GT: White Sox (40-44) vs. Scrubs (46-39) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) Between Melky stealing and getting waved home when he was obviously going to be out, makes me wonder if they see rain coming in on the radar and are just trying to hurry things along. I just think it was the third base coach. Just made a horrible decision there. Error on the third base coach this time.

Hope Sale got a nice hand. Cub fans should politely applaud the effort. Hope Petricka has it today. No reason to blow a 5-1 lead this late.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:19 PM) Oh for a long ball right now. Come on Avi! You are right. We need some home runs once in a while. All of a sudden this franchise can't hit bombs.

How could any third base coach send Melky on that?? I mean how f***ing dumb do you have to be??? He was barely rounding third for gosh sakes when the outfielder got the ball!! Third base coaches really piss me off at their stupidity.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) Looking good for this so far. =) Good job, but why didn't you parlay it with Sox to win and the under?

Poor Saladino. One for seven is lousy lousy lousy. But he should have 3 hits.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:12 PM) You sound like someone who's never played second. I played third. I thought it was a baseball cliche that 2B was easy. You can always find a MLB second baseman.

I like Saladino's defense. Aggressive. If he can get a few hits here and there, it'll be time to DFA Gillaspie or trade him. No excuses. 5-1 lead after seven. Sale did a GREAT job. Now it's up to the bullpen. Mixture of Duke and Petricka on to Robertson?? Please, no Putnam to ruin the good vibes of this series!!!

QUOTE (JolietThunder @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) I would love to see Sox find new home for Alexi....Everytime he comes up to bat I change channel I can't stand his attitude. At least he bashed that 3-0 pitch for a nice single.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) Sox don't win some of those recent wins with Micah's bad defense at second base. Micah is going to have a lot of pressure on himself to improve his defense during his next call up. He's done as a major leaguer in Chicago if he butchers such an easy position. Fans will boo him out of town.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) Lester dropped a few f bombs there. He's probably mad at the unearned nature of the runs cause of Bryant.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) Was that Reinsdorf in the dugout?!?!? Awesome. Jerry must really want the win today to be in the dugout! Or he doesn't want to get rained upon.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Announcing what, major league baseball? Because I have announced sporting events multiple times. Hawk is the ultimate homer. I have no idea where you're getting any other idea. That's why he's talking about Buehrle. Because Buehrle was here for such a long time and is engrained in White Sox lore. Hawk is THE homer in sports. And you know how you fill broadcast time? Providing supplemental information about players in the game you're watching. Go back and watch the games where Swirsky was doing the play-by-play. I learned so much about players from each team and no one was compared to Mark Buehrle, Rod Carew, Catfish Hunter or Carl Yastrzemski That's cool you are an announcer. I don't mean to insult you by saying you are no Hawk Harrelson. Just cause he is the best IMO. Listen, you say Hawk is a homer. Please answer this for me. Has Hawk ever criticized the White Sox or their players? (Yes is the correct answer). Does he do that often? (yes is the answer). Do announcers of other teams dare criticize their own players?? Gosh no! Unless they are in the Hall of Fame like Scully and Matthews. Please be honest with me. --- Tyler baby gets into one! Tyler is NOT worthless, folks. He's average. Great rally off Lester!

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Wrigley is funny. A flyball gets a roar like it's onto Waveland. The fans have hawks depth perception. You got to admit, Hawk called that deep fly to center perfectly. He knew it wasn't a homer.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) Right. I love Buehrle. He's one of my favorite athletes of all time because he created a great career out very little natural talent for a pitcher. He worked hard at all facets of the game - pitching speed, defense, holding runners - to become a great pitcher. He plays for the Blue Jays now and we've got a better pitcher going for the White Sox today. I want to know about Chris Sale, not Mark Buehrle. If I wanted to hear about Mark Buehrle five times a game, I'd watch the Blue Jays. You are speaking like somebody who has announced games before. These guys need to kill time and have stuff to talk about. If all you do is praise Sale then you become one of the homer hacks who broadcast for all the other teams. Stoney was talking about Minnie beating Detroit last night; Hawk was talking about another game just now. Let's face it. We're spoiled with having great announcers on the south side. Listen to other teams except for Scully and they suck. Hawk knows announcing.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) Be a Blue Jays fan? Now you're getting anti-Greg. You can love the Sox and worship Buehrle. Hawk proves that in his commentary.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) Or have Hawk talk about players actually in this game. It's a long ballgame. All announcers give updates of other games, etc. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give Hawk a 9. I'd give the Royals announcers a 3 except for Denny Mathews a 7. Listen to other games and you'll love Hawkeroo. Also the Sox should be reminded of mistakes they've made once in a while. He does that. Royals announcers ONLY praise the Royals and mock the opponent. Status quo announcing today.

Sox bats have died since that first inning. I thought they'd be loose all day and knock him around.
