I am not faulting anyone...I think both sides knew what was going on and were OK with it. Who knows...they might have opened his arm up after the season regardless of that particular situation. I was just chiming into say I thought I recall discussion prior to the injury about the fact that they knew he was injured and it wasn't going to heal on its own so go ahead and pitch. I am getting older so I certainly could be misremembering...but that is how I recall it.

I always got the feeling that they knew it was coming...he knew it was coming...just pitch until it happens. So it seemed that all parties involved were aware of the situation and allowed it to happen as at some point it was inevitable?

Agree. No way is their plan to only offer this broadcast OTA or DirecTV. I assume they are negotiating with the streamers/cable companies and most likely in these situations the agreement never comes long before it is necessary.

I agree with your point...but that is also the easiest position to take publically. If this is ever going to happen...both sides are going to have to meet somewhere in the middle and have to give both sides some cover.

I gotta believe they will stream this with some services...right? I mean we are all Sox-centric here but no way the Bulls/Blackhawks are going to go for no streaming (I know the White Sox/Bulls are the same)...no reason the Bulls wouldn't attract eyeballs! How accessible are the OTA channels in Chicagoland? How far do those signals reach?

This thread has become my favorite thread on this site. The season historically sucks...not a lot of hope for the near future...something about the subject of a new park is fun to think about even if it may seem like a pipe-dream! I still miss Comiskey Park...that is that ballpark that visits me in my dreasm occasionally. I have had some great times at the "new" park for sure...but it isn't "romantic" to me. So...I hope we do get a new ballpark somehow...and maybe it is just time to move up the street "a bit". And if they do somehow end up in the "78"...in my view it just seems like it would be a grand slam!

I can't wait for Pedro to be relieved of his duties...BUT...that is a completely BS question to ask him! What information is a reporter trying to learn from that question? Its only intention was to embarrass him or to obtain an answer that people would use to mock Pedro.

Gave up Oneil Cruz at the deadline as well...so...they (like others) do make regrettable decisions...they just have the ability to cover those mistakes with lots of cash!

The problem is that the answer to that last point/question is that "we don't know"! And won't know unless it happens and we see it all play out. That is what makes all of this fun!

TLR acted like Leury's agent last summer...the praise given to Leury from TLR was over the top! I think TLR loves Leury...but TLR isn't the one who gave Leury a 3 year deal.

Larry Himes/Jeff Torborg era is among my favorite White Sox eras...just a fun time once Himes got it going in the right direction! Torborg was the perfect manager for that era! Wish both would have stuck around longer than they were allowed to!
