David Keller was on Foul Territory a couple days ago and again objected to how the Mune signing gets characterized as something they just got lucky and stumbled into. He said they were intentional with wanting to establish a presence in Asia and Mune was on their radar for a while even though they didn't know where the market would fall. Seemed to want to emphasize that it was a good process and not just a good result, similar to the Roch draft room discussions where you had various departments weighing in on pros/cons/projections/development plans. He mentioned that he was also scouting players from a future NBP class on his 2 week Japan trip, but didn't want to "tip their hand" on those targets.

Almost certainly nothing, but man can you imagine if that caused an injury?

Your first place Chicago White Sox win back to back road series! Once again, they never stay down for long. 7-2 since Mune returned without him really getting going yet. 3 wins and 1 split in their last 4 road series. Aside from yesterday, the pitching has been fantastic lately. 3 or fewer runs allowed in 8 of their last 10 games. If they want to keep up this pattern of win by a lot struggle to score win by a little for the rest of the season, I think we'll be happy with the end result. Cleveland loss went final earlier, so back to a game up. Add at least two more days to the count:

They likely don't feel the need to "save" guys with an off day tomorrow and all of the leverage guys getting to the point where they need work anyway

Lots of teams need RH pop, not a ton of great options...I think someone takes a chance on a guy who can play CF and maybe stay hot/healthy for long enough to make an impact at the plate. Could see Philly calling if he wasn't a Met. Heck, one of the other ALC teams could take a swing.

This seems like an overreaction to a potential second loss in their last 8 games? Nothing about this team suggests that they are one loss or one injury away from losing their vibes.

Schultz had a 2.35 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in Charlotte with 34K in 23 innings I'm not sure what benchmarks you would use for him improving down there

Pereira done after 6 innings in CF. Went 1-2 with an RBI double and BB. Hays done after 7 innings in LF. He went 2-4 with a HR and 2K.

Well at least the Cubs are good for something, chased Valdez in the first.

I feel like once he gets HR #21 he'll reel off a stretch of 7 in 10 games or something
