What I've never understood about the idea of relocating this franchise is the built-in, original fanbase that would be potentially lost. Say what you will about attendance but that park has always filled up when the wins came....which is not often. And as much of a clown as Brandon Johnson is, Chicago losing both the Bears and White Sox in the same time frame would be a big blow. Perhaps that's part of why JR is throwing this out there right now. My attachment to this city is dwindling by the day and I'll be out of here asap. However my attachment to this team is different. If they moved/relocated to Nashville I'd probably be done with MLB.

No. I will not be content that the piece the Sox got back for one of their most likeable, hard working, successful players is merely healthy. Do I hope he works out? Sure. Do I trust Hahn's judgement? No.

This is like Rick Hahn saying Rick Hahn will step down if Rick Hahn doesn't think Rick Hahn is doing a good job. Piss off Bob until you have some real news.

2007, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2023 are all my most miserable seasons as a White Sox fan. And Rick was the GM for all but one of them. It's actually quite impressive to be that consistently awful.

Good bullpens are organic. They come together naturally from guys that don't do well starting, guys with good stuff that doesn't extrapolate, young guys finding their stride, and veterans looking for a fresh atmosphere. When you try to force it with big money I feel like it always backfires. Also closer by committee NEVER works and that's what Pedro decided on back in spring training so....

The ironic thing is that Soxfest would sell out in minutes just so everyone could tell Hahn and company to piss off.

It's very White Sox. Letting Soxfest die is a really just them kicking their fans while they're down. It was always one of my favorite events of the winter even in s%*# years. I hope people keep pressing them on this.

I'd absolutely prefer a fresh start/take. I'm more alluding to the "revisionist history." Ozzie had a good and bad qualities and years. I don't think anybody is ignoring his bad traits when he was here but his voice, passion and knowledge are still relevant. Most of the fanbase I talk to would love to have him back. I can see the reasons for and against but I don't think anybody is pretending he was flawless.

I haven't seen anybody praise Ozzie's last year here or the terms of his departure. I have seen plenty ignore the good he did from 04 to 08 though.

Ozzie has a short attention span. He was a great manager from 04 to 08. He was distracted and less interested after that. I wanted him to go too. But he's got something to prove and still has the fire and knowledge. He'd come back, be great for 4 or 5 years again and then probably check out. Honestly I'll take that.

If you haven't listened to the white sox talk podcast go do it. Real interesting stuff from Ozzie and Pedro big league-ing him when he tried to offer help. Lot of stuff to think on there....

He was great and insightful on the score yesterday. Last year I'd say nay, but now...

And a great play at first. This is a great stretch for him to build confidence.

Maybe after years of pushing a showboat as a leader who crumbled at the first sign of adversity, they're trying someone who puts his head down, runs hard (slow) and appears to genuinely want to get better. This kid was deprived any time to develop. If he was moved along properly it'd be what, his 1st? 2nd full season this year? I still think he'll settle in as a .270 to .280/25 - 30 hr guy and will be fine. As far as pushing him as a leader? I hadn't noticed. He showed me he was one on Saturday. If they were smart, at the deadline they would've told him "I don't care what your numbers are, or what the w/l record is. You are our 1st baseman this year and next. So go play and don't think about it anymore." Maybe they did. He's looked better lately. And I agree with what someone else said about Robert being shy. If he wanted to be in the limelight more he would be.

I too have heard the front office morale is terrible. Sucks because there are decent, smart hard working folks there who have to suffer through this. So really Rick just straight up lied. To imply that he knew for 100 % certainty that nobody slept in the bullpen is treating fans like fools. To suggest that the general manager had a better idea than a relief pitcher is insulting the intelligence of those listening. Middleton had zero to gain with this, Hahn has everything to lose. 10 years pal. 10 years to instill a culture and its still a work in progress. He'd be better off not talking from here on out. Pedro was worse. To imply that he waited through a horrid start to try to instill some order and think that that's okay tells you there has been no sense of urgency in this organization. Today's press conference did more harm than good.

Exactly this. I think that's part of why they were so listless in 2022. They had clear holes and were inferior to Houston in 21. They did nothing to address it. And the players, whether consciously or subconsciously, phoned it in.

I've been on teams with horrid coaching/structure. All the speaking up in the world wasn't gonna change a thing.

Honestly Sox fans are great at Black outs for the once a decade playoff game. If it was billed like that it could get some traction.
