  1. If Soria signed 2 year deal, it's Soria. If Nate stays healthy it will probably be him tho.
  2. If you love Mize he could still be there at 4. Sounds like no prospects are considered golden in this draft.
  3. Read rabbit's story on the draft. It's weak and basically all the top players are interchangeable. We don't need pick 4.
  4. Excellent read. Thank you. As far as what I learned, there's not much consensus on what players to take. It's a weak draft. Ugh ... this is why greg doesn't give a flip about the draft. After reading this, I'd take a catcher.
  5. Cause I used to go to 30 games a year when I lived there. We had season tickets forever and my dad's business partner was one of the team's zillion of owners.
  6. Eloy? Kopech? I wouldn't count on them joining the team til the minor league seasons are over. Why bring them up if we have some historically bad record?
  7. I want titles, but I'm not a draft guy. I'm a trade guy, sure. I'm a FA signing guy. I'm for our instructors making something out of whomever we do draft, not have them be busts like all our busts of the past 15 drafts. I'm for having stars like Ventura, Frank, Dye, Thome, Buehrle, Sale lead the team to pennants. Just cause I devalue the draft doesn't mean I don't want titles.
  8. Because of his age, he's no longer a prime prospect is what I said in my post. Yes, Moose is a viable FA option this offseason. Why wouldn't he be?
  9. They'd never hire Oz anyway. His Miami controversial statements prevented anybody from hiring him ever again. He hasn't even gotten a job as a bench coach yet since Miami. Sox are his only hope of employment, maybe as a community ambassador or minor league instructor and that's a "maybe."
  10. The White Sox are big boys. They can take some whining from life long fans disgusted by this who will be embarrassed by the upcoming Cub massacres. If I were Cub hitters I'd bring the long ball attitude to this series (unless wind is blowing in). Uppercuts galore cause eventually you are going to run into a pitcher who will deliver meat to you and your lumber.
  11. Some of us don't write off entire seasons. It's early May for gawd sakes. Some of us consider the rest of the season a long long time to endure unprecedented White Sox lousiness. This team has the worst team in Sox history written all over it.
  12. Interesting post. I guess we are going to find out if attendance matters at all in the day and age of franchises being worth a billion dollars. Cause it's early May and this team won't sell any advanced tickets the rest of the season except the Cub games. I wish some enterprising Website reporter would count the fans actually in the stands at games. Go down to the field from the press box in the third inning and fricking count the fans. I mean what did a day game today draw? I didn't watch it but were there 2,000 in the house? Maybe attendance truly doesn't matter anymore. But this season, last season and now, next season, wow we are gonna be bad and unless you do the secondary market (which obviously anybody who wants to go to a game should do) there's no reason to pay real prices to watch this crap, especially with Moncada and Avi out.
  13. No, I want titles.
  14. I know you guys are frustrated with me. But you can't seem to accept my answer to this, which is for the front office to do a better job of assessing FA talent, signing FA talent that is not named LaRoche, also developing some of the first rounders we've had. You named a few of them: I actually was against adding Shark, Melky. I liked Thome, Robertson. But you guys can't accept that I blame individuals with offices on 35th and Shields for not being able to do what I want (win) the way I want (to win). I am of the contention that just because THEY couldn't do the job, it was NOT impossible to do the job. I don't appreciate this sudden desire to lose for gawd knows how many seasons.
  15. Finally I feel a surge of moderate support. Keep it coming, folks!
  16. 1.) They all are trying. 2.) Absolutely nobody, that's my point. The roster is full of bad baseball players who are only capable of 48-55 wins. 3.) My beef is more with the front office concocting a roster that can't win even if the players try their best. Maybe the NBA tanking is a bit worse, but I'm not convinced of that. I want our team fined and I'd shut up.
  17. Thanks for admitting it and backing me on this issue.
  18. I guarantee you there are a lot of beer-swilling lifelong die hard Sox fans on the South Side throwing cans of cheap beer against the wall suffering through this crap. Some of you can write off seasons in hopes of 'wait til next year.' Some can't. If you can pay for the trips to the psychiatrist, send me the checks. Message boards are forms of therapy for angry fans, believe it or not.
  19. Can't you get it through your mind that some fans are die-hard fans and have been all Sox all the time for a long time? We can't walk away or we would. It's ingrained. I bought mlb hoping to enjoy Moncada, etc. I didn't expect 48 to 52 victories for gawd sakes.
  20. I'm being serious. I'll drop the topic if somebody can explain to me how this isn't blatant obvious tanking, trying to lose when that's against the mantra of sports and competition? I think it's one of my best examples ever. I'll give it one final shot then stop on this topic: Please please answer: Our team opened the season with MiGo and Shields as 2-1 starters and Nate and Soria as 8th-9th guys. That's not trying to lose 110 games?? I told you KC fans wanted to personally escort Soria to KCI for a plane to Chicago. Nate is unproven and frankly not good. ... And don't say the plan is to totally revamp at the break. There are no obvious plans to bring up the rebuild guys this season. Last chance for somebody to respond with a real response as I'm done with the topic in 3, 2, 1 ....
  21. Sure. There's 162 games. No way the Sox are going to go 62-100. I'd bet you they lose at least 101. That's a lock for me.
  22. It's a chicken and egg argument. Some fans like to win games and can't just write off seasons. I don't think that makes them bad fans. Not everybody can 'embrace the suck.' It's very difficult to do IMO.
  23. I'm upset. I wish you'd respond to my point about going into a season with Shields and MiGo as 1-2 starters and Nate and Soria as 8th and 9th inning guys. I mean cmon. The Sixers weren't even this disingenuous. Right?? Pls. respond.
  24. He may be implying Jake was a bit sloppy in his rehab, maybe not wearing the brace/boot. Sox have to move on. Jake's gonna be 23 next April. He probably won't play his age 23 season. He'll need age 24 season in AA or AAA. He'll be a MLB rookie at 25 if all goes well and he stays in good shape thru all this, etc. Sign Moose and go from there.
  25. Good point fathom. You are on fire today with your posts. Only posts of yours I despise are the ones in which you are pining for the No. 1 pick. You are better than that. But, sir, your posts are otherwise 9s out of 10. Thank u.
