  1. Agree...my family saves more than $100 a month since we gave up traditional cable! And a big difference is that I can cancel and switch services in a minute if I dislike what I see or if I get a better deal from another service or if we just don't want to watch that much TV for a month or whatever. Money saved and flexibility to shop around. Huge difference.
  2. Good read on the challenges that YTTV-like and Hulu-like offerings will face in the future: https://www.wired.com/story/youtube-tv-nbc-universal-streaming-wars/?scrlybrkr=8b91a969
  3. At least the White Sox will stay on YTTV through the end of this season...so that is good! Hope they work things out longer term however! https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/youtube-tv-and-nbc-have-agreed-to-an-extension-channels-will-stay-on-youtube-tv-for-now/
  4. Guessing "no news" is bad news in this case!
  5. I have been very busy today...any updates on this situation yet?
  6. Minus the station that shows the White Sox! That is the only one I care about!
  7. Yeah...I think Google is making it seem like such a sweet deal for us if they drop NBC...which isn't the case for those who subscribe for the purpose of getting the sports regionals!
  8. Looks like I may be doing some free trials of Hulu Live and whatever else is out there! My kids will have to find other ways (YouTube) to re-watch our favorite memories of the White Sox this summer!
  9. I feel like that is their "general" NBC Sports channel though...not the regional one. I suppose at worst it would only cost me $10 to find out though...just sign up and cancel immediately and get a commercial-free month of reruns of "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation"!
  10. Frustrating! I would pay a bit more just for the regional sports channels...the rest of the NBC stuff I really don't care about! That seems about the way things work for me...
  11. Frustrating and terrible timing...I need my fix! I would buy Peacock Premium but I won't get regional sports channel coverage with that right??
  12. On MLB Network Pedro Martinez when thru the video of the hit-by-pitch and he said there is no doubt Jose was hit on purpose. Pointed out that the pitcher's eyes and head were directed right at Jose the entire delivery and follow-thru. Of course, because that network always plays both sides, Harold Reynolds was critical of Jose's slide because this is a "new era" and you just can't use those old techniques to make your point. I loved the slide! But Harold didn't...although he did say that when he was playing and a hitter got plunked...he expected to be taken out by the base runner on any ground ball that followed.
  13. I live in east-central Iowa...MLB blacks-out the White Sox/Cubs/Twins/Brewers/Royals/Cardinals in my market! I mean...it is ridiculous! I would love to get MLB.tv but they obviously don't want my money with those restrictions!
  14. Yeah...but the last time this occurred with YTTV and a regional sports network provider I lost access to the Twins/Brewers/Cardinals/Royals and all the other professional teams in those regions! I didn't like it but was OK with it...if I lose the White Sox...I am going to have to figure some things out!
  15. One thing I love about YTTV is the unlimited DVR so we have every game recorded! My kids love to back and watch the highlights...Goodwin's walkoff against Cleveland gets watched in my house weekly!
  16. Same...I influenced quite a few people to go with YouTube TV...and I might have to be one of the first of the group to bail out!
  17. https://9to5google.com/2021/09/26/youtube-tv-price-nbc/ This would be aggravating! Guess I would have to get another source of my White Sox if this happens! I love YouTube TV but since I subscribed more than 2 years ago they went from broadcasting 5 mlb team's regional channels to my location to 1 (thankfully it is the White Sox)! I used to get the Twins, Cards, Brewers, Royals and White Sox (Cubs too but they left for their own network obviously). Anyway...hope YTTV and NBC figures this out!
  18. I just wonder if it is an automatic that Tony throws CK into an 8th inning in the playoffs? If he does...I may have to leave the room because my stress levels will be out of this world! LOL! I mean...I haven't seen much from CK in a White Sox uniform that makes me feel good about seeing him in an important situation come October!
  19. Yeah...I guess I get that they can pay Ohtani and Trout at the same time...but what does that leave for the rest of the roster? 2 stars are great to have...but if it extends their losing season streak from 6 to 10 or more...is it worth it? Ohtani is a unique talent for sure...I would love to see the Angels trade him this winter just to see what they could get back? Or...sign him long-term because his contract will be unlike any before due to the pitching and hitting aspect to his play.
  20. Could he be available? Can the Angels pay both Trout and Ohtani? With 2 seasons left before free agency this would be the time to get a monster haul in return. And if that potential scenario played out well...the Angels could be good in 2 seasons and could sign Ohtani as a FA again. The White Sox don't have what it would take in terms of prospects...who out there does? If Ohtani plays with the Angels 2 more years without an extension...there are only 4 or 5 clubs that would be in the mix to be able to pay him right? Would the Angels have the courage to trade him this offseason? https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/32289566/shohei-ohtani-pitching-gem-another-losing-effort-future-los-angeles-angels-want-win
  21. Consistent...although consistently way too big!
  22. Is our pace of play slower than most teams? Almost 2:30 to play 7 innings in a 1-0 game at this point! I have nothing better to watch...but it just seems like White Sox games are so much slower than other games I watch? Maybe it is just that I am more invested in watching the White Sox?
  23. Yep...I would guess he would take that QO right now! I mean...of course he is dreaming of getting an offer that is $80 to $100 million...but an organization would have to be insane to offer him that! So I could see him accepting a 1 year $18 million QO! What is the time frame of QO to the date they have to accept/reject it? That could play into the White Sox thinking...
  24. Well...so much for that! UGH!
  25. Huge as long as he backs it up right now!
