  1. Yes, but it's probably better they get buried in a dark corner of the internet than those people attend the games and spread toxic energy throughout the ballpark that could distract the team.
  2. Dr. La Russa is immensely influential through his career. A commanding presence, he empowers peers, pupils, and locker rooms. Balancing the talent scale as a enlightened heavy-weight in baseball. I will see him give lecture again. Thankful he forever keeps the discussion of innovation and efficiency alive and lively.
  3. Personally, I think it would have to be between Jerry, Kenny, Ricky, or Tony. Jerry's instilled the family culture that makes this organization run top to bottom, Kenny's assembled a WS roster as a GM, Ricky's built a well-oiled machine, and Tony's a God of the game. All have a case to be the "face of the franchise", which is why I prefer a Mt Rushmore to accommodate all 4.
  4. There’s virtually no separation in the standings. AL is 1 team ahead of the pace and the other 14 packed together. 2nd/15 in run differential. To sum up my mood in one word: “Unbothered”
  5. JR, STFH, Kenny Williams, STFH. Rick Hahn, STFH. It would be terrible to see any of these three leave. We are on the same page regarding the second part. Jerry/Kenny/Ricky/Tony should be kicking rocks and pounding sand atop their rightful place on baseball's Mt Rushmore. This team will be rolling by summer. It's not even 4/20 yet. And we want 'Dorf to keep breathing. He's instilled the most fearsome foursome among executives and managers in the sport, along with a family culture top-to-bottom that makes this organization special.
  6. I was listening to Delilah last night and she told a story of a cop who could’ve arrested a guy for his 2nd DUI but instead drove him home and changed his life. That guy is 10 years sober today. Jerry, like Delilah and that cop, is an incredibly gracious human who sees the good in people. Look at the tv right now: there are tons of fans - many of whom likely bash Jerry online - disregarding rules and not wearing masks. Jerry has full license to order security to remove all these patrons. But Jerry gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, which will spare many of our fans an Opening Day arrest tonight. We are lucky to have Jerry.
  7. I remember a Cardinals team that got swept opening week by a 66-96 Cubs team, capped by an embarrassing SNB loss on national television. LaRussa led that club to winning the World Series 6 months later, and the WS MVP was...David Eckstein. Week 1 doesn't matter.
  8. I’m actually part of a LaRusstans Discord group now because so many people needed refuge from the social media toxicity towards Tony and Jerry. It’s so much healthier, positive, and we get some inside nuggets too. A lot of people are in for a surprise when Tony gets his standing ovation.
  9. And we will look back at this one day as the best thing Jerry Reinsdorf’s ever done. Jerry withholding this intel from RH/KW so they couldn’t torpedo it may have been a World Series-winning move.
  10. Depends on your perspective. Employees within the organization might’ve experienced how fans treated the organization and ask themselves: Will JR/Hahn forgive the fans? Personally, I’m all about inclusiveness on the bandwagon, so anyone and everyone is welcome. But I wasn’t the brunt of personal attacks like Jerry or Tony were, so I can’t judge whether they forgive after we win the WS.
  11. This news confirms what some of us already knew: Hahn knows how good he has it here and has no interest in leaving the Jerry/Kenny/Ricky/Tony Mt Rushmore.
  12. There’s no tension between Jerry, Kenny, Ricky, & Tony. I’ll put the Sox’ Mt Rushmore of Jerry, Kenny, Ricky, & Tony up against anyone’s. Hahn loves the hiring of LaRussa because Tony’s about to put a ring on his finger.
  13. Kasper was always real high on Tony LaRussa. I think once the Sox hired TLR, Kasper was coming and it just took a few weeks for lawyers to hammer out negotiations.
  14. Reselling our lower 140s seats ranged from $10-70 depending on opponent/day. Probably $20 avg on weeknights and $40 avg on weekends. Basically, how much you make back depends on selling Cubs/Yankees/Red Sox tix and going to the rest. Reselling the parking pass helps too — I’ve made $5 for bad opponents and $30+ for premium opponents. Stubhub takes 20% but it’s the most reliable for getting takers. Personally, I hate Cubs/Yankees/Red Sox games because of traffic/parking. Those go on Stubhub everytime. I’ll only go to soldout games if it’s a special occasion, final week of a playoff race, or the playoffs.
  15. An early XMas gift arrived at the doorstep today — my first jersey since 2008. So euphoric for next season and wearing this at all the games next summer!
  16. This was a great baseball hire. Unfortunately for twitter, only 2% of the population is active on it. They’re a zit on an elephant’s ass with a loud echo chamber inside.
  17. Honestly, no one. The ones I think had HOF careers were all roiders. My rooting interests are: 1) Buehrle (obviously) 2) Andruw Jones (really liked him the year he was here) 3) LaTroy Hawkins (treated horribly by Cubs fans...gets the last laugh just by making it to the ballot)
  18. Stay. He might have only 1 championship, but a 2nd is arriving shortly. He’s fostered a personable, family-like environment where everyone knows everyone top-to-bottom. Former players enjoy it so much they return often. His biggest mistake was 35 years ago, but he‘s humble enough to correct it 35 years later when most billionaires would never admit a mistake. His relationship skills are second to none. I envy his and Tony’s friendship and it’s my goal to build a friendship that special one day. The fairytale ending of a lifetime is coming in an October or two, and will be a huge storyline when Ken Burns films his 2020s documentary.
  19. 100%. And now fans are storming Stone’s twitter intentionally misrepresenting what he’s saying, calling him names, telling him he’s the problem, and intimating he’s backing LaRussa because he’s white. Good on him for blocking people. Stone has been gracious in going above and beyond to interact with fans and fans have returned that favor by treating him poorly.
