  1. I still don't have a read on the Guardians and don't know how sustainable their success is, but I'm willing to buy the Twins. Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez look like they've made huge strides with legit changes and Maeda hasn't looked all that rusty thus far. Plus, they have Polanco, Kirilloff, Royce Lewis, Kepler and Gallo all coming back. Some of those names are meh, but that's still depth that the Sox can only dream of as they trot Hanser Alberto out there. Sure, there are some if's with the Twins (esp health-wise), but every team has those. Until Buxton, Correa and the rotation actually break down for an extended period of time, they look like the team to beat in the division to me.
  2. Yeah, if we didn't do this whole damn thing already all of last season, I think fans might be willing to give it a little more time. But I think a lot of fans are just drained from last season that it's hard to do the "wait till they get healthy/hot" thing again. Especially when they're experiencing a lot of the same issues they did last year.
  3. Hahn’s just playing 3D chess over here and getting a jump on the trade deadline. Moncada, Eloy, TA, Crochet and Hendriks? Great acquisitions and the sign of a great GM.
  4. Hard to feel like it would matter either way when Hahn and Co would still be the ones making the moves.
  5. Top of the 9th is gonna be over in like 35 seconds.
  6. Once again, here’s the actual context of the parade line: “In terms of feeling like we've accomplished something or [are] feeling satisfied,” Hahn said Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field, “ask me after the parade.”…“Until that happens, I don't think any of us are really in a position to feel satisfied or feel like we've accomplished anything," Hahn continued. Why do we insist on creating a fake thing to get mad about when there’s an endless supply of actual reasons to be upset?
  7. Bats gonna go silent for the next 6 innings now?
  8. Shocked that hoping for good health didn't work out this time.
  9. They were quick to IL Eloy, so maybe they’ll handle injuries better than last year.
  10. Amazing
  11. Benintendi is boring.
  12. Ah, I follow now. And agree.
  13. You don’t think an injury can be reaggravated or what?
  14. Amazing that this is the healthy pitching staff doing this (Liam not withstanding).
  15. Lol'ing at the idea of McCutchen getting struck out on three straight pitch clock violations during the standing O.
  16. Look, I hate Hahn as much as the next person, but the parade line constantly gets taken out of context. He wasn't being arrogant. He was saying they haven't accomplished anything yet, so don't ask him if he's satisfied until after the parade. There's an incredibly long list of reasons to dislike the dude and the job he's done, this ain't one of them.
  17. On the bright side, if this was last year they probably would have waited two more weeks before putting him on the IL.
  18. Sheets needs to be part of a platoon of a platoon, where he only faces RHP at home.
  19. Well I imagine they're thinking that a .167 average in the 5th game of the season after missing an entire year is probably not a big deal.
  20. The flatness of this game has a real 2022 stench to it. As long as it doesn’t become a pattern, just move on and take the series.
  21. I’m thinking they’re gonna need to score at least 5 with Clevinger going.
  22. Thank you for finding the words that I couldn’t. This is the overall reason I’m fine with this start.
