  1. It’s too bad Vaughn couldn’t be having a halfway decent season as that trade may have made sense, but I guess the Cubs still have Matt Shaw regardless.
  2. Nothing you said was really annoying, negative, or untrue. The dude can hit all the dingers he wants but he will be a bust if he can’t reduce his strikeout rate. It’s just so high that it would be unsustainable in the majors.
  3. Looks that way… White Sox signed RHP Adrian Houser to a one-year, $1.35 million contract. White Sox designated RHP Yoendrys Gómez for assignment.
  4. I’m not second guessing the Hagen Smith pick yet but seeing what Caglianone is doing kind of sucks, haha. Montgomery and Caglianone would have been a nice dynamic duo of hitting prospects to have right now.
  5. Someone said back in ST that historically Wilson has only been good as a reliever and horrific as a starter. I assume with this move, Wilson will move back to the bullpen.
  6. I just posted this in the Celebrity Death thread. Normie… 😢
  7. RIP, Norm (George Wendt)
  8. Sorry, but not everyone chooses to defend every bad GM after bad GM that the worst owner in baseball chooses to employ. Hahn failed miserably and Getz is doing the same. The Sox are currently on pace for the same garbage record as last season after 48 games. But I’ll wait for the typical and lame response — “But it’s a rebuild!” The fact that there would even be divergent views on these bum GMs that Jerry keeps employing is hilarious.
  9. The point is that they were supposed to. Getz’s starting pitching depth that didn’t unfortunately suffer injuries also failed performance-wise. See guys like Iriarte, Clevinger, and Owen White. Nastrini too, but he was technically acquired when Hahn was the GM.
  10. Lip immediately knew what I was saying and agreed with me. You? Not so much. I wasn’t being cryptic so I’m not sure what to tell you…
  11. Amazing that you were so easily able to comprehend my previous post!
  12. Yes, that too. The offseason pitching depth has been depleted by both injuries and poor performance.
  13. He’s old and bad. Didn’t think I would have to spell it out, but I guess I did.
  14. So our pitching depth is so deep that we have to sign a 32-year old journeyman to start a game tonight? Oops…
  15. I think so, which is why he would be light in a one for one deal.
  16. My proposal is expecting way too much but I think Alcantara alone might be a little light.
  17. I actually always confused Bruce Levine with George Ofman. Both Cubs fan reporters with the worst takes ever. Brothers from another mother…
  18. “Patriots turned down offers from Bears and another team for pick they used on TreVeyon Henderson”
  19. Agreed. I wouldn’t say no to Matt Shaw and Kevin Alcántara for Martin, but I’m sure the Cubs would.
  20. Bruce LeVineLine on WSCR 670 “The Snore” just threw out a potential Sox/Cubs trade. Davis Martin for Kevin Alcántara (Cubs #5 prospect; MLB #74 prospect), plus additional considerations Obviously it won’t happen because Bruce is always wrong but I thought it was interesting.
  21. After 48 games, this team has the exact same record (14-34) as last year’s record setting team. They ARE that bad.
  22. Perhaps, but we definitely already know Slater has no future at all with the Sox.
