  1. The Sox trade William Bergolia and a player to be named later to Atlanta for Reynaldo Lopez. Lopez goes to the pen, and Grant Taylor can be used more for closing.
  2. 1972 was a strike shorten year. Dick Allen hit 37 of the teams 108 total homers, 34%. Only two other players were in double figures at 10 & 12 home runs. Bill Melton only played 57 games because of a back injury and hit 7 homers. Dick Allen was a one man gang , league MVP, it was the greatest single season I have ever seen from a Sox player. He was the Michael Jordan of baseball in 1972.
  3. This might open the door for Vargas to the All Star team.
  4. As a totally biased Sox fan I could never cheer for the Sox to get no hit or a perfect game thrown at them. That doesn't make me right and someone cheering for the perfect game wrong.
  5. Tristan Peters I would like to thank you very much. John Cleese says thank you very much
  6. What is Winkelman Gonzalez's status? Is he done for the season with his lat injury?
  7. I am thinking 1990, good young position players, good bullpen, not enough starting pitching, 2nd year manager.
  8. Is there going to be a Roch Cholowsky bobble head day on 7/11?
  9. What do the Sox do with this guy? Why waste a roster spot on him when he is done rehabbing.
  10. But I am still praying for more pitching
  11. I am a true believer. In the words of Al Green, "take me to the river". Al Green-Take Me To The River.
  12. I am reaching here but with Colson taking a few days off Acuna jr is getting playing time. In the last 7 games Acuna jr is batting .500/.538/.583 and 4 stolen bases. It's a very small sample but if Acuna jr could keep it going he will only help the team as the team's utility infielder, fingers crossed.
  13. I can remember Baltimore a few years back and they were stacked with prospects, but they held instead of trading. With the first pick in the draft the Sox could be more willing to trade some youngsters.
  14. Detmers name has come up in someone that the Sox might be interested in. I caught a little bit of Angels game on MLB last night after the Sox game. Detmers looked dominant against the Astros, large and in charge, power lefty, 26 years old.
  15. Joe Rock sounds like a made-up Hollywood name, just like Grant Taylor.
  16. Looking at the run differential for the season currently at 316-307. The first 2 series were a disaster, besides going 1-5 the Sox were outscored 52-21. Since April 3rd the Sox are 34-26 with a much more respectable run differential of 295-255.
  17. Excellent, the more pitching help the better.
  18. Just thinking what is possible without any trades and just call ups and successful rehabbing: Noah Schultz, Shane Smith, Hagen Smith, Mune, Kyle Teel, Braden Montgomery, Everson Pereria.
  19. Yoán Moncada To Undergo Knee Surgery - MLB Trade Rumors
  20. This morning is getting better and better. I woke up to a Sox walk off win and now Shane is getting his grove back. Smith & Smith,
  21. I fell asleep in the 7th inning, what did I miss?
  22. I wonder if Montgomery will platoon and face mostly RHP and Grichuk against LHP. That would be a pretty lethal combination assuming Montgomery takes to the big leagues.
