Old Bush Stadium Jacobs Field The new Cincy park Dodger's stadium and of course Old Comiskey, the Cell, and the Urinal

I worked for a TCF bank one summer and it isn't the greatest run bank. One of the problems is that the branches always change managers so there's no accountability. When you go to Jewel make it a point to look at the TCF door where the manager's name is, it changes all the time

QUOTE (thedoctor @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 08:41 AM) in today's "water is wet" new, indians closer kerry wood is hurt. cleveland plain dealer Shocking I hope the Tribe have ample towels for the towel drill and if anyone hasn't had their simulated game fantasy draft, Wood is always a 1st rounder

I wish Owens would have dropped that, they're going to make any excuse to hand him that job

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) I really wish Rooney would have stuck around to broadcast with Stoney. Hawk could be the Erin Andrews on the field. Except way less hotter

easy stolen base and a bloop falling in, unfortunately we'll see a lot of that this year. Hopefully BA can pull a miracle spring out of his ass and start in center

first impression, DJ and Farmio are good

sounds like a good play by Josh, he has to play at least average there this year

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) Andy Richter Controls the Universe . . . Awesome. Especially the episode with Conan. Andy Barker P.I. . . . Wretched. Um, you're missing Quintuplets, horrible show (but the blonde chick was hot and yes, I had to check IMDB to make sure that was OK to say) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0725200/ Hey, Andy worked a lot, especially lately. I am so jacked he is coming back!

QUOTE (JustWin @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 09:20 AM) Very true. And the new owner suppposedly met his wife at a Cubs game so if he's a big fan they'll probably continue to spend money and be a perennial playoff contender. They'll become the Yankees of the NL. That makes me sick even thinking about it. I'm sure someone's about to say "the Yankees haven't won the WS in 8 years" or whatever but that's not even the point. You hate to wish injury on anyone but that might be the only way to slow the Cubs down if they keep spending and the rest of the division doesn't (whatever happened to the Cardinals, by the way??). If the Cubs start making the playoffs year after year after year, no one but us Sox fans will even know the Sox exist in this town. Hell, it's almost like that now. I think the second day after the announcement he basically said it won't be an open checkbook. The Sox will always have their core fans which has been big enough to have a top 10 (5?) payroll the last few years. As long as the Sox make an effort and put a winning product on the field they will make money

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...8&zoneid=13 UFC inks Akiyama. Very good signing, the UFC MW division went from weak to crazy deep in about 6 months. If they sign Ishii in the next few days it points to me that they're looking to run a show in Asia soon.

the Count has a solid year

In with a pic of me and Southpaw and I'm going to add Kittle

QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) I think Maia should take it slow before wanting a title shot. If he can improve on his standup then a year from now he could be in a prime spot for a title shot. I think Stevenson is nothing more than a gatekeeper. The UFC should limit him to UFN main event status. As much as I hate Diego and can't wait to see a LW mop the floor with him, he ended up being 100% right about Stevenson, he hasn't evolved at all. All he tried to do was look for one punch to rock Diego, and that likely wasn't going to happen. UFC is extremely loyal to the early TUF'ers so he probably won't go anywhere, but UFNs are where he belongs these days. Kos took about 4 steps back last night, and I don't want to hear from him or people who say it was an early stop, his eyes rolled and his arms went limp. He did recover quickly, but the ref was right to stop it the second he saw that. Marquardt is an excellent fighter and if it wasn't for Anderson he would be much more popular. Looks like Wand will fight Rich Franklin at UFC 99 at a catch weight of 195 lbs. Kind of a big match for both those guys.

best of luck to Joe, but I'm suprised about the Twins since they play 81 games on concrete, probably won't help his back

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/rumors.asp? UFC 95 free on Spike Saturday night. Solid card, espicially since it's free. Stay away from MMA sites during the day since it's in London and spoilers will probably be up on there. That Marquardt/Gouveia fight has potential to be excellent, Marquardt is a very good fighter but has been buried a little with Anderson Silva's dominance. Sanchez at 155 could be a beast and Joe Daddy is a gamer, if you want to see a bloodbath watch the Joe Daddy/Penn fight. Kos has evolved lately as a fighter and should entertain. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...cleid=8126& These are the rumored bouts for Strikeforce's rumored debut on Showtime. Diaz/Shamrock has potential, but Shamrock will have a size advantage on him. Shields is a heck of a fighter and always worth watching. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...8&zoneid=14 WEC is giving Chicago an excellent card. Also, there's scuttle that UFC will bring back Cro Cop. Some rumors have him fighting Randy on 99 in Germany. Not sure if they're only interested in bringing him back for the Germany card or for longer. As always, go to F4Wrestling.com it's Meltzer's site and he's got great MMA sources.

I think the Cubs are going to struggle a lot with their pen this year as well as dealing with the pain of having Harden all year. If they were in any other division I would pick a suprise team to beat them out this year, but with that division, Cubs win it in a cakewalk

ARod Press Conference about to start 2/17 10:45 am

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 09:43 AM) To be honest. Aramis Ramirez came out with a quote yesterday that I cannot agree more with. He basically said not everyone was "part of the culture". Not every player cheated, and the ones who did shamed the game. I agree with him, that's a great way to put it. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 01:21 PM) Overall impressive is that he's being as honest as he can be. Basically he's saying he was just clueless, he had a neck injury and decided to stop. I would ask him whart the real name of this "boley" is . sounds short for bolic or anabolic. No ones asked him if he knows what is actually was yet. That is if you believe him, i have a hard to believing he only did it the years he said he did. He hired a PR firm, this was all planned -

I have no interest in this press conference, if I wanted to be lied to I would go to a strip club with a fistfull of $20's... Also, the "young" excuse doesn't fly for me he was in MLB for something like 5-7 years and he had a $250m contract, if you want big boy money and responsabilities you have to play by big boy rules. -
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) I figured as much, and was just funnin'. Amazing to think that Dunces might very well never have been published if there wasn't a carbon copy of the manuscript left in his room for his mother to find after his death. It's really time to reread that one. Yeah, how it got published is one of the oddest stories, epecially since his mom was so persistant with it too. The copy I have has a forward by the professor who helped get it published. I would assume Toole was hoping to write more books continuing stories of some of the characters. I can say that's the one thing about the book, it leaves me wanting more. I've seen they've tried to make it a movie a few times but always end up not happening for various reasons. Early on there was plans with Belushi and Pryor and then recentally a reading done with Will Farrel (sp?) Lily Tomlin and Paul Rudd. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Confederacy...ilm_adaptations

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 01:24 PM) You mean, how Toole wrote the book. I meant the sections where Ignatius was writing his journals/books, basically write a simple two sentence one and then one about how Ignatius would write his own obit

Baseball Prospectus has Sox down for 74 wins
SoxFan562004 replied to palehose23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Vegas and other projections had roughly the same number last year and the Sox out performed. The main reason for the numbers the last two years IMO are the back of the rotation. Last year Danks and Floyd were HUGE questionmarks and again the Sox find themselves with questions at 4 and 5. -
how it should be, if he performs he should make it, but a 29 year old AAAA player shouldn't have a guaranteed spot on any team
