Collins/Grandal need to both be in the lineup all 3 days and Sheets at least 2 of the 3.

Madrigal was ruled out for the season two weeks ago. If they couldn't get things together to get JR's approval to take on salary before his wife died yesterday then they are incompetent.

It could be Burdi. When Engel went back on the IL, they brought up Burdi instead of another position player so the bench has been a man short for a while now.

On Saturday Seattle was here for the last/only time this season and calling the game meant a DH the next day. Minnesota is back in July and calling the game means they can push the DH to July when more players are back from the IL.

They know the Sox aren't giving up Collins or Burger. They also know the Sox could move on to bigger targets (as could other teams). They also know trading him today saves them $1.5 million more than trading him July 31. There is plenty of motivation on their side to get this done soon without having to get the Sox to overpay.

At least some of Abreu, Engel, Hamilton, Eaton, Kopech should be available in July but not tomorrow.

There is a lack of understanding of the relationship between Emergency Use Authorization and Full FDA Approval because Emergency Use Authorization has never come into play in such a widespread manner before, so very few people have heard of it or understand it. The time it takes to get full FDA approval makes it really inconsequential in the midst of a pandemic that is this severe and spreads this quickly. If we didn't use these vaccines before full FDA approval, the Delta variant would have wiped out another million or so people by now. Cancer patients whose life expectancy is measured in months rather than years use new drugs and treatments that are Emergency Use Authorization all the time.

I've looked at the forecast and I believe there is a doubleheader tomorrow.

How long does she need to wait? The first people were vaccinated 6 months ago. What does she need to see? The data showing that the number of lives saved by COVID is far, far outweighing the handful of complications. "Wait and see" means "The opinion of my political party is different from what the data is saying, so I'm going to go looking for data that is different so I can claim I'm basing my decisions on science rather than politics."
