  1. Not trying to argue here but in modern statnikdom, isn't a hitter supposed to hit a HR or K? For most value? He was hitting HRs.
  2. Better team won tonight. Just a normal L.
  3. Sell him as Sheets II. Once he gets away he can reach his potential.
  4. I'm so happy for Sheets. Can only imagine what it's like to play for a bottom 2-3 organization in MLB. That's why I want Vaughn traded. He seems like another good guy, like Sheets. Would love to see Vaughn go somewhere and rake. I find it hard to believe it's been years since we've had a really good team on paper. Before the first tank job we were consistently a team that on paper had a chance. we were a team with real major league players. Now I'm in love with Beni and somebody on here yesterday showed me his stats reek as well. In conclusion ... Jerry, order the trade of Vaughn. Give him a chance like Sheets to excel somewhere and make some cash.
  5. Sheets has 10 homers and 31 RBI's. Do the same favor to Vaughn. Get him on another team's roster. Sheets might hit 30 homers this year? Laughable we let him go if he does that.
  6. I don't go by new school stats. he hit 20 homers last year and 64 rbi's and won me over. Though I thought he hit better. He only hit .229 yikes. This year I thought he was in the .260 range but it's only .219. 2017, 18 and 21 he was pretty good. I guess if he is under .250 I shouldn't love him too much. I still think he'd be of value to a contender.
  7. Jake Burger is an example of our team's crumminess. Likeable figure, a fan favorite with power. Ah get rid of him, that's the ticket.
  8. I see my guy Beni had a bad game. Three K's. His first really rotten game in a while u gotta admit. Beni-fan is I.
  9. Beni is one of the few players on the roster who could have played for all our playoff teams thru history. Maybe the only one.
  10. I'm surprised Beni isn't getting more love from us traditionalist fans and more love from the tank/rebuild people. The guys is a real big league hitter. Very surprising a contender doesn't try to pry him away from the Sox. He's worth the $ he makes. He's a good ballplayer. Is this Sosa guy a budding star? Sox had the lift and pull working today.
  11. Dunno. I change my mind a lot. Today I was in a bad sox mood cause of Vaughn/Elko decision. In one day they yanked two of nine regulars from the starters list.
  12. White Sox sure don't look promising to me. No talent in the organization or very little.
  13. They should have released Vaughn. Sending him down is silly, stupid, dumb. Nice to see them messing with Elko's head already (sarcasm). Another sad day in franchise history.
  14. Agreed. I know in life people want to be respected, at least most of them care. Maybe billionaires don't care about garnering respect. But a guy Jerry's age ... you can't beat father time and a lot of us normal people now have a very poor opinion or Jerry because of his ruining a proud franchise and making it a mockery in a great city. So Jerry nobody lives forever and your legacy believe it or not is not just the Bulls titles and Sox WS title. Yes you may think you are forever beloved for those things. Sorry ... your ruination of a fine franchise is part of your legacy now. And your not caring about your team or thousands of people in your city who once loved that team is a part of your legacy. Jerry ... you are a mockery nationally sir.
  15. Great article by Sullivan. First of all there weren't even 1,000 people in the park, much less 10,000. The fact teams lie about fans actually in the stands is annoying. Lip can you get us accurate attendance figures for yesterday's game? Great take by Sullivan when he wrote: "For a second straight year, the season is essentially over before Memorial Day, and only die-hards and folks with free tickets are still around to watch how it plays out." No excuse to not play all the young guys. Bring a few more of the prospects up and play Meidroth, Elko, Quero and any other prospect six of every seven games. To the handful of fans still embracing the tank/rebuild, I'm waiting for arguments we should stop playing Quero since these games mean nothing and we need to save his legs for the seasons the games matter again. I would think that's something the tank lovers would say. Every game he plays, those knees get some wear and tear for a .300 team. I still think this unit is better than last year's wretched team, but we are 18 games out of first with every other team in our division over .500. We've said it til we are blue in the face but, thanks Jerry for nothing. Your team has a .300 win percentage and the fourth place team in the division is 13 games ahead of Chicago in the loss column. 10,000 fans there yesterday? Yeah right. How bout 850. Tell the truth, Sox.
  16. Meidroth good. Robert bad. Too bad the shift got Meidroth on that last at bat of the game. He roped it up the middle.
  17. Three more K's for Robert tonight. Man he is not good at this game called baseball. Once in a blue moon he lights one up for a HR. Once in a while he makes a great leaping catch, but he surely stinks.
  18. Luis Robert needs some tough love. Can u imagine Lasorda working with this guy? Isn't Robert sick of hitting below .200? It should be embarrassing that he doesn't even get two hits every 10 at bats. Why in the green earth would an MLB team want to trade for Robert? Granted he's fluid in center field on defense. But he has to be one of the worst hitters BA wise in Sox history for a regular. Get some pride, Robert. You should be able to hit .250 in your sleep. You are at what, .186?
  19. We're 0-7 vs. the Cubs and Royals. So the team blows against the Cubs of the NL and all Central teams in the AL. I'm not saying the team is that bad this year compared to last.
  20. Why are the bats so quiet as summer nears? Beni baby must return.
  21. Elko needs at bats and a lot of 'em at the MLB level. Vaughn needs a change of scenery. I need to check and see how Sheets is doing after his fast start.
  22. It's totally tanking as their way of rebuilding. The organization's only obvious "plan" is to have a few stars, trade them when they get close to making some real cash and acquire some kids who one year will all click at the same time while under cost control and grab us a trophy.
  23. I'm not one of 'em. You should follow greg's posts closely cause tanking/rebuilding to me is un-sportsmanlike, against all tenets of sports and America, really. p.s. I'm starting to think the reason I think the Sox are on the right track though is cause they lead in almost every game this year. The Sox jump out to first inning leads a lot. Little concerned of the pitching in the Cub series.
  24. Not trolling. Every one of those guys I mentioned except Robert and Vaughn can hit and those two need to hit. The lineup is not that bad. Last year with DeJong and Co. it was lousy.
  25. Nor will the city of Chicago voters build 'em a new park. So will they be forced to move? Actually the Cell is a fine ballpark, though dull. And it's relatively new in terms of ballparks. Keep that one if no taxpayer is gonna pay.
