Gamethread?
When a team is not even trying to win, when it is affecting the playoffs because of certain teams getting to beat up the Sox more times than others, it's unfair and I would welcome the team getting contracted then bringing a new team to the south side. The Sox single-handedly were responsible for the Royals making the playoffs last year. Surprised no one is agreeing with me. I want Rate Field occupied, just not with Jerry's minor league team that plays a major league schedule.

Gamethread?
No worse than the garbage product on the field the past many months/years. It's disgraceful how many opponents' seasons the Sox turn around after getting swept by them. Add the A's to the list.

Gamethread?
Would there be an uproar in Chicago if the Sox moved? Seriously. Would anybody actually care in 2025 if the Sox said they were playing the rest of the season in Vegas with plans to relocate to Nashville?

Veeck at least tried to sell seats and bring in at least one intriguing name: He brought in Zisk, Blumberg, who else, a batch of guys. And the low paid stiffs he brought in were way better than the current throw ins.

I don't care but I like amusing stats that embarrass our owner.

Fire Chris Getz
I had a question: Is our pitching on the whole way worse this season? The first handful of games it looked like we might have a surprise excellent pitching staff. Same question about the everyday lineup. Is it worse or does the improved defense make the everyday lineup better than last year? So I won't be accused of only asking, I'd say our pitching staff may actually be a lot worse and the everyday lineup a little better with Sosa and Meidroth. If Beni and Vaughn start hitting that's four good hitters.

Very true. But no dummy, he knew he was walking into 100 losses minimum. So it's on him. His wallet is probably happy. Certainly he's making more than he did as a mere coach.

They lost me. Used to never miss a game. This season and last no mlb.com and I wouldn't watch an inning if you sent me a free yearly subscription to do so.

I wonder how many people really were there. Seriously, was there more than 1,000?

Is Sosa emerging? He's up to .280 in old man's stats. Give the A's credit. They did what the Central Division teams did vs. the Sox last year. Feast on them and help turn their seasons around.

4/16 Game Thread - > Sox vs A's
Tiny crowd. Saw it on twitter; highlight of Baldwin homer. This 12th round pick might be a keeper. Baldwin baby. To go with Meidroth.

Crochet speaks...
When you lose as long as the Sox have lost and your owner has made it clear you are suckers as fans and you can either root for this crap product or take a hike, you get jaded and don't mind criticism of the wretched team/organization. Jerry hasn't apologized once, has he, for this crud?

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Is Robert the most overrated player in Sox history? He's still just 27 so I guess he has the statlovers drooling that he still has 4 seasons to rake before he's worthless and over the hill cause of age. How could any team justify paying Mr. K a ton of money?

Andrew Vaughn is Officially a Bust
I hate when teams do this. It can't help a prospect when he's stuck in the pasture of LF when he has no outfielder instincts at all. As much as rabid fans talk about not "rushing" a guy, a team has the audacity to bring a guy up and play him where he'll be scared and have embarrassing results.

4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
Even though I confessed the other day it doesn't hurt to lose any more since I'm so used to it, there's really no harm in rooting for wins. You don't even get the No. 1 pick assured when you have a team as bad as the Sox were last year. Especially early in the season when the Sox are not mathematically buried a win is rather nice, especially at home where the loyal fans paid good money.

Meidroth is tremendous no doubt, but it is nationally embarrassing that the Sox refuse to keep good things (phenoms like Crochet). Sad that a big city team operates like it is broke. Love me some Meidroth obviously. Would rather have Crochet though as he is truly special. Embarrassing loss today because of the near no-no.

4/12 game thread vs Boston 3:10 first pitch
I think it's pretty obvious the Sox have improved their defense from last year and have learned how to be mediocre to good in Rate Field. Our division sucks this year so it's kind of sad the Sox didn't try to make a few more acquisitions that could have gotten us to .500 and contention in our division. At any rate, this Sox team is proving managers do matter. This team is capable of contention in the Central once we bring up a few more guys as we did with Meidroth.

Obviously Meidroth should have started the season with the team. Maybe we wouldn't be 3-10. Good call, Sox.

4/11 game thread vs Boston 6:40 first pitch
Maybe the Sox will be a good home team this year and ultimately learn how to play on the road. This team seems better than last year's. Meidroth has a chance to be a hero with the fans after tonight. His AAA manager had all those great things to say about him in the video. He could be special.

Meidroth and Martin. The M and M boys of summer on the southside.

Is Meidroth somebody I should expect to excel? Is he somebody I should be rooting for?

4/11 game thread vs Boston 6:40 first pitch
Please, please please ... if you go to the game tonight tell us how many fans really are there and please tell us the percentage of fans are Red Sox fans. I'd say crowd of 19,000 and 12,000 are Bosox fans.

When will MLB Step In?
Bear with a frustrated greg ... thanks You know what's very odd about the Sox ineptitude? Can you think of another business in which the business had its worst year in history the previous calendar year and yet without any shame trots out a product significantly worse the following calendar year? Why the hell is this accepted as standard procedure in the sports world? Most people with healthy brains would realize getting the No. 10 draft pick means NOTHING if you have to put the worst product ever on the field to get it. Again, management, the on field leadership sees nothing odd about being this rotten with the payoff to come in 3-4 years. Most businesses realize if you are that bad for that long, you are out of business in 3-4 years. Very very sad sports teams can get away with this. You know, with a team this bad for this long an extended period, a GOOD business would seek out in its records its MOST LOYAL customers and shower them with free stuff (concessions, free tickets, free parking at the least) to reward them for supporting this unsupportable crud of a team.

Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Where's Tommy Pham when you need him? Who picked him up? Any way we could find Viciedo? Where is he? How bout Abreu? Where's he playing? It'd be interesting to at least employ Abreu. Hosmer still isn't 40. Sign him up. Also Moustakas isn't 40. Just put some name players out there to fail instead of our current stiffs. And Magrigal. Sign him too for minimum. ... Why is Robert doing so poorly. That's kind of embarrassing he's no good apparently.
