  1. That is good news, I hope they find a director that can produce talent.
  2. We are stuck with Getz for a while or until JR sells. Positives: Bannister, pitching development. Weaknesses: Scouting, position player & batting development, International Free Agents. Any ideas how the Sox can to tap into the International market ? , Another Maggs or even Carlos Lee would be a nice find.
  3. Good catch on Strasburg. The first 3 posts in the thread mention Rendon, Bryant, Baez, and Trout. Here is what is owed, excluding bonuses: Rendon: 2 years, $77.1 million. He is mostly likely physically done. Bryant: 4 years, $108 million. Good guy but just breaking down, he also might be physically done. I read now he has arthritis setting in, not good. Baez: 3 years, $73 million. Javy is the most physically able on this short list, he still a plus defender, solid ballplayer, but his bat has gone away. Trout: 6year, $222 million. In the last 5 years he has missed a ton of games. He is still a stud if he can stay on the diamond and not the trainer's room.

It is really a shame that the Sox cannot get maximum production out of Robert. A massive amount of talent, 5 tool, but this franchise is a joke top to bottom. Where is the hitting coach? Who is working with Robert? This is the franchise's 1 legit star position player. Just a meaningless rant on my part, nothing will change until a new owner comes in.
  5. The Athletic had a story on Larry Sheets losing 21 in a row with the 1988 Orioles and now his son Gavin loses 21 in a row with the Sox. I hope the White Sox don't draft the grandson.
  6. The brunette on the right is Alanna Rizzo, she is on the MLB Network, one of the shows she does is High Heat with Mike "Mad Dog" Russo. I am not familiar with the blonde on the left, but she knows her stuff. Alanna Rizzo is well informed and not just a talking head, she knows baseball and talks baseball all day. The fact that she can get a word in edge wise with Mad Dog Russo is an accomplishment by itself.
  7. Pedro can take the Amtrak back to Chicago to pick up his belongings.
  8. I will compliment Pedro on his very nice teeth. He made good use of his dental program while in Chicago. Me on the other hand, I have grinded my teeth down watching the bullpen implode.
  9. As the perceptive Virgo Moon conjoins analytical Mercury at 1:19 am EDT, this might become an overwhelming flow of information. While Luna squares aggressive Mars, That's it, we win tonight!
  10. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is considering Pedro for a hurricane name when the Sox break the all-time record.
  11. The one's that do will be more informed. And just in case some of the local sports radio guys see this, Bernstein go #@!% yourself.
  12. I am confident the Sox will have a better record in 2025 with 50 or so wins.
  13. I am still interested in the call ups and the minor league development. Thank God for Future Sox, I love those guys. To try and keep some type of hope I thought about how bad Baltimore sank. They stunk and were stuck with a terrible owner, and they turned it around. JR isn't going to be around forever. My suggestion is to eat healthy and work out, so you outlive him.
  14. Pedro after he learned he wasn't fired, when asked about JR, singing his answer to the media, all 1 of them. "Well, he's all you'd ever want He's the kind I like to flaunt and take to dinner But he always knows his place He's got style, he's got grace, he's a winner He's a winner Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, he's a winner"
  15. Let's go Ky!! Brooks got 3 hits, Sosa & Vargas both got a hit. All I care about are the youngsters on this roster.
  16. If JR brings anyone in this season to replace Pedro he will be looking at a floor of at least $16.20 per hour. Starting July 1, 2024 the Chicago minimum wage applies to any employer with 4 or more employees.
  17. Guess Pedro's next job: I will pick Coroner, he would hit the ground running.
  18. Sox Forecast: Despair
  19. I don't subscribe to the Sun Times, but I get the gist of the article. I have turned down free ticket's because I don't want to give any money, even if it is for parking, to JR. In 2025 I seriously doubt I will get the new Sox/Bulls/Hawks tv package, I will keep up to date on social media. If the youngsters on the team show some progress and pride I will have some intrigue. I have always been a White Sox fan and will be buried a Sox fan but going forward I will not spend one dime for any team JR owns.
  20. A sliver of hope could be what happened in Baltimore. Peter Angelos was loathed by the O's fan base and the team sucked. New ownership has got the team back on the winning track. I am assuming MLB will want an AL franchise in Chicago if a new owner buys the Sox.
  21. With Thorpe I am hoping rest will be the cure.
  22. Jerry should fire himself, then the next guy that takes over can fire Getz.
  23. For doubting any SoxTalk posters on just how terrible the White Sox were going to be I'm really really sorry, I apologize. I do offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you, or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.
  24. The first split squad game in spring training
  25. JR deserves getting ripped for being an incompetent owner, but this isn't his style. He actually is a mench when it comes to charity and not putting his name out there to get the pub for it. Hopefully the Sox make things right for the kids and parents.
