If I remember correctly, Gleybar was traded to the Yankees for a few months rental of a top reliever. Now our top reliever needs to be accompanied by a second piece to be attractive to the Yankees. Seems like some folks have a way of undervaluing our players while overlooking the flaws in players from the other organization.

I am not interested in making a fair comparison trade for Liam. He plays an important role on our team. He is not easily expendable at all. If we trade him at all...it only makes sense if the acquiring team overpays for his services.

They didn't get 10D with getting salary relief elsewhere as the goal. I think they are refining the roster and expect trades, FA acquisitions, and salary dumps. The RH criticism invades every topic and it's not entertaining. Let the offseason play out and then criticize to your hearts content. I believe the club will spend about $200 million by the time it's done. If I'm wrong...I'm wrong. Liam isn't going anywhere without us receiving a haul IMO.

One of the fun things about being a fan is playing GM in the off season. I was hoping for either Beni or Kepler so I'm happy. Those that wanted Gallo will get to watch and saying I told you so...or you were right. At this point I am pleased with the offseason but still want a second baseman and SP depth piece.

Your 13-15 homers are about right IMO. Moncada, Robert, and Grandal are the three that need a bounce back badly. Some luck and very good health are also required. I'm very pumped for Pedro to show these guys what's expected of players who want a championship.

I agree with your "needs more depth" evaluation but Duvall is really uninspiring to me. Admittedly, I haven't seen much of him with my own eyes, but his stats leave me wondering why we would be buying if the price is 5-6 million. I'll offer Engel 2 million and get more for the money.

I am not saying Benni is better than Jose for the year 2023. They will both probably have good years. Because we do have Vaughn and we didn't have the needed left-handed outfield bat along his other skill set...it's not even close which player better fits today's team.

As we all know...Jose was Greg's favorite player. Never fun when they trade one of your favorite players. I feel they were wrong to trade Madrigal, but the FO does what they think best. That's probably best since most of us fans don't have the same amount of information on which to base our opinions.
