  1. I'd be OK with that. If Sox don't win it all this year, might as well move on, It's not like he is some young manager needing "time" to get a full feel for the club. Give somebody else a chance (assuming Sox are done after today).
  2. Pretty hard to be a fan of a modern day pitching staff when six full innings out of a Sox starter is a miracle. Maybe next year the starters will be 100 percent healthy and will be able to dominate/extend. Easy to second guess but Dallas K becoming horrid did not help complete the rebuild. Have mercy on me. I'm dejected right now.
  3. I should probably just shut up, but five innings in, I'm very disappointed in the team and Tony.
  4. I now am a Cusack fan. Mentions LaMarr Hoyt and Mike Squires. He wins baby. If you are both a Sox and Cubs fan somehow more power to you. It CAN happen. My grandfather on mom's side was the only Cub fan in the family really. He took his grandkid, me, to many Cub games. I enjoyed them all. My dad, who had ties to Sox management, had season Sox tix when I was a kid. I went to a ton of Sox games with him. My dad never yelled at me for going to Cub games with gramps. Meanwhile we hit high school and dad let me use the four box seats in the summer A LOT. My friends and I loved a ton of Sox games and by then I disliked the Cubs or was at the most not caring about the Cubs. Was I a Cub fan as a kid? For sure AND a Sox fan. I attended a ton of Cub and Sox games. My grandpa was a quiet guy and I'm sure appreciated getting to take his grandkid to games he cared about. He couldn't get into the Sox but never ripped them in my presence. GO CUSACK! Love em both.
  5. I agree. The guy is famous and wearing the Sox gear. Who cares if he likes the Cubs more?
  6. I know you are kidding, but cmon. That's assault and will rightly put a fan in jail if they do as you suggest.
  7. Somebody could write a great essay on how message boards are microcosms of society.
  8. Been thinking about this more. I am not a fan of Tepera bringing this up. This kind of stuff rarely works for the team alleging stuff. It could anger the Stros' hitters, though. I do salute Tony's statement on some writer's Twitter: "I don't get into that stuff. This is America. Players can say what they want to. They're a very good team. They're tough to beat." Sox better gear up, though. This indeed might fire up a few of the Stros veterans who will be ready to punish the baseball even more after this. ... Not sure how much TV will play this up on the broadcast. I'd guess a lot but if they do they better go into the scandal in depth, cause what the Astros did was really bad and some people got penalized heavily for it. Don't just mention it as "White Sox pitcher criticizes Astros; let's see their response." If you are gonna make it a big deal, better bring the goods and tell the world (again), remind the world what Houston did.
  9. Baseball is done, .It's boring for the young-uns period. For the. older traditionalists and those brought up on the game who are older, it's been ruined by the overemphasis on the home run and K. True baseball fans go to batting practice to watch home runs. They don't need them as the only highlight of a game. It used to be artwork to watch a starting pitcher work his way through a game, all the way to the, get this, the NINTH INNING! Now, LOL. Hacks entering in the fifth until the ninth when usually the closer is worth watching. 3.5 hour to 4.5 hour games. LOL. Anyhow the one-game playoff series are insulting and frankly disgusting. Why? Baseball is a marathon season which caters to traditionalists and statniks and lovers of history. We know a one-game series means nothing except good gate and concessions and parking for one team and a trophy for the other team. Blah.
  10. Glad to see a heartfelt apology.
  11. Thank goodness it's postponed. Would have been agony with rain in the area and Tstorms. Now pitch whoever is ready, win and bring it to Houston. ... Should be interesting to see if this cheaters story progresses with a full day to fester. No reason for the Sox to go there. Think it ... don't say it. It's bad for baseball and very stupid to pretend motivation this way.
  12. I watched the game and also watched a few other Rice games. I disagree on JC being best team in state. Their defense obviously is not special and somebody's going to shut down that big back. I love Rice and don't like to criticize high school kids at all. I'll just say again they didn't seem very interested on this night in gang tackling or physicality. They usually have no problem in that area. As far as new Rice coach, good to hear. Is Badke OK with the guy observing all season? I'm a Badke supporter and would think it's not great if it's not being handled perfectly. You know way way way more than me regarding wht's going on there now. Why's the new guy gonna be really good? Just curious. Obviously I want him and the players to succeed. Br Rice football has been pretty darn good in the Badke era. Time flies. I remember asking you about Badke when he got hired. Geez. Time flies.
  13. I agree with this. Not a huge deal but it seems silly at best (accuse past cheaters of cheating again? cmon) and bad for baseball at best (not a good motivational ploy here without proof; it's just not). At worst, if it's true, give some proof or don't bring it up. I would say the commish can't be happy with Game Four storyline bringing up the Astros cheating again. I mean THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN STRIPPED OF THE TITLE. Case close and they weren't Sox should have leaked to the media they suspect stealing signs and let the media run with that while denying all comment.
  14. Maybe but it's pretty simple. Sox are great at home; pretty terrible on the road. Doesn't mean we can't win by four tomorrow then win a crazy Game Five. Sox deserve karma to reverse the joke of a loss to the Orioles in Game Four on Dybber's baserunning mistake. Sox woulda won in five that year Baseball gods got to correct the error.
  15. Please don't rain. I want our hitters to have a shot at another convincing win at home and bring it to Houston where Sox 'might' win if it's their year.
  16. What's the difference if they have to sit out a 4 hour rain delay and start the game at 8?
  17. Yes but no. We are good enough to bring it back to Houston.
  18. Of course they should move tomorrow's game to evening. Otherwise It's gonna get delayed til evening right? Rain?
  19. Good job, White Sox. Get home by 1:30 a.m., sleep til 10, get to park by 11 and bring the bats again. Not that difficult to win another at home then put it all on the line against the cheaters.
  20. Sox will win if our pitchers can keep this game at 5. That's a big big if tonight.
  21. Hey hey baby! HR. Fans haven't given up at the Cell. They are GOING WILD.
  22. This series isn't Tony's fault. But if Sox do lose in 3 it shows he wasn't the lightning in a bottle the franchise needed. So yeah, it would be time for Tony to step down. One year experiment was worth it Oops Grandal misses cookie.
  23. If the Sox do get blown out at least AJP is the announcer not holding back.
  24. This season has been so bizarre I don't even know what to say. The team has shown big time flaws yet every day you'd look at mlb.com and we were up 10 in the standings. It's not over yet but team is continuing to look totally overmatched against the elite teams it plays. For the record I haven't given up but you have to admit this season has been very unusual
  25. I still love Cease. What can I say?
