  1. They got paid before the injury prone label.
  2. Take a bow, this is good.
  3. Ah yes, the dude that seems to add a few more exclamation points every time he makes the same dumb post is DEFINITELY not the irrationally angry one.
  4. Oh I completely agree. The condescending and dismissive pOsTs AbOuT aNaLyTiCs are just obnoxious is all.
  5. Yeah you tell em! An advanced stat that provides additional context on the performance of a player is totally for NERDS!
  6. It's probably safe to say that most of us knew little to nothing about either guy before today. It's also probably safe to say that this trade ends up being of no real significance on the field. That being said, for an organization that has stubbornly operated in a shortsighted manner for years and years, it should be pretty obvious why many aren't ready to give them the benefit of the doubt here. We're all just desperate for inklings of evidence that there's a longer term plan in place. This move does not exactly help with that.
  7. You forgot the third option of doing whatever the hell you want to do as a fan, but thanks for sharing your rules.
  8. You had years of data showing that these guys are injury prone and still went the Hahn route of having no legitimate backup plan for when they inevitably got hurt again. Cool stuff.
  9. It’s almost as if us fans aren’t as smart as we think we are.
  10. Mexico City elevation 7,349 ft lol. I'd be all for it for the chaos of that alone.
  11. I think with the state the sox are in, these smaller moves on the margins end up being a little more important than they should be. Every little bit helps.
  12. Is Rafael Ortega real? I legit have no idea who that is.
  13. Strange comment. Also, they should absolutely be prepared to trade him this offseason.
  14. It doesn’t happen with any team, though. We’re just used to the same few injury prone “core” guys getting hurt and the FO having no backup plan.
  15. Here’s what you’re missing: Schriffen is not a jaded Sox fan like the rest of us. He’s getting paid to inject life into the broadcast and, by extension, the team. Yes, using the term “haters” was pretty cringe, but holy hell are some of y’all blowing this way out proportion. This feels like misdirected anger about the org as a whole more than anything else.
  16. So sorry you were inconvenienced. Some conditions are too bad to play in. I don’t know why this is hard to understand.
  17. He was upset they were stopping the game. It came off like the most important thing about the situation was getting the sox a win, not player safety, not the fact that Brebbia kept asking for new baseballs multiple times between each pitch.
  18. That little tantrum was annoying
  19. It’s the perfect year to do this. Use this shitty nothing season to your advantage by seeing what you have in guys. No? Just continue treading water with veterans? Okay then.
  20. "I don't take them out for ice cream after games. I've never had ice cream. There's baseball to focus on."
  21. The Sox and clicking "Show more" are becoming an iconic duo.
  22. I agree, but that's also pretty irrelevant at the moment IMO. The way I see it, these two things are both true: 1) The Sox are a bad team AND 2) They have a bad manager One of those is easier to resolve than the other.
  23. Yeah for sure. Clear path to playing time on a team that likely doesn't have you in their future plans. If he stays healthy and performs reasonably well, I think he's setting himself up nicely for the trade deadline.
  24. Homie just pulled out a damn CVS receipt lol
  25. Good lord man. How is saying Nicky Lopez has a 6-game hit streak, and a 7 game on-base streak “hyping him up”? Look, I think Nicky Lopez sucks. I also think those streaks are at least a little noteworthy considering how much both he and the team suck. Not everything has to be a petty argument.
