  1. Schriff seems OK as long as he just lets the game come through him. I think he'd be great as a "vanilla" broadcaster, honestly. Just call what you see, maybe with some emotion to match the moment. Treat the color guy like an interviewee, but don't force it. As soon as he gets excited (or pretends to be excited), it just feels forced. I don't think it'll ever be as bad as the "we're not gonna take that" bit, but the excitement just doesn't feel natural from him.
  2. "Do your best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." It's part of the natural evolution of society and language.
  3. It's almost like having a great young core in 2020 be ready to take the next step, only to bring in an ancient dinosaur of a manager to lead the team and watch nearly all of the players regress and rot away. But nobody would be dumb enough to do both of those things.
  4. Yeah '93~'94 was genuinely the product on the field.
  5. Same here, and that basically any player would prefer to play for the Yankees over the Sox.
  6. It took exactly 3 posts in this thread.
  7. I'd love to see an Ozzie statute of him motioning for Jenks using the "big wide guy" gesture.
  8. ...or... Sign some superstar to a mega-deal with a ton of deferred money, with half the compensation being for the 2027 season that's going to get wiped out (or at least significantly abbreviated).
  9. The Tim Elko Experience is back on tour!
  10. Given the uphill battle we’re facing, this thread sounds more fun when reading the thread title to the tune of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”
  11. Ozzie’s teams just had a way of beating projections and Pythagorean projections during the late 2000’s, from what I remember.
  12. Don’t think there’s such a thing as the right thread here, to be fair.
  13. And it’s all anyone can talk about for the next 3 months.
  14. The Tim Elko Experience sounds like quite a tribute band.
  15. I actually laughed audibly at this, and I don’t really know why.
  16. I feel like the same exemption should be made for the Rockies and Sox.
  17. I'd be mad if I saw Colson instead of Capra if I were watching the dugout.
  18. The headline suggests he’s giving up switch hitting, in a Buster Bluth sort of way.
