Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Lucas was the union rep, Jerry would fire Getz before his regime formally started if Chris tried to claim him.

Sox place Clevinger on waivers
Too bad Texas doesn't need a pitcher, probably wouldn't mind his baggage since they already traded for Chapman. Reds and Orioles could use a starter, probably too cheap to claim for $1.3M plus risking the $4M option. I do think a team may sign him in 2024 since he pitched well and there were no reported incidents this season. Maybe Kenny's buddy in Miami takes a chance, though they need to jump 3 teams at 2 1/2 games out.

After an exhaustive search, Getz named GM/VP
Not sure if MLB retired the Selig Rule when he did. Someone should ask, as if it's still in place, there was likely no other interviews or another sham Willie Harris type interview. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/baseball-teams-making-a-mockery-of-selig-rule-172438377.html

Yes and Kenny calling Frank an idiot, and telling him to stay out of "White Sox Business". No need to say it, 99% of MLB wants to stay out of White Sox Business. Would also add locking Carlton Fisk out of the clubhouse in Cleveland so he couldn't say goodbye to his teammates, and then banning him from the clubhouse that October to wish his teammates well in the ALCS.

Hear me now, believe me later. I should have added TV: Thom Brennaman & Glen Kuiper; Radio: WIND Amy Jacobson & Dan Proft / Pre & Post Mike Nort.

None for Ricky Renteria either, was hired the day after Robin refused to return.

I'd add these gems 1994 Break The Union Cancel White Sox vs. Montreal World Series Opportunity White Flag Original Stadium (Upper Deck, Dodger Seats, Facing The Robert Taylor Homes) Terry Bevington Robin Ventura vs. Nolan Ryan I was fine with Disco Demolition. Not a big Ozzie fan, but it was two games, not "mid-season" and he quit because Kenny went behind his back and his agreement and extended Don Cooper. To me, both were in the wrong and both should have been replaced

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
I'm likely in the minority here, but I would like brining back Reynaldo Lopez and sign him for 1-2 years in the offseason.

After an exhaustive search, Getz named GM/VP
The previous positions were EVP and SVP. I believe the "one decision maker" is just a SVP spot, with no EVP position in the future. He's already paying Kenny and Rick through 2024. SVP GM Chris Getz & Asst GM Jeremy Haber the most likely combination, with Tony La Russa and or Dayton Moore as Special Advisors.

After an exhaustive search, Getz named GM/VP
I'd say this is largely accurate, won't necessarily move the needle much for 2024 season tickets. Jerry's media (NBCSN, sox.com) is going to praise it, or at least say let's give him a few years chance. Much of the Chicago media are worthless lapdogs like Bruce Levine, Hoping it's so bad the Tribune and Sun Times drop daily coverage. Front Office: SVP GM Chris Getz; Asst GM Jeremy Haber; Analytics Dave Duncan's Son; Senior Advisors Tony La Russa & Dayton Moore; Player Development Kenny Williams Junior Coaching Staff: Mngr Pedro Grifol; Bench Jim Foster; 3B Wes Helms; 1B & OF Daryl Boston; Infield Omar Vizquel; Pitching Curt Schilling; Bullpen John Rocker; Trainer Larry Nassar OD Lineup: C Y. Grandal; 1B A. Vaughn; 2B E. Andrus; SS A. Russell; 3B J. Donaldson; RF Y. Puig; CF O. Herrera; LF A. Benintendi; DH G. Sheets Rotation: T. Bauer; M. Clevinger; D. German; L. Lynn; D. Reinsdorf considers moving White Sox out of Guaranteed Rate Field or selling team

Everyone will have to handle it in their own way. I feel if people do not give Jerry a penny, at the games, via merchandise, via his garbage cable TV network, that's the only thing he gives a s%*# about. I boycotted for 13 years after the 1990 season, and boycotted a second time since the Tony La Russa hire. I went to one game this year with tickets from a friend that won a charity raffle, didn't spend a penny (I brought beer and food for tailgating), and won't until Jerry is no longer in charge. Not sure I'd return if Michael Reinsdorf takes over, they need new ownership and a completely new direction.

