Wouldn't it make more sense to DFA Rojas on around September 1st when rosters expand?
-
Dude, I already had him on Ignore and you just made me read his long whiny ass post because you quoted him. Thanks… 🤣 Nothing more hilarious than someone who complains about a message board that they don’t run or pay for, suggests that it should shut down, yet continues to post on it. I can think of a much easier solution to his problem with the board, but it looks like you beat me to it…
-
It all depends on Caitlin Clark’s injury status.
-
Yeah, go back and read my post again. I questioned Rojas’ trade value. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the post so I’m not sure what you think was hijacked. That was the discussion, no? If I had said Rojas was worth a top 100 prospect, I guess that would have been okay?
-
I can’t imagine Lee being worth more in trading away rather than retaining him as a backup catcher if the Sox decide to move either Quero or Teel from catcher to 1B. He’s 26. Keep him as a backup catcher. I even like the idea of all three guys on the roster.
-
Meanwhile, Frazier is at least at 0.4 bWAR and the team that he played for last season and that has some familiarity with him decided to reacquire him. Seems like different circumstances to me.
-
Thanks, and honestly I just re-read my third post of this thread again and don’t think I was even being snarky or trolling. Rojas is simply a bad player and I would be a bit surprised if he was actually traded. And I would be even more shocked if Rojas actually returns anything of value at all.
-
I think it’s just poor timing unfortunately. If Houser was with the Sox to start the season and did this from the beginning, perhaps that would’ve been enough starts to convince teams that this is the guy he truly is, at least for this season. Who knows though, maybe there will be some competing offers for the cheap guy who isn’t earning jack this year.
-
They definitely need a starter and a 3B. It will be interesting to see how balls out they go on their needs or if they just grab a cheaper guy like Houser. I think they try to aim higher first, but he’s a fallback option.
-
For Sheets! We still need a 1B.
-
Exactly. I didn’t choose to give Vaughn $6 million bucks and non-tender Sheets. WestEddy’s favorite GM did, so why isn’t he ripping Getz instead of me?
-
And what did Sheets ever do with the Sox? He’s having a magical season with the Padres that I doubt he is able to repeat. Also, the Padres signed Sheets to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training, so quite honestly he did barely have any perceived value at the time. No more than a Brandon Drury. You’re the guy who prematurely proclaimed that Vargas was a 3 WAR player and Getz won the Fedde trade as a result, so I hope you understand me taking your opinion of any player with the appropriate grain of salt.
-
Mully and Haugh joked on The Score this morning that the Sox were trying to sabotage the Cubs’ 3B trade target.
-
Sure, maybe the type of “bad”. Frazier is a step above guys like Rojas and especially Lopez. And only our wizard GM who likes terrible slappy infielders like himself as a player traded anything of value for Little Nicky. Getz was trying to appease his boss who announced to Sox fans that he lusted for a lineup of nine David Ecksteins.
-
Perhaps a return like the Eloy to Orioles trade last year — someone like Trey McGough, a dude that retires from baseball the following year. 💩
-
I don’t see the comparison or similar expectations being appropriate. While the money isn’t a huge deal, Rojas is still earning $3.5 million — $2 million more than Frazier at $1.525 million. Also, while Frazier isn’t having a great season he is hitting light years better than awful Rojas this year. I would be surprised if any team out there even wants Rojas unless they are desperate for a backup infielder. I doubt we even get someone as completely mediocre as 28-year old Devanney for Rojas.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
WhiteSox2023 replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That wasn’t my point at all and I already responded to @PaleAleSox who had the same comment prior to yours. @Bob Sacamano gets it… -
PCA is at 5.2 bWAR. Kyle Tucker is at 4.0 bWAR. Pretty crazy that Tucker was their big acquisition in the offseason and PCA is their true MVP. Meanwhile, we get to be excited about Getz winning the Fedde trade because Vargas has a 0.9 bWAR. Putrid. 🤮

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

No, not at all. I am talking about when Vaughn was with the Sox, just like the other three guys. -
Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

So does anyone know why Ryan Fuller couldn’t fix Vaughn, Robert, Benintendi, Vargas, et al.? Asking for a friend. -
The HR Derby has a blatant bias against old and dumb people.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

https://nypost.com/2025/07/13/sports/white-sox-receiving-heavy-interest-in-luis-robert-jr-ahead-of-trade-deadline/ “According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, at least eight teams have reached out to the White Sox to express interest in acquiring Luis Robert Jr. The dynamic 27-year-old outfielder is having a brutal season offensively, slashing .189/.275/.322 with nine homers, 34 RBI and 22 stolen bases. The common assumption though is that he just needs a change of scenery. Heyman didn’t note any of the teams that have checked in, but expect it to be a who’s who of contenders in both leagues.” -
Booser returned from 15-day IL, optioned to AAA
WhiteSox2023 replied to WestEddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’m pretty sure that flipping Booser was the entire point of acquiring him, but he performed poorly this far. He walks too many batters. And team control and low mileage on his arm would be great for him being a long-term piece but unfortunately he’s 33, not 27 or so. -
Prepare for some reruns…
