  1. Neither will mine. One of my favorite Sox ever. Joe Crede does not suck. Doesn't he have one more homer than Thome in this his suckiest season? Just sayin.
  2. Please don't trade Beckham or Lexi. Anybody else is OK with me, even CQ, though I preferhe not be traded as well.
  3. Well this great pitcher has sucked on the road this year. He is not worth 6 million clams a year, he just isn't. I don't care if he isn't a closer and the standard is lower for set up guys. Why does he get a pass for all these bad outings, especially ones on the road. Would you guys really be upset if we dealt Dotel? Are you related to him? Why all the love for Octavio Dotel?
  4. Your posts about the dome and our play there are funny. p.s. Joe Crede doesn't suck.
  5. I know we overvalue our players, but I'd hate to see us give up Lexi and/or Beckham in a Halladay deal. I guess I'd be OK with Gavin. I'm hoping Kenny doesn't ship away everyday players for a pitcher who could get hurt at any time. Why don't we instead try to get Cliff Lee? Maybe Cleveland would never consider shipping him to a division rival, but couldn't we get Lee on the cheap? Pitchers are so fragile nowadays. Look at Harden. Doesn't he suck this year?
  6. Why is it unnecessary? It's exciting. How many times did he use it tonight? I heard it at the end of game.
  7. I hope Gordon improves his D. He's a good hitter.
  8. 14 hits almost weren't enough. But they were enough. We win.
  9. We get the hell yes! Great call by Stoney!! Said it was going to ss! Stoney is a god.
  10. We're f***ed. He's not pitching well.
  11. Wow. Not much to say.
  12. If we somehow lose tonight, we should just forfeit all games in the dome.
  13. The kid Gordon giveth and taketh away. This game is in serious jeopardy.
  14. Not a good sign. Had two strikes on him. Why not the heater Bobby?
  15. Anybody notice Dotel has sucked on the road lately? Last night he got the loss. At KC, at Cleveland, and two games at Cincy, all outings he gave up runs, multi hits in all but one of the games. His overall road numbers aren't good with 11 walks and 17 hits in 16 innings with 17 strikouts and an 0-3 record. Must be nice when you can make 6 mill a year and be a set up man. If he was doing that as a closer, he'd be crucified in the media and by fans. Now he's still considered good.
  16. It's such an obvious angle the reporters have to bring it up and the players have to respond to it. The media has to go after the obvious story lines. AJ's response last night was better than some of the stuff we've heard before. He said "So?" when the told him minnie has won nine of 10 against us there or 10 of 11. Let's face it the odds of a sweep are huge right now. Detroit won that 17 inning game up there and Minnesota then won the next two like that 17 inning heartbreaker was no big deal.
  17. True. But Mauer's batting average is so good right now, it seemed the obvious move with first base open. If it's a close game, let's see what we're going to be b****ing about tonight cause we don't win close games up there.
  18. If Dotel is as valuable as you say, and teams will really want him and his salary, then by all means trade him now.
  19. As far as the retractable roof, wasn't it too expensive? I think voters kept voting down new stadium plans. The only hope was an all outdoor place I think. I can't understand the umps' horrible strike zone squeezing pitchers but it's been this way for years now. Umpires invented their own strike zone and nobody has ever really explained why.
  20. Can't argue with a thing soutsideirish wrote. The way I see it is the only way we're ever going to win there is to get between 15-20 hits in a game and still we'll probalby just win 12-8 or something. We're not going to win if the game is tied or we're down a run after six innings there, that is for sure. I can't see our starters holding them down in the dome. Our only hope is to just have a game where we mash the ball from start to finish and how many games do any teams have like that? Thank God we won the coinflip last year.
  21. I don't think anybody will be putting the Twins out of the race. They're not going anywhere in our crappy division. I wish Detroit would start playing as poorly as everybody else.
  22. Another reason it was no moral victory from Mark Gonzales of the Tribune: The Sox issued six walks Friday night, and five resulted in runs, including the tie-breaker in the seventh inning that enabled Minnesota to take a 6-4 victory at the Metrodome. The loss dropped the Sox 3 1/2 games behind American League Central leader Detroit.
