  1. He didn’t help things. Did he stop once to chill out Schultz? He also didn’t challenge an obvious strike and instead challenged an obvious ball.
  2. Hitters are just much smarter at this level than AAA. AAA guys would swing at that stuff. These major league hitters realized he was wild and simply took. Can only go up from here.
  3. Yep, and major league hitters are smart as f***. Schultz just got stressed and choked. He should have just taken the out at first.
  4. Quero didn’t challenge an earlier obvious strike and then he challenges that one.
  5. Yikes. Back-to-back walks.
  6. Where did that miss? Challenge that s%*#.
  7. LOL. “I took a stroll around the park and was high-fiving fans and wishing them a Happy Schultz Day!”
  8. The same organization is starting a catcher in RF but there’s no way an infielder could ever be tried in LF.
  9. Fake news. The first guy to reply to this nonsense nailed it.
  10. True. Getz built the lineup. Three offseasons and here is where the Sox offense is at currently… Last in entire MLB in AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, Hits, Runs, and RBIs.
  11. Hit his MLB-leading 8th homer tonight. Cardinals were wise to stick with him. Remember the Fedde / Walker rumors? Cardinals wouldn’t part with him.
  12. It’s not. It’s more deflection from the diehard Getz defenders. It has happened in the past and it still happens today. Sosa is obviously not a great infield defender but comparing him to Andrew Vaughn is insincere. Last time I checked, Vaughn can’t realistically play 2B and 3B even if the Sox put him at those positions a handful of times in his Sox career. It’s not like the return for Sosa is anything worthwhile. It would have been a better move for the team to have Sosa learning LF over winter ball and in ST and discuss DFA’ing Benintendi who adds nothing to the team. Getz knew Sosa was one of their leading power hitters last season, was only 25/26 years old, and wouldn’t be a free agent until 2030. Why would you not come up with a offseason plan with the roster to get him at bats to see if he could continue to improve? The Sox have holes at both LF and DH (especially against lefties). And I get it, Jerry probably doesn’t want to admit failure on the Benintendi signing with two years left but we all already know that’s precisely what it is.
  13. You likely answered your own question.
  14. The ol’ “at least we got a top 100 prospect for him!” 🤣
  15. Three 5’10” or under slappy outfielders.
  16. Mets called up Tommy Pham. They have two-thirds of our old outfield starting tonight, along with Semen at 2B. I heard Schriffen tried to go into the locker room and wish them luck but Pham told him to get the f*** out.
  17. Do you have one of those split jerseys?
  18. Good luck with Getz ever convincing Jerry to spend money again if Murakami truly is a bust. Hopefully, it’s just a cold streak and this is not the case. Remember, Getz had to tag team Jerry with Brooks Boyer to convince him that the return on marketing along with the player himself would be worth $34 million plus a $6.575 million posting fee for two seasons.
  19. Yep. Unless there are provisions in the contract that state otherwise, Benintendi’s contract would be paid out on the same timeline throughout the end of next season if he was DFA’ed. It’s not like the entirety of the remaining money on his deal would have to be paid to him immediately once he made it through waivers and was released. Jerry just doesn’t want to admit the mistake that he let Hahn/Kenny make, and that he signed off on.
  20. I wasn’t arguing for Sosa to start over Meidroth at 2B. My post was about Antonacci. I think the Sox should have tried converting Sosa to LF and sent Benintendi to the glue factory.
  21. Meidroth hasn’t done much in almost 600 plate appearances to prove he should be a starting major league 2B. Perhaps the move should be for Antonacci to start at 2B and Meidroth move to backup infielder?
  22. That’s an offensive explosion for a Sox hitter. 🤣
  23. Seems like Getz dumped him mostly for the roster spot for Antonacci.
  24. Yep, just like with Acuna…
  25. I updated my previous post. He’s still small though.