Fire Chris Getz
Chris Getz hired Omar Vizquel. How did that work out? Domestic Violence - Check Molester of special needs bat boy - Check Chris Getz hired Wes Helms. How did that work out? Will have to check out court blotters to get more info, but it wasn't for baseball reasons.

Fire Chris Getz
This page needs to stay on Page 1 throughout his tenure. I said last week that the Sox' record at the conclusion of the Oakland series would be the high water mark in his career as GM (3-3 .500). I believe the Sox will finish below .500 under his tenure, and if Jerry lives into the 2030s, he very well could challenge Rick Hahn for the worst GM record in White Sox history. This guy is less qualified than Rick Hahn, let alone Kenny Williams. Season ticket holders need to unite, contact their ticket rep, and tell them they are not sending in a penny until the FO situation is settled, and if Chris Getz or another internal crony is selected they are burning their season ticket invoice and using their money on something that is actually entertaining, not the s%*# Getz and the Sox will role out year after year after year. f*** you Jerry you piece of s%*#. From Jerry's pathetic pay cable channel: https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/mlb/chicago-white-sox/white-sox-news/white-sox-head-of-baseball-ops-likely-to-come-from-within-organization-report/503836/

Well it looks like I don't have to follow baseball anymore until Jerry is gone or Montreal gets an expansion team, whichever comes first. Looks like IDing the Comiskey Park shooter is the last relevant storyline to be determined in 2023. Jerry Reinsdorf - Still a Jive Turkey after all these years

Update: 3 (2) fans injured by bullet in Guaranteed Rate field (split from game thread, police investigation underway)
I have a hunch she is either CPS/CTU, possible off duty police (City or Suburbs) and or politically connected. If any media exists in Chicago, they will send FOIA requests if the organizations (CWS/CPD/City) stonewall / do not provide further responses over the next week. Also, it appears there was only one shot fired, with the stomach graze wound the result of a powder wound when the weapon discharged, with the bullet striking the women adjacent in the leg. https://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/2023/08/no-s%*#-fred.html Second city is alluding to the possibility the shooting perp is a CPS teacher, illegally living in the suburbs (CPS teachers are required to live in Chicago).

KW/Hahn - They Gone
They would have had two more if it weren’t for stupid trades. Ron Schueler January 10, 1992: Bob Wickman traded by the Chicago White Sox with Domingo Jean and Melido Perez to the New York Yankees for Steve Sax. Kenny Williams January 3, 2008: Ryan Sweeney traded by the Chicago White Sox with Fautino De Los Santos and Gio Gonzalez to the Oakland Athletics for Nick Swisher. Jeff Weaner declined their second round offer in 1997 and went with the Tigers, R1 14th in 1998.

Reinsdorf considers moving White Sox out of Guaranteed Rate Field or selling team
- GT 8/28: SOX @ BAL, 6:05 pm, If a team wins two in a row . . .
I listened to many games starting in late April (beyond Clevinger games which I do not follow), and was excited after the Tuesday firings. That ended the following morning when Boob said Getz is their frontrunner. If someone less qualified than Kenny or Rick take over, I'll just wait until Jerry is gone before following closely again, assuming I still care. If they hire someone credible from beyond the organization, I will resume following the team and give it a chance. They sucked me in this weekend with the shooting and White Sox/Jerry Reinsdorf way of handling it (incompetence, minimal transparency or concern for fans, non credible communication, national embarrassment). Not much else to follow at this stage until the announcement.- GT 8/28: SOX @ BAL, 6:05 pm, If a team wins two in a row . . .
Can Eloy handle the rigors of first base for more than a few weeks without breaking down? He’s had trouble remaining on the field this season as a DH. Consecutive games missed by season (2+): 2023: 8, 21, 4, 2, 4 2022: 2, 65, 4 2021: 99, 4, 2 2020: 2, 3 2019: 3, 21, 11, 2, 2- Reinsdorf considers moving White Sox out of Guaranteed Rate Field or selling team
Yes, and he has no demonstrable knowledge of the sport, despite this being his primary business for 42 years, and proclaiming on multiple occasions how smart he is and how dumb his competitors are. His bragging is worse than Hahn’s throughout the years. They are all unqualified insular morons, and it looks as though Getz has been chosen to carry the torch. - GT 8/28: SOX @ BAL, 6:05 pm, If a team wins two in a row . . .
