  1. Opposing pitcher is a big (pun intended, he's 6'7") groundball guy, so we'll find out how much the conditions help or hurt. Would definitely like to steal this one with Soriano going tomorrow.
  2. He played 1 game at DH and 5 innings of LF in Charlotte. Would probably have been down there a bit longer if not for the Murray injury, so I'd expect his first few days here to still look a bit "rehab-y" (early subs on D, maybe DHing vs. Kikuchi)
  3. Mets have now had Tauchman (injured), Pham (just DFA'd), and Slater in their OF mix this year in addition to Luis.
  4. ...for now, UCLA 😉 #16 for Roch
  5. Gotta imagine no one is more annoyed with the loss than Murray, who had a potential game winner robbed and then was hurt diving for that out in the 10th.
  6. It was his 3rd outing in 4 days, and the other two were back to back saves with travel in between. Ideally they would have scored at any point in the first 9 innings so that he doesn't need to come in this one at all.
  7. I think there are a couple of guys who really want the big "moment" for the home crowd and it takes them away from their approach. Colson for example. He often looks like he's trying to hit the big homer that gets the huge home crowd pop...but he's more likely to get the job done when he's not pressing so hard for it. On the road, he's 6-19 (3 XBH) with RISP. Nearly 1.000 OPS and 10 RBI....But at home he's 1-12 with 1 RBI and 6K. I think he'll sort it out though, and I care far more about that than what the various filler bats do.
  8. They aren't terrible losses in the grand scheme of things, but especially coming off of a pretty impressive road trip, you'd like to see them start winning more of these coin flips. 3 runs in regulation wins yesterday, and 1 in regulation wins today. Just 1 hit with RISP could have flipped either game. So many complaints about the pitching, but they handed the offense a sweepable series. Lack of execution at the plate and it's two losses in extras instead.
  9. Underperformance with runners on .536 team OPS with RISP at home, .771 on the road
  10. Doesn't really matter what the pen does when you score 0
  11. He's only played 5 innings in the field, I'd guess he's still at least a few games out.
  12. Zavala is 21 with <80 ABs in AA, no reason at all to rush him.
  13. 0 to tie, 1 to win
  14. 2.1 IP 0 ER for Sandlin. He was a bit wild (4 BB and 3 WPs) but also topping out at 100+
  15. Murray and Acuna have 2 of the 3 highest EVs in this game so far, and two of only 5 BIP in this game with an xBA over .500. Both were outs.

  17. David Sandlin with another rehab start in WS
