  1. It's unreal that basically once the opponets score their 2nd run, the pitching staff basically has to hold them there, a 3rd run and the game is over
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) I'm shocked we've beat this Yankees team 3 times this year. I'm not overly shocked, the Yankees have a horrible bullpen and their SP is bad. As I posted yesterday, yesterday's offesnive performance was one of the most pathetic I can remember, there were hanging BB and 88mph FBs all night, and the Sox just dribbled down their leg.
  3. IMO that was a big marketing pick by a team that IMO often puts that ahead of their actual on the field team. The Cubs got to draft a ND golden boy and feed off the attention. If in Sept they need a boost of attention they'll drag his ass up and throw him in the BP
  4. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) LMFAO. SO true. My joke about Uribe last year was that you didn't even need a baseball--you could throw a canned ham over the plate and he'd STILL swing at it. Ugh. lots of those ABs all around tonight. It was horrible, the Sox had ample opportunities, with the pitches to hit to score runs and they completely failed it was so bad Hawk and DJ didn't even falsely trump up the opposing pitchers
  5. well tonight's game against the Yankees was one of the worst offensive performances I've seen in a long time. The last few years the Sox have made a habit of making average pitchers look awesome, but tonight was a new low. The first 3 pitchers all had eras over 4.00, they were hanging BB and laying hittable FBs all night. It was so bad Hawk and DJ didn't even compliment the opposing pitchers
  6. I'll throw on Charlie Hough, loved that knuckelball!
  7. I remember when Steiner made the transformation from normal member of the tag-team with the mullet, to like 2 weeks later with the Big Poppa Pump look. Obviously one of the biggest juicer transformations in history
  8. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ....tuesday/2.html Last part of this page says that when Cashman saw the rumors he called KW (apparently nothing was ever talked about between the GMs) and KW said no.
  9. I agree with Kyyle, this team is playing horrible baseball. I'll watch the games on picture in picture, and this team is dropping pop-ups, making bad errors, and getting picked off or just overall bad baserunning. On top of that Eyre and Howry, especially Eyre has been bad as any of the Sox bull-pen. No matter who was managing this team, they would be having trouble.
  10. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) anyone think this will actually be played tonight? http://www.weather.com/outlook/homeandgard...6hr_topnav_home this is the forecast with the U.S. Cellular zipcode. Looks like 50% chance early, I bet they push to get it in
  11. like the line-up, with pros, sometimes an ego bruise is what it takes
  12. I guessed 6 when I heard a few things that the commissioner was consider "real world" punishment as a factor. So, if he can actually get it to 6, about what I expected. Good luck to him
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/draft2007/co...&id=2892330 Good article looking back at the 2002 draft. I found it interesting
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 08:32 AM) He wasn't really a target though either. They said they wanted Sil, Bobby, and Tony. So pissed I have to wait a week. P.S. Was that his mom's old house that they are hiding in at the end? I don't believe so, it might be, but A&E has been showing old ones, and recently the one were Meadow had the party at the house was on, and I remember it being a different style of house
  15. Am I remembering correctly that Patsy is kind of unaccounted for at the end of the episode? He kind of ran off after they tried to grease him, but I don't remember seeing him again. Although a ton happened, so I could have just forgot that they did show him again
  16. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) If you are the GM... Who is safe from your wrath right now... For me it's Danks, Pierzynski, and Buehrle... thats it. the problem is, I don't think anything will happen. KW or whoever makes a statement will say something along the lines that even though they've been horrible they're still not out of it and that he trusts the team he has...
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) Ok people, once again, Ozzie was booted out of the game and nobody has any proof that he was still managing from the clubhouse. I'm assuming Cora was making the moves which would probably be exactly what Ozzie would of done, but most people here wanted Masset in the 6th, I did. ok, you're right, I am sorry, should have remembered that. Whoever made that call, that was pathetic
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 03:11 PM) Send down: Masset (so he can start in AAA), Aardsma, and DL or send down Mac, depending on his options Call up: Prinz, Vasquez, Bukvich Day threw 2 scoreless, can't send him down after that considering what everybody else has done. And it's clear Masset needs works as a starter in AAA, he can't throw out of the pen. exactly, with this BP, IMO he should get the ball the next time a RH is needed out of the bullpen, who cares, he got 6 outs without allowing a run, he's now the 2nd best arm in that bullpen
  19. If I read Accardo's numbers right, lefties were hitting .098 off him and righties were hitting around .240... so Ozzie PHs Cintron for Uribe??!?!?
  20. Aardsma, he'll give up runs via line drives and homeruns, I can stomach that a ton more than walks
  21. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) I will agree with one point - I'm tired of hearing Ozzie vent about not being afraid to make changes and then nothing happens. Sending Sisco to AAA was not a drastic move. If he wants to back up his smack he should DL Mac, AAA Ardsma and bring up some men who aren't afraid to throw strikes. Screw their development! Exactly, I keep hearing Oz and KW talk about not being afraid to shake it up, then do it! The drastic Sisco move would have been to bring up Day and throw him into the fire, may have been horribe, but so what, he's 27, not a top prospect, need to do something
  22. well, i'll take the slightly optomistic view that, other than Indians, the AL is not running away, and the Sox are still in a WC chase. With that said, I agree with your drastic bullpen blowup. That's long overdue. I s***can Walker, the 0-50 does it for me.
  23. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) please tell me who the hell you're talking about bringing into the game? Because I see no one in the pen getting anyone out. I'm sure you can find many other things to hang on Ozzie, but you're forcing the issue here. His hands are tied. then I say take the drastic step and bring jenks in during 7/8, at this point I would rather see the bad pen blow it in the 8/9, something different
  24. the 0-50 should have Walker finding his own way home from Toronto. I am interested to see Owens swing in one week. He has a slap leadoff style swing, which he needs to use, if he's lifting and pulling in one week he should sue Walker for attempting to ruin his career
  25. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) Quick question: do you find no fault with Ozzie for blowing 10 games with late leads? IMO Thorton should be the one getting beat at this point. Or take the drastic step and have Jenks the first one out of the bullpen and let the others blow it late, at least it will get to the later innings. Prinz and Gio should be on a plane right now
