  1. Yeah, it was nearly perfect for me. They got the 11-0 right, but the Royals got three hits. Bummer, but I'll take the 11-0. Think I'll go grab a beer to celebrate. Very nice win and hopefully we can finish ahead of the pissants royals.
  2. Moving runners over, veterans hitting, good pitching, if they'd played like this all year they'd have won the pennant again. GO SOX!
  3. I go with MacDougal because his early implosion helped set the tone for this horrific bullpen. I also despise Uribe's season for some reason. He sucked.
  4. I'd like to see an 11-0 Sox win and a no hitter by Lance. Or an 11-8 win and have Bobby get another save. Three homers by Fields would be nice as well.

My grades for "this year" only. Mark Buehrle: B-plus Javier Vazquez: B-plus Jose Contreras: D, I wouldn't argue F. Jon Garland: B Jon Danks: C, I wouldn't argue C-. Bobby Jenks: A-plus. Mike MacDougal: F David Aardsma: F Boone Logan: B- Ehren Wasserman: B Mike Myers: F Matt Thornton: F Ryan Bukvich: F AJP: C-minus Paul Konerko: C-minus Jim Thome: A-minus Iguchi: C- Richar: C- Juan Uribe: D to D- Josh Fields: A-minus or B-plus Scott Pods: C- Erstad: D Jermaine Dye: C Jerry Owens: B, I probably should give him an A- for good rookie numbers. Toby Hall: F Andy Gonzalez: F Alex Cintron: D-minus Buckwich - F. Ozzie Guillen: D (not a good year for Oz though I love him) Kenny Williams: F (horrible year for KW though I like him) The Fans: A The team, which is most important: A resounding F. A total embarrassment of a season. The veterans with the exception of the starting pitchers failed miserably when it mattered if we had runners. Absoultely no team speed again until Owens played and he didn't hit much until lately when it appears he just might be a damn good player. All the veteran hitters did was strand runners when it mattered. The bullpen was one of the worst in modern Sox history if not baseball history. The managing was poor as Oz couldn't motivate the troops this time. The general managing was awful as KW made all the wrong moves. Terrible decision to bring in Erstad, horrible calls on the bullpen. Disgraceful season. Fans deserve credit for showing up all year.
  6. He ain't killing me. 33 home runs and counting! Way to go, Jimmy. You've put together a fine season stat-wise after all.
  7. Hokay. It was a good win.
  8. I thought the same think, Squirt. Of course many vocal people on this board wish we would have lost all the games to the Cubs, then we'd have gotten a higher draft pick. Admit it, several of you wish we'd gotten swept by the Cubs, right?
  9. Getting rid of Jon Garland is not necessarily a way to become a contender again. Have you noticed all the bad pitchers in baseball today? If I was a GM I would want Garland over a lot of other pitchers. It's easy to take guys you have on your team for granted. Garland is not half bad. Tell me, who do you want in the rotation next year? If you say Danks, Floyd, Gio, Haeger etc., you are looking at a lot of 5 inning outings.
  10. Exactly, Dick Allen. Hopefully KW will realize the guy is a slug and eat the contract. I truly believe I could get a base hit off Myers. Yes, I'm a righthanded hitter.
  11. Now that's the way to handle a s***ty team!! Great job Garland!! Tremendous victory. I didn't realize Owens had 30 plus stolen bases. That, if true, is a lot. Maybe he is the answer. GO SOX!!!! Keep on Winning!!!!
  12. I'm not whining, I'm pissed we lost. Pissed we're behind KC. And you have no right to tell me what to do. So lay off. I'm embarrassed we are worse than KC. It means something to me. Who cares about a no name draft pick.
  13. How anybody can celebrate that hack Myers' implosion is beyond me. How anybody can stomach losing to those pissant Royals is beyond me. Finishing behind them in the standings should be embarrassing to all Sox fans. Finishing behind them (as much as I hate to say it) should cost every Sox exec their jobs. The Royals suck and we, SADLY, are worse. f*** draft picks! Give me wins! The Sox are a total embarrassment two years after being the best.
  14. Kudos to Fields. He's been a definite bright spot. Now if they can just find a position for him where he doesn't cost us run after run.
  15. You are right, he reminded me of a bad hitting pitcher. BA went from being a stud prospect to nothing. Baseball is a cruel game.
  16. 5 for 5 is amazing. Even at this stage of his season, how many points did his average go up that one day?
  17. Bench Rex. Wait, that's for a diffrent board.
  18. Sisco sucks. I hoipe we never see him again.
  19. I agree to a certain extent. If you remember, early on we were getting great starting pitching for a good chunk of the season. Even with the bad offense, if we had a "good" bullpen we probably still could have hovered around .500 for a while. Then if the bullpen was "good" and several players (AJP, Paulie, Thome, Dye) actually hit, I think we could have contended. We had a playoff caliber starting rotation for a while. It was the bullpen that stunk.
  20. I give him credit for a nice season. The way I see it is if several other players had performed to their capabilities as well as Javy has, we'd be in the playoffs. Good job Javy
  21. I'd love to see some SS Hitmen highlights. Actually some highlights of Kittle and Bull Luzinski and Dick Allen. Also some Carlton Fisk highlights as well as Peters/Horlen if anybody has links.
  22. He's seen enough bad baseball this season.
  23. It was a perfect time to get to Johan. Any time we hit that Sox killer is the right time.
  24. What's the story on Anderson? What was his injury and how many months did he miss? What'd he hit? Do the Sox have any plans for him at all? If not you think they'd ship him out and give him a chance somewhere else. You never hear the guy's name in talks about the future. I mean he still does exist. What's the verdict on BA and his future with the Sox?
  25. I would think season ticket sales would take a major hit, but maybe the Sox have developed a loyal following of 30,000 or so who will come every night regardless. I would think tickets would be a hard sell for next season unless chicago is full of people with lots of disposable income who have learned to love going to the games since the magical season of 05.
