Joey Gallo Rumor Thread
Why is there this thought that Gallo will come to the White Sox and get better? How often do players come here and improve?

Joey Gallo Rumor Thread
Nobody needs a ballplayer that hit .160 last year. And Benintendi is more capable of hitting 19 home runs, Gallo's number last year, than Gallo is of batting .200. Putting the ball in play routinely, with success, still has value. I agree the ballclub needs more home runs but they absolutely do not need to settle for yet another player that needs a massive rebound year. That's the whole lineup already. They are choosing to settle and that's why it's frustrating.

The fact that there are fans okay with this potential signing shows how low we've sunk.

I love that it seems there are few, if any, fans left who buy a single thing Hahn says. He'd be better off just keeping his mouth shut at this point.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
A new team to follow.....sorry I'm very down on everything unfolding lately.

Mike Clevinger to Sox per Rosenthal
Has it been covered yet that the Sox are signing a pitcher with a funky, extended delivery the same year where a pitch clock is being enforced?

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Hard pass on Gallo. Nimmo and Conforto will be too expensive. And someone will outbid us on Benintendi.

JR statement on Jose...
Maybe we can ask them about it at Soxfest.

This is all as hollow as it gets.

Pedro Grifol named White Sox manager; Katz asked to return per Rosey
I wouldve liked to hear if he had talked to any players yet. I know lynn chatted with him but any talk to TA or any others? He seems like a good dude. Will give him the benefit of the doubt.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
I'd be fine with it. Ozzie's attention span is short. From 04 to 08 he was a great manager and then garbage after that. I think it'd be the same this time. A few years where he's invested then move on. Outside of this board most Sox fans I know would love ozzie coming back. I get the skepticism and I'd like to see a fresh start but he would be a nice kick in the ass for this group.

Frank Thomas called out as ‘douchebag’ by ex-teammate in new book
Frank always seemed very committed to putting up excellent numbers and performing at a high level. Perhaps that gave him an arrogance that rubbed some teammates the wrong way. I, for one, wish any of our current players had that in them. Maybe TA at times. However in the multiple opportunities I've had to meet Frank, seen him interact with fans, and seen how he has tipped and rewarded support staff around him, he's been nothing less than a class act. I'll let this one pass the eye test and leave the gossip alone.

They're going to talk to Long on mlb network in a few minutes about tonight's game. For anyone interested in getting a feel for the guy.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
I have issues with a metric that tells me Leury Garcia is better than anyone.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Marte's 2021 was pretty on point compared with Tim's. That being said I was pretty soured by TA's behavior this year, namely personal distractions and on the field that double header in Cleveland. If this team underperformed with a lack of leadership he could shoulder some of that blame. Anyway it's a moot point because they'll never trade him. Just food for thought.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
If they really wanted to shake things up and show this roster they mean business trade TA. Send him to Arizona for Ketel Marte who seems like he could use a change of scenery. Go sign Benintendi and give Andrus a 1 year deal to be the bridge to Montgomery. Marte, Benintendi, Vaughn, Eloy, Moncada, Robert, Grandal, Pollock, Andrus would sit nicely with me until Colas is ready. Sign a few vets to give the starting staff some depth and I'd be optimistic. But that would be ballsy for this organization so it won't happen. You're probably closer than I am.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
I thought it was obvious I was talking about the organization in general. We don't need someone bringing "swag" we need someone who can gets these clowns to work hard and earn that swagger. I love Willie, but he's not the guy and that's not that attitude we need. If anything we need some humility.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
Yeah no.....hard pass. Save the swag until you win something. Until then put your head down and run.

LaRussa retiring on Monday
This is all great but I'm already terrified about what comes next. How worried should we be about Willie Harris?

Will "core" players be traded before Spring Training?
What they should do is say goodbye to Abreu and trade Anderson with a throw in salary dump. What they will do is trade Vaughn and re-sign Abreu because White Sox.

Admitting a Wrong: Kenny Williams vs Rick Hahn
Absolutely, he definitely was around in the Schueler era and a part of the talent that was brought in. But that doesn't change the fact that the cupboard was bare when Hahn took over after 12 years of KW. Williams always stuck me as someone who favored "athletics" over baseball acumen. Jared Mitchell immediately jumps to mind along with Keenyn walker. Both Hahn and Williams have skills in areas that can contribute to success but I agree with the assessment somebody made about KW as a grade C gm and Hahn as an F. Regardless they've both been around faaaar too long.

Who is buying/renewing tix for 2023?
Nay. Told them why. Will go to the opener per usual but any additional will be condional on the effort. And by effort I mean players, staff and front office becausee I saw none this year.

Admitting a Wrong: Kenny Williams vs Rick Hahn
Something to remember is Kenny Williams inherited a wonderful farm system constructed by Ron Schueler. Kenny utilized that to its fullest and while I appreciated him putting competitive teams on the field constantly, his neglect of the farm system (or mismanagement) led to a lot of the problems after he moved upward.
