My god this division is atrocious.

It wasn't a great season or anything, but it felt like the team was finally transitioning out of the rebuild and into a potential contender. There was some positive momentum.

I'm as jaded as the next person, but what makes you certain these things won't ever improve?

For the record, I'd take my chances letting these stooges handle the next offseason rather than the current FO.

Well they are definitely succeeding in not doing too much, so good job everyone. Can't imagine what could go wrong with an offense that consists of hitting singles the opposite way, followed by station to station baserunning because all of your players are either already slow or have been instructed to run slow so that their legs won't explode.

You might be waiting into the offseason. I'll be surprised if they have 7 or 8 of their projected starters available for even a short amount of time this year. I do admire your patience, though.

It was so damn predictable that once the bats came alive for a bit, the pitching fell apart. And now that the pitching looks good again, the bats go back to sleep. Just a pitiful team.

Honestly I’m off the fire Menechino thing. If he ends up being the scapegoat, fine, whatever. I’ll take a pulse over nothing. But with the way they seemed to turn a corner offensively the past couple weeks, this recent dud is 100% on the players IMO.

It’s too subjective. There’s no way to prove it, so it’s a completely meaningless thing for him to say and I’m sure he knows that.

It’d be nice if it actually mattered, but we all know it doesn’t. This is what we’re stuck with.

Being a fan of this team is just exhausting.

Yeah, I have a much better feeling about the underperforming players getting back/closer to their norms than I do about the health stuff.

Genuinely curious what your reasoning is for believing they get/stay healthy. Luck evening out? Gut feeling? Exercising more caution with rehab stints? It’s not exactly a hot take to assume they won’t get healthy.
