's a closer and he will stay our closer....situation. This feeds right into Grifol just really not having a feel for the game or his team and the negative reverberations are plentiful.
  14. If they can't score here this will be another brutal loss.
  15. Cease was done. Couldn't get the fastball over. I wouldve rather seen reylo just start the inning clean but oh well. Dude is a head case. It's the Dodgers they weren't going to go quietly.
  16. Say what you want about Tendi but I love watching him at the plate.
  17. I've never booed either. However I'm not gonna clap and cheer for them simply to take the field. That has to be earned imo.
  18. It's referred to as a child's game because the vast majority of those playing it are......young. There are only a privileged few getting to play the game professionally, as adults. It does not downplay it. It illustrates how fortunate these men are. At least that's how I assumed most people interpreted it.
  19. I tend to agree. Hell trade more than that for some ready, or almost mlb ready talent and they prob play nearly the same. Or better since the younger guys will presumably....care.
