  1. And Amed Rosario has played 2B, SS, and RF for the Rays, currently sports an .843 OPS, and signed for $1.5 million. I also wanted him THIS OFFSEASON, not in April after a historically bad start. You will argue he would have never signed here, which is fine. But I still don’t think you even understood my post. I wouldn’t have even bothered to sign Pham when Getz did. The season is already lost so do you really think it matters either way? Are you truly excited for Pham to join this 3-20 team, soon to be 3-21 team, and save them? Clevinger too? It just further proves what an awful job Getz did this offseason. The guy had to sign additional reinforcements well into the start of the season because his roster was so awful.
  2. I wouldn’t mind if we got our own SoFi Stadium but we aren’t getting a $6 billion dollar stadium.
  3. Stone’s tweet was pretty embarrassing but he knows who signs his paychecks. Sox fans are shredding him in their replies. It’s quite amusing.
  4. Where’s @Dick Allen? He’ll love this quote. Meanwhile, these were Grifol’s comments from yesterday… “Pedro Grifol talks accountability, but White Sox' offense has nothing to say” ACCOUNTABILITY!!!
  5. Agreed, I just don’t think teams will view him as a guy like Lynn or Giolito with a history of past success so they won’t give up a big return for him, although the second cheap year of control will likely boost his value a bit like you said. But this is assuming he keeps this up until the trade deadline…
  6. I watched up to the 8th inning after Kopech had shat himself. I knew what was coming so I switched over to Shogun as well. Great move by us.
  7. Exactly. People must forget how Hawk would go silent for innings at a time whenever the Sox were losing. With this team and it’s losing ways, he’s be fuming and Stone would have to carry each broadcast.
  8. Yeah, cuz our lineups could never hit lefties/junkballers. He was mediocre to bad against most other teams.
  9. “I can’t wait either.”
  10. You gotta admit, his hyping of Bruce “Cy” Chen whenever he faced the Sox was other worldly levels of embarrassment.
  11. No one shits himself in bigger situations than Kopech. It will be nice to finally be rid of this bust at the deadline.
  12. $75 million dollar man comes through!
  13. So is any team out there interested in giving up anything for a 1B/DH on a hot streak playing out of position in RF? If so, Getz needs to move him as fast as he can.
  14. Easy answer there. Great show.
  15. Fedde, throw a shutout. No pressure.
  16. Would you trust one from Jerry?
  17. I assume there is already some sort of handshake deal with the mayor for them to make this most recent announcement a day before they draft Caleb..
  18. You mean any “qualified” candidate. Chris Getz was just a guy taking a big promotion he wasn’t worth of. It probably didn’t matter to him if he was going to have a $50 million dollar payroll restriction. Like you said, he kissed the ring and got promoted to a position that no other team would have given him.
  19. The problem with Getz’s offseason was that he already had a questionable lineup of injury-prone (Eloy, Moncada, Robert) and/or unproductive/disappointing players (Vaughn, Benintendi) and he chose to add four starters or platoon starters that are mostly terrible. Getz left zero room for error in the form of a player or two having a down year or getting injured.
  20. You would need to be comforted too if your family member was cannibalized in Papua New Guinea.
  21. If you consider a “star” player one that can OPS .750, we will never agree on anything, nor will anyone else on this message board. An MLB “star” player = .750 OPS? Seriously? It’s not 1975.
  22. These stats are amazing. Some of these things haven’t ever happened before in MLB history. I realize JR had Getz cut a ton of salary but the Sox still don’t have one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. The average GM couldn’t make his team this bad in one offseason if he was actually TRYING to. Astonishing.
  23. Not a personal shot. I believe you stated in another thread that you are 61 or so.
