White Sox vs. Tigers, 7/24/07 (DH)Game 2(W)
I don't blame him for making moves. I just don't like the fact most of his moves blew up in his face.

Tigers-White Sox DH
This is why they should have played some of the rainout makeups back in April. Now we're guaranteed to lose both. Back then, who knows? It was earlier in the season and the team hadn't quit yet and the bullpen wasn't a trainwreck yet. p.s. Does anybody have KW's email address and Ozzie's? I realize this is stupid but I want to put in a request to refuse to play the Cubs in all day games next season. Why are those 3 games in the Cell against the Cub always day games? The Cubs have an advantage in day games. Play the Cubs at night!!! Go Sox!

Why do you still watch the Sox?
That is it. We're die hards. But the team does truly suck.

Todays Roster Moves
Well said. Owens is not the answer. Nice job tonight by Owens 1-for-6; Iguchi 1-4; Thome 0-5; Paulie 0-4. Way to set the table against the Tigers guys. How bad was Mark? Wow. This team like you said truly is garbage.

Does Owens stink?
Just wonder what you all think? Does Owens stink or is he just learning how to hit in the bigs? I have not been impressed with his slap hitting. Wouldn't Harris have been just as productive as this guy? Just wondering. Does Owens have a future? Or should he have remained in football?

Tigers-White Sox DH
This DH could be ugly.

Contreras
Trade Contreras to the Mets for a minor league shortstop. Or trade him to the Braves for somebody.

It's Official: We Are Now Tied for Last Place in the Central
Really, when you think about it, we fielded a last place team on Sunday. Look at the lineup. Owens, gee nice of you to once again not get a big hit when it was 3-1 and runner on second and two outs and you weakly fouled off about 10 pitches before feebly popping out. You and your three RBIs have really been productive. What a stiff that guy is. Cintron ... decent backup. Terrible regular. Thome, Konerko, AJ: Go 1-12 combined. We always lose when they don't hit as a group and more often than not THIS SEASON they don't. Dye: Off season. Mack: Good sub. Lousy regular. Fields: Bad baserunning error angered the Hawk today. He has potential obviously. Uribe: Three hits today and we still lose. We need to go in another direction at short. Jon: Stunk today. Has had a good season as have all our starters except the Count. Bullpen: So bad it's laughable. It's a last place bullpen. We stink. We are worthy of the cellar. So slow on the basepaths, incapable of bunting. Bad bad team.

2007 Post ASB White Sox Catch-All Thread
It really sucks to have the roles reversed this summer. The Cubs are the old White Sox. They are in contention and winning every day. We are not and losing most days. This truly sucks.

Contreras
I'd have to agree with everything you said. He's kind of Kip Wells-ish right now.
-
This all falls on KW
And don't forget MacDougal. He was not beloved in Kansas City because of his wildness. It was truly foolish. We need a reliable veteran like Hermy was. MacD was the hope; but he is truly truly hopeless.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!
Paulie is making a bid to become one of the top five players in White Sox history. Frank is No. 1.

Our 2008 Outfield
We've got to add Hunter. We can't win with our current crew and/or our minor league crew ready to come up. We should have signed Soriano last offseason. He would have looked good in a Sox uniform.
-
Nick Masset to AAA
Sure. I guess. Hope so. Thank God Aardsma is gone; it's time to see what Wasserman can do. At least the Sox are throwing bodies at the problem.

Middle relief
For some reason, I envision the knuckleballer as a reliever yet another disaster. I'm just saying the relief situation is not fixable until the offseason apparently so why not shift a starter to the set up role and either let Charlie or Floyd give starting a try? I repeat it's for the rest of this season only. Or trade Pods or Mack for a middle reliever somewhere. I guess reality suggests we'll find out soon if Haeger can do the job in relief.

Albert Belle interested in owning White Sox
That "Keep Buehrle, trade Kenny Williams" sign by the little girl is wild. As much as KW flusters me sometimes, he gets a free pass for a while because of the World title. KW seems like the type of guy who'd calmly walk down and chat with that girl and her dad during the game. I wonder what they'd do if he did that.
-
And thats a White Sox loser !
Mack might be OK. As long as I don't watch the game. I don't think I've ever seen that guy nail a base hit during games I get to see here. I realize he got four hits in a game versus the Twins and had a good game the other night.

Middle relief
I decided to make this a thread since there are so few new threads. Consider this please ... The Sox middle relief or set up relief is pretty hopeless obviously. In an attempt to improve one part of our team for the rest of the season, how about moving Vaz or Mark B or even Contreras to a relief role the rest of this season only. And let the knuckleballer start. I mean if the Sox hope to make any run at all, the Sox need somebody who can get somebody out in a set up role. Since KW can't make a trade to save his life, I wonder if you like this suggestion. Repeat, this is for the rest of this year only. This improves the bullpen and the Sox can then fire Walker which should fire up the offense.
-
And thats a White Sox loser !
Back to the dumpster. Anemic offense. By the way, who do you want to lead off? Just asking. It's a shame the Sox are wasting such good starting pitching.

Albert Belle interested in owning White Sox
With all the Cuban to Cubs talk, I was thinking today about what will happen when Jerry dies. Who will buy the Sox? I think Cuban's a better fit with the Sox than the Flubs.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
I see Mariotti ripped Ozzie again. The Sox are 7 under .500 with no bullpen and all these injuries and the horrible acquisitions of Erstad and Hall and the terrible hitting of our veterans. I think 7 under .500 is about right.
-
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
This seems like a good thread to ask the question. Seriously, to all of you who I trust with knowledge of baseball: Can you identify or could KW identify somebody the Sox could acquire from a non contender to pitch the sixth and seventh innings or seventh and eighth preferably? Is anybody out there we could get for a prospect or two? Anybody???
-
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Thome, Konerko, AJ and Dye hit ... we win. It's pretty simple. That said, can KW find a middle reliever somewhere, anywhere? We can't keep trotting these guys out there. Isn't there somebody we can acquire for a prospect or two? I mean it seems stupid to have the above mentioned veterans try to heat up if we're not going to make some minor adjustments to the pen. We can't win with these stiffs out there. Oz had to just puke watching Day.

2nd Half Schedule
Man it could get REALLY ugly quick. If we play like we did the first half, we could lose 8-9 of those road games and 4-5 to Detroit. Seriously, if we hit like we did first half and the bullpen acts as it did first half, I predict we lose 3-4 to Bal; we lose all 3 to Cleve and all 4 to Boston. Then we lose 3 of five to Detroit. If we hit like we are supposed to hit, we'll win 2 in Baltimore, one in Cleveland and 2 in Boston. Then 3 or 4 versus Detroit.

Was the All-Star game depressing for you too?
It definitely does look bleak unless guys return to the form of a year ago. Iguchi, Thome, Konerko, Crede, Dye, AJ still have all star possibilities. They are having bad years, but are they done? That's doubtful. Jenks, Mark, Garland. I'm agreeing it looks bad now, but is it one bad year or will these guys revert to all star form?
