  1. As much as I’d love to see him pitch, you are right and a bad team like this should not be jumping the gun on service time until more guys are ready.
  2. Probably for the best. He can now use his one attribute. Velocity. Rather than throwing low to mid 90’s as a starter.
  3. A female Ron on top of Thorpe. That’s probably illegal in most areas.
  4. Gotta love J.B. If anyone knows how to cut costs, it’s him! https://www.npr.org/2018/10/03/654201077/illinois-gov-candidate-removed-mansions-toilets-to-dodge-taxes-report-finds A true man of the people. ? He truly knows the struggles of the average Illinois taxpayer.
  5. Read my post again please. Do you have a problem with reading comprehension? I said IF he can build from 92 to 94. And you’re a teacher? I hope you don’t teach English.
  6. @TaylorStSox is right. Watch some videos of this dude pitch. If he is at 91-92, he will be fine. If he gets to 92-94 he will dominate like Mark Prior in 2003. Prior usually threw around 94 with his fastball and he also had amazing control where he could spot it where he wanted to. Watch Thorpe in some YouTube videos absolutely command the zone. He throws all of his pitches where he wants to and his change is ridiculous. He will be the anti-Kopech.
  7. I still have high hopes that he is Eaton v2.0 but the trade is not looking so hot right now if Mena found his 95 MPH velocity and Fletcher is like his older brother or Benintendi.
  8. It’s amazing. A somewhat knowledgeable Sox fan with or without a college degree could probably drop better and more intellectual quotes to the media than this absolute moron. Grifail is such a clown.
  9. Sorry, I didn’t see this thread. I should have posted this here. The Pirates signed CF Michael A. Taylor at a steal of a price — 1-year and $4 million.
  10. They’ll finish in 4th or 5th place.
  11. CF Michael A. Taylor signed with the Pirates for only $1 million more than Pillar. Yikes. This time, no one can say he wouldn’t have signed with the White Sox because he only wanted to play for a contender. Only a difference of 2 WAR between the two righty outfielders last season! New GM just as bad as the old GM at free agency.
  12. Take him or Odunze, whichever is available. Otherwise, trade down.
  13. Mully and Haugh talking about the #9 pick this morning on The Score. They agreed that you have to take Odunze if he’s still there but he probably won’t be. I see the Cardinals, Giants, and Chargers taking all three big WRs before #9. They then said, if one of the OTs is there, you can jump on him. Otherwise, they thought trading down would make sense. I tend to agree. I still jump all over Odunze if he’s there.
  14. I assume a scout would have their own separate speed gun, rather than relying on the stadium gun.
  15. The Bauer story is a weird one. If you read all the texts between the two, she was apparently into BDSM, as was Bauer. He was stupid to ever go through with it, but it seemed to be mutual from the texts, but he may have gone overboard. Later, she argued that it wasn’t mutual at all, even though the texts show otherwise. There seemed to be some other motive for her to go after him in my opinion, but she dropped the lawsuit after a picture was provided showing her with no bruises on her face and laying in bed with Bauer smiling a day after the incident allegedly took place. She didn’t receive any money from Bauer due to dropping her lawsuit against him; however, she still received $300K from her insurance company. Also, if you research the legality of BDSM encounters, it is apparently one massive legal grey area.
  16. Also, if Kopech had anywhere close to Thorpe’s command, he would be our best pitcher instead of headed to the bullpen.
  17. I’ll be more interested when the retreads get replaced by the true talent. Also, I prefer Ivanka.
  18. The perfect video to play before every 2024 Sox home game:
  19. Hah, other people were thinking the same way as you, which he addressed years ago.
  20. Has this ever been proven statistically? I have heard this same argument on why you don’t want to stack a bunch of lefty starters in a row, etc. but is it backed by data? Some people disagree and say that each new ball game is a completely clean slate.
  21. I am on board with this and hopefully this is what Poles is thinking.
