  1. If it’s not Abreu and Vaughn, is it cuz Vaughn has more trade value than Eloy?
  2. Welcome to the AL central, where you get to play a lot of games against bad teams and even do well against them from time to time.
  3. Could have stopped after the first sentence.
  4. Are you saying the organizational philosophy of "hope to be good enough" doesn't inspire you?
  5. You can't possibly believe this. The history? Well yeah, of course. The franchise in general? Come the f on.
  6. Also curious if Fire Walk With Me is being made available.
  7. The Sox and Padres are both historically pathetic franchises. I don’t like the Padres, but I’d rather have my team actively making moves to try to win, rather than whatever the Sox are doing.
  8. If it hasn’t happened by now, it’s gonna be an offseason “look at us and our accountability” firing, as other posters have suggested. Which is just lolololol.
  9. The icing on the cake will be the Hahn quote telling us that getting <injured player> back is just as good as any trade acquisition.
  10. “In 2022, at home, the Sox are 26th in OPS at .669, 24th in slugging at .369, 24th in wRC+ at 92, 19th in batting average at .241 and 21st in BABIP at .281. Meanwhile, on the road, the Sox are ninth in OPS at .723, 11th in slugging at .402, sixth in wRC+ at 106, first in batting average at .272 and first in BABIP at .330.” When TLR was asked about the home/road difference: “Man, we have worked that forward, backward, sideways,” La Russa said. “I take the easy way out because I take what makes sense: Let’s wait till the season’s over to see where we are in the last 30-something games, whatever we’ve got at home. Because it doesn’t make sense. We’ve looked at everything, process. But so far, it’s been a mystery, man. It’s crazy.”
  11. No one treads water like the Chicago White Sox #PrayForTheLeague
  12. Leury Garcia batting in a big spot with Jimmy Lambert warming up for the 9th is why this is a .500 team in a nutshell.
  13. Flyouts should be worth half a run for the Sox
  14. The AL Central should have to forfeit its playoff spot.
  15. Yeah, Mahle feels about right. Could also see them going bigger and getting Rodon instead.
  16. I agree with you from the general standpoint that he's been great this season, but maybe he could have even been better. He's still given up some unearned runs, which forces him to throw more pitches. Plus, there's the bad defense that doesn't show up as errors in the box score, like one of our 1B/DHs playing the outfield and not being able to get to a routine fly ball. But enough raining on the Cueto parade. He's been awesome.
  17. Except when you have a bad defense behind you, at which point strikeouts are more valuable than letting hitters put the ball in play.
  18. But it's not actually hindsight for the people that thought him staying healthy and pitching well as a very real possibility. What's easy was dismissing anything Rodon related by saying he'll be hurt come July.
  19. Is the “talk to me in July when he’s on the IL” crowd still interested in talking?
