  1. I also don’t think receivers running 10-20 yards down the field always makes sense when he’s running for his life a lot of the time too. I can see some times where he’s holding the ball too long, but I don’t think that’s the main issue.
  2. Does Williams deserve more blame for holding onto the ball too long, or is he out of sync, playing behind a pathetic line and playing in a crap offense that reminds me of Nagy’s?
  3. To your point, they should interview a bunch of candidates to learn from them and cast a wide net in their search. I paused when I thought of Carroll. His age is something I considered, but isn’t a dealbreaker. I want a coach with actual head coaching experience if possible. If that person does not have experience, then I would need to see someone be a standout coordinator like Ben Johnson. If they went the Lovie Smith esque route they better have a plan for Caleb Williams instead of a variety of different offensive coordinators. This was something they dealt with during the Cutler years.
  4. I wonder if Cunningham would stay if the Bears fired Poles and elevated Cunningham. Or if that would even happen. I just don’t see them firing the GM that drafted Williams unless they keep some continuity with Cunningham.
  5. RIP Bill Melton. He was great on TV and seemed like a wonderful man.
  6. How is that working for you and where are you located? I’m in Woodridge and am considering an antenna by my TV, but could be persuaded to use something in my attic if it gives better results. I mostly don’t want to buy an antenna if it doesn’t work.
  7. Is this what you have? I have a Samsung smart TV so I wondered how well it would work with the TV. I’d rather buy something that works rather than be left with something that doesn’t, but it sounds like this has worked for you rather well. What do you do for internet if you don’t have Xfinity cable and what does internet cost you now? Also, does anyone know what Comcast will take away if I ask for Marquee to be removed?
  8. Some reading material on the 2025 NFL Head Coaching candidates. I’ll be interested to see how Thomas Brown finishes out the year and if they’ll also interview coaches like Ben Johnson, Joe Brady and Kliff Kingsbury. My favorite is Johnson, but I don’t know if he’d consider coming here with what he’s got going for him in Detroit.
  9. This is probably right, but does Poles getting another coach like Mike Vrabel, Kliff Kingsbury or Ben Johnson actually do anything? Or is it truly the ownership change that is needed since they Bears everything up?
  10. I’m trying to understand several things: - How does JR make money off CHSN if games are over the antenna? Is it low overhead and no cable agreement? - Why didn’t they do something like Marquee? - What percentage of fans will buy the antenna to watch the games? Or will an agreement be reached with cable providers before the season? - What is the audio and visual quality of the channel? And several more…it just doesn’t make sense to me why there is no channel on cable and no app to stream/pay for. It makes me think some agreement should be reached. Maybe Laurence Holmes is right, the new channel will flash something on the broadcasts to have people call Comcast and complain to try and put pressure on the company (which I understand doesn’t have much to gain).
  11. I actually enjoyed Bernstein and Holmes and kept them on during the workday and found Parkins and Spiegel to be hit or miss. I wasn’t a huge fan of Parkins and didn’t see the draw, but I think it depends on the kind of show people want to listen to. I’m more analytical and care less about gambling. Although “Can’t Do It” was fun when that was going on.
  12. Awful line, nonexistent run game, no offensive rhythm. Williams hasn’t looked great. Fields is 2-0 for the Steelers.
  13. Danny Parkins is leaving the Score on Friday. It makes me wonder what they will do to replace him. Maybe they will move Bernstein and Holmes to afternoons and bring Spiegel back to mornings with another partner.
  14. Will they break the streak tonight?
  15. D. The Fedde return was light. Kopech and Pham probably didn’t have much value. They needed something out of the Cardinals in that deal. I don’t really understand what the direction is in the offseason or years to come. I don’t know if I believe what fathom has said about their financial issues. These trades brought some prospects back but it isn’t clear where this franchise is headed, especially if they have budgets cut further year over year. They need to become the Rays in order to be competitive.
  16. Please get your rest and I hope you have a restful and speedy recovery.
  17. Prove it?
  18. Then the Sox need to morph to become the Rays or end up like the Pirates.
  19. That all makes sense. I both can and can’t see them just filling the roster with cheap veteran players to field a team next year. I guess it depends on if the theory JR is just getting ready to sell holds true. I’m hoping there will be more flip able and Fedde types signing but I’m not holding my breath. They probably need a reset with Crochet and Robert moves since they aren’t offering extensions to either of them and then we can evaluate where there needs are from the minors, something that isn’t quite clear with the trade “returns” we had today and tomorrow. Not just every need (like a competent GM which is wishful thinking or a new manager, an obvious and realistic need) but where our greatest player needs are all things considered.
  20. It couldn’t be much worse than the endless Machado and Wheeler threads.
  21. So are you saying that their payroll is open next year and they should be able to afford to sign players or are you more in line with fathom’s line of thinking that they are broke and won’t pay anyone worth anything?
  22. Co-signed. I see him and Robert being moved in the offseason, if at all.
  23. Not sure who they’ll trade by the deadline tomorrow but I doubt it will be Crochet (maybe in the offseason). Maybe Flexen, Brebbia, Wilson, or DeJong.
