Wow, it is so nice to have a real alternative to BBTN. the MLB studio shows are SO much better. Hopefully Ravech goes over there when he's done on ESPN and doesn't have to deal with clowns like Kruk and Phillips anymore

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4040009 How about Burress?? I hear he will only get probation for his legal issue. On the radio I've heard the direct opposite, basically the DA has said any plea has to include a minimum of jail, I've heard 5 months to a year.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) Pittsburgh lost to Manatee CC. I know it was a bunch of minor leaguers, but still. http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/news/box...macbbc_pitmlb_1 When I saw "Manatee CC" I thought they just lost a spring training came to Sabathia

out of town scoreboard looks awesome, the old one was looking dated

He signed with the Mets according to WSCR 4:30 update, I didn't hear any details on years or cash

Are the Sox moving Opening Day to Tuesday?

Just happened to listen to the Score update and nothing, I imagine as the flagship they would be on top of it. -
Cowley: Alexei Best Sox Defensive Player of Spring Training
SoxFan562004 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gold Gloves stopped meaning anything to me when Jeter won, he is a bad defensive SS. Also, wasn't there a year when Raphael Palmero (sp?) won and he played in a ridiculously low number of games? -
Gotta love Norm MacDonald... http://deadspin.com/5196193/espn-will-neve...r-do-this-again

Crede cool under pressure at hot corner
SoxFan562004 replied to Linnwood's topic in The Diamond Club
I love Crede because he was a big part of '05, but he's a huge risk and I want to see how his back holds up on concrete for 81 games. Also, if he's any good this year the Twins better not fall in love with him because Boras will get him a high $ contract. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) McDaniels is an arrogant f***. He might pan out, but he's being awful ballsy for a young head coach. Yup, he has a Belicheck (sp?) attitude without the resume, let's see how it works out. It will be interesting to see how fans who have seen real quaterbacks react to Orton. I love Shlereth (that is spelled completely wrong, I'm just lazy, it's the guy on ESPN who was a Broncos O-Lineman) ripping the move after he went on a tirade against Cutler for saying he had a stronger arm then Elway. ESPN, got to love it!

Dana White will be scaling back his public profile with the UFC after he went on a crazy rant on his video blog using the F word that refers to homosexuals numerous times. An apology was posted and we won't see as much of him any more. http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/8866/

This is really awesome. I am so excited for this season and the future!

On paper I guess the Bears overpaid, but with Angelo's success with first round picks I am 100% ok with this deal. The Bears have a 25 year old quarterback who, on paper, is probably the most talented in franchise history. If they get anything out of Pace, this was a hell of a day. Hats of to Angelo and the Bears org, I NEVER thought this was a possability

I hope so, that would be cool!

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) One of the keys is a salad at some point in the day. One it can be filling, two it gets you some of your most important nutrients. I always eat one with spinach, shredded carrots, broccoli, peas and low-fat ranch dressing. Sometimes, I'll put croutons or bacon bits to get some flavor. For most of my life, I have never been a veggie person, but now I love em. that's a good suggestion and one I should probably start up

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 12:47 PM) At least that is the report. I fully believe Tim Floyd has the ability to be an elite college coach and while I thought he was going to eventually turn USC into a national champion contender I have no doubt that he'll keep Arizona's program at the high level it was during the Lute Olsen tenure. I agree, I think he's an excellent college coach and this is a good choice by Arizona.

the key to this situation turning out OK is Getz having a solid rookie year. Hopefully Ozzie will stick him in at leadoff then let BA patrol CF at the bottom part of the order. Without this the Sox are in alot of trouble at the top of their order.

Reno 911! came back yesterday with a good episode. It will take awhile to adjust to no Clemmentine and Garcia since they've been with the show since the beginning, but that show usually delivers.

I think a good addition to this section would be this thread dedicated to exchanging healthy meal ideas. As we all know diet is one of the most important parts of losing weight or adding muscle. Also, I think it's important to get in a good eating routine that isn't a fad crash diet. So, I eat this meal about 4-5 times a week: 1 chicken breast 1 serving brown rice 1 serving jarred marinara sauce Simply prepare each ingrident and combine! It's simple and if you need to you can make alot of it on Sunday night to warm during the week. I use Sricacha (sp?) sauce to spice the dish up.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 08:18 AM) I rank them as this: 1) Rio 2) Chicago 3) Tokyo 4) Madrid Madrid is last because of what you said. Tokyo is 3rd because they've hosted before, Rio is #1 because no games have ever been hosted in South America and I too have thought they want Rio to step up and prove they can do it. If not, it's in Chicago. I heard that Rio is still having a ton of problems dealing with the kidnapping and other crime issues. -
mods, I think a great idea for a thread in this subsection would be recipe suggestions. I know what I struggle with the most when I'm serious about staying in shape (I'm in that silly window where I'm probably about 10-15 lbs away from being in real good shape, but I just maintain that level) is what to eat. I do a pretty good job of having a routine of similar foods and it doesn't bug me too much, but every now and then I want something different and have a hard time getting good recipes. Right now I eat oatmeal with bananas x2 a day, a turkey sandwitch x2 a day and usually brown rice, chicken breast and marinara sauce (usually with some sriacha (sp?) sauce for some spice). Sometimes I'll mix in a little steak or another healthy type meal. Also, I usually cheat 2 times a week, when I'm serious it's a strict 1 day cheat.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 11:59 AM) PEDs? I've always suspected it from actors... see Edward Norton in 'American History X' and Rourke in 'The Wrestler', or that dude in '300'. I realize Rourke was a boxer, but he's also 175 years old now. No way he can bulk up that quickly. I don't have a link at my side right now, but Rourke pretty much confirmed he did for The Wrestler. I don't want to post any specific things, but I've heard stuff that is stronger than message boards, one with a guy in a movie about Dragons. Like I said before too, alot has to do with the money and time they have available, not every crazy transformation is due to PEDs, but ptac and other people on the board probably know what to look for to lean towards the notion that people used juice

OK, this is a dumb question because I don't see myself ever in this position, but with all the talk about the Obamas and protocal when meeting the English Monarchs i was wondering what is a normal U.S. citizen expected to do? Say I am visiting London and for whatever reason I encounter the Queen. I wouldn't feel comfortable bowing and I don't think I'm expected to, or am I because I'm on their turf? Anyone have a clue?

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 07:13 AM) That kid has bounced around a little bit, hasnt he? I think I remember Hawk waxing poetic about his arm last year and wondering how he hasnt stuck with one team I will have to take a look at his numbers against other teams, because as we all know the Sox have a habit of making horrible pitchers look awesome.

Also, to get in really good shape, boxing, jiu jitsu or MMA is a great way to go. Mix one of those workouts in x2 a week with some weights and a good diet and you will see changes very quickly
