Trade with the Dodgers, someone jsut posted it...
Why would we trade maggs, borchard and cotts?? If we make this deal maybe Reinsdork has lost his mind.

Joe Crede not as good as expected
This is a good post, cause we all love Crede. Go Joe. You gots lots of fans on here.

For the Upset Fans.
I stand by my quote. Maggs is so much better player than Nomar it is sick. Maggs is taken for granted because he plays here and we see him every day. I laugh at people who think other players are so much better than the ones we have here. You think Nomar hustles every play??? Give me a break. No ballplayer today truly hustles like Brett, et. all. Maggs is as good as they come in the 2000s.

For the Upset Fans.
Nomar is nowhere near the talent Maggs is. How can anyone argue that???

KW sucks as a GM
I'd rather have Maggs than Nomar. Just another bad KW trade is coming.
-
Sun Times Article
You can bet Evans will not give us all those players. He will wait and wait and rip off KW like all good GMs do. I wish we'd just keep Maggs his final year and work on improving our club in other ways. The guy is a freaking star, but I guess we don't have the money and we have to win with no name players.

Maggs trade
At the risk of beating a dead horse, if we trade Maggs it really looks to the general public like a white flag sale. And we will quickly be becoming the Cleveland Indians if we do so.

Graffy signs with the Royals
Good point, Texsox, except this is starting to show something. Graff thinks the Royals have a better chance to win than the stale Sox, who are making no moves to improve. Good luck selling tickets, Mr. Reinsdork.

An interesting rumor
Oops i really didn't mean to put f**gs. I should have hit spellcheck. Forgive me maggs. I didn't mean f**gs.

An interesting rumor
If we trade Maggs, I hope I have the balls to finallly give up on the Sox. It'd be a lifelong habit to break, but I really don't want to follow a team that trades aggs for anybody, much less those 2 guys. If he gets traded I hope it's to the Cubs and maybe I'll switch over. Pardon my being a dick, but this offseason is mighty frustrating so far.

Daubach Released!
I agree with Spat. Daubach's role was difficult and he sucked at it. I thought he'd be great when we picked him up, but he sure did suck. It's probably partly the way he was used, but I'd rather give a young guy his at bats.

Pessimism central
You forgave him when he signed Belle? No disrespect, but Belle was a disaster. We never seem to sign the right guys. You folks lit into me last year but I still wish we'd signed Thome. Hell right now I wish we had Miles with Alomar leaving.

Sully & Stairs To the Royals...
This is really puzzling. How did we get Sully in the first place? I forget. Did we give up prospects? To not sign Sully and lose him to the Royals is kind of depressing even though he didn't pitch worth a s*** for us. He was a god, small g, in cincy and players cried the day he was dealt. I mean what are we doin? Signing Sullivan might have been a smart thing to do unless we feel he's lost it. This offseason is moderately depressing, especially when Big Hurt had his career year (his 30s career year) last season.

The Royals get EVEN BETTER
Benito is too old.
-
Uribe
Great line. He does sound like another D'Angelo. I hope this guy can pull his head outta his but and play some ball. Let's see, if we play Uribe we go from 29 homers at ss to about 3. That ain't gonna make us a better team, folks.

Ponson better than Colon
Cubkilla said: "All Ponson is is a fat Jon Garland. And in a perfect world, JG would be our #5 starter or (preferably) our long reliever..... not our #3. " Great line. I never thought of that, but I thorougly agree. I do not like Ponson. Why do we want him so bad? Are we never going to rest til we get Weaver and Ponson? I dislike both.

Uribe
do you folks think uribe is a good player/hitter possibility or is he more similar to Caruso?

2004 Ticket Prices
I think it's great that you folks who live in Chi are waiting to see who we acquire before ponying up the money. I mean times have changed. Loyalty means nothing. I say wait and see what product they are gonna put on the field. There's no reason we should be as cheap as the R's and Twins but we are. SELL THE TEAM DORK.
-
Royals
Isn't Benito Santiago something like 70 years old? Looks to me like the Royals and Twins aren't interested in winning anymore. If Reinsdork would suck it up and raise payroll 20 mill, we might win the division every year from now on. Question: WOuld an extra 20 mill result in so many extra tickets and concessions and parking, and merchandise sales, etc that it would be worth it even to Reinsdork?? I mean we could dominate this division if we spent some money which I realize we won't do with dork in charge.

Caple Column on Sox Scout
It is great to read players posts! Chisoxfan ... Good point. It looks like Self has the team rolling, though the fifth starter broke his collarbone today. Self is a breath of fresh air though, very friendly, nice, approachable, in many ways different from the ex coach. I hope all scouts have a happy tgiving.
-
Scott Scheoneweis
Anybody else get the feeling we will get off to another slow start again next year?
-
Caple Column on Sox Scout
Unbelievable story. Happy thanksgiving everyone.

Aaron Rowand
Why does Valentin play so much ball? Why doesn't he rest one winter.

Garland signs a 1-year deal
I wonder what Garland's story in life is. Does he have a dad? A former coach? Somebody who could take him under his wing and light some incredible fire? It's obvious he is a talented pitcher who needs some work upstairs. I could be off base but reading between the lines I bet he is one of those guys players like Pudge Fisk hated. Ones who don't want advice. Garland is a stud who needs some pitching coach/authority figure to get him to want it. Or perhaps I don' t know what the f*** I'm talking about, but it's a theory, anyway.

Say What You Want Bout Mariotti...
great post, yasny. I agree.
