Here’s an observation that I would need to back up with more long term data. The White Sox do a good job of finding players like Santos or Middleton for the bullpen but miss a lot of high priced arms. I’d have to think of other examples of guys who don’t make a ton and travel around a bit but perform well for the White Sox.

Jeff Loria goes after Mark Buehrle, Jeter, others

JR makes choices on pitchers’ contracts too. -
I want to know if the reason they won’t do this is contractual and can’t get enough players to attend. Or if there is an issue with the price of the event that JR doesn’t want to pay and he doesn’t take in enough money. Or there isn’t enough fan interest. It doesn’t seem like not wanting to face the music is the only or main reason for not commuting to or doing the event.

Is Boone’s ejection better than this?
-
Fun to watch a guy who has had a long career come back from the minors come up to the majors and have some success even after being sent down.
-
He may have had a point with earlier calls but that one was in the zone. As a former umpire I’m glad that Diaz gave Boone s%*# back. That’s how I handled it when it came to arguments, especially when there was personal attacks. To your point, you can’t argue balls and strikes.

Since you’re the expert, why not write to Boyer and guess Hahn’s and Grifol’s addresses and tell them what to do? I’m sure they’ll listen to you. -

Maybe they are coming in September… Okay. So write Hahn with your opinion and see what happens. Or maybe they’ll be September call ups. -

They are still in the top 5 for the draft pick and might only be in the top 3. 4th worst wouldn’t be an awful position for pick selection or pick selection odds. Who would you rather see play than Grandal or Andrus? -

Suck a bag of dicks Clase! Go White Sox! -
TA has had a lousy year, but I can think of others who haven’t lived up to expectations either - Moncada and Grandal to name a few. I think Anderson could rebound next year and I wonder if people will change their tune then.

Many many moons ago, there used to be a thread called Mother Fucking b**** Ass Passionless White Sox. Maybe we need to create a new one and bump it.

Nice to have a pass rusher on a one year deal. -
Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance

They will have to do something this offseason with that cash. They won’t do nothing. -
Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance

C. They dealt most of the contracts that were up except for the ones who probably weren’t needed (Grandal and Andrus). They got prospects in areas of need with pitching. They got out of Lynn’s, Graveman’s and Kelly’s deals. They traded Burger, which sucks, but they got a decent sounding prospect for him. Not bad for a guy who didn’t start the year with the team. They didn’t deal Cease, but it isn’t clear what the offers were and it still is possible he could be dealt this offseason. I am interested in seeing how Hahn or whoever the GM is improves this team in the offseason through trades and whatever free agents they could bring in. -
Fegan on Score @1225 pm to discuss Sox remaining moves
The Beast replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I listened to Fegan’s interview to the extent that I could at work and got the following from it: - Sox aren’t done, they could still deal Middleton since he’s on an expiring deal. - He would be surprised if the core (Jimenez, Anderson and Cease) were traded. The Sox are in the unique spot where there aren’t many sellers who get value for expected performance from players. You could get as much for Cease now if he was performing at Cy Young levels next year. He doesn’t think they will deal him given their rotation next year. - Other teams see Kopech like a reliever, but the Sox need him as a starter. - Contending in 2024 is not realistic with where they are at with AA players, lack of talent at AAA, not doling out large contracts to free agents. - After the deadline there needs to be a clear message sent on the direction of the team. - He has not heard anything that there will be accountability for the direction of the team within the front office and does not get the sense that anyone else outside of the leadership structure in place that is pulling the strings. -

He probably can’t get much of a return anyway. So did Kelly. -

Lynn could have and probably should have been pulled earlier. -

I just don’t agree. Sure JR will hinder this team from needing the owner and changes it needs, but I think there’s some talent here that they can build on. Changes are still needed. -

Pathetic. But I expect that from this team. Focus on next year, this year is shot. -

Weak RISP numbers + lack of HRs + home runs given up by a starting pitcher and the relief crumbling is not a recipe for success and won’t lead to wins. It is the story of the season.
