  1. it is really painful to watch now. Phillips is a complete train wreck on that show. They did a segment last night where Kruk and Orel drafted 5 pitchers each from the starters of last night and tracked their progress. It was a lame concept, which was executed poorly, poorly edited and an all around nightmare. You get about 15 minutes of Yankees/Red Sox coverage and short highlights of the other games with gimmicky segments in between. Also, the addition of Dusty Baker sucks. He is as bad at commentating as he is at managing I do agree that Web Gems are the only thing worthwhile on it. Also, I think Ravich is good, but is getting crap to work with
  2. we'll have to see if the Sunday line-up is imposed. (although Pablo should be at 3b because Crede won't be ready until the weekend, and having Toby over Gustavo is an upgrade offensively.)
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 23, 2007 -> 07:57 AM) After Danks perfomance last night, is it 25 quality starts in a row out of this staff? Thats downright filthy right there. If this team can hit on all cylinders after the allstar break, it could be a fearsome sight for opposing teams. Close to it, but I don't think Massett's start against the Cubs was a QS, I think he went less than 6 innings. Nonetheless, it was a good performance by him, and the staff is the only reason the Sox are still close to a playoff spot
  4. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 22, 2007 -> 08:39 AM) If Vasquez comes up and walks the first guy you will be calling for KW's head for not acquiring Rocky Cherry in the deal. Go read Mike Downey's article this morning in the Trib. I love how every media guy can GM and spend other people's money. To keep Lee and Ordonez the payroll would be $140M. not to mention the Sox won the world series after moving on from these players
  5. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) What exactly happened to Crede today? I find it hard to believe he couldn't have played. Pablo was a real suckfest out there. I have the exact same question, Pablo isn't setting the world on fire, Crede's D should have given the edge if it was a coin toss
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) Well, s***, we're going to lose upwards of 70 games this year. This loss has no effect on anyone else on the AL, giving them a better record. These games are of the least consequence. I'd really like to see us sport a real LF though. Terrero and Sweeney aren't doing it for me. It'd be super if Brian could figure it out and become a member of our OF again. I still think Ryan needs another year in AAA. I tend to agree with you, this loss was obviously pathetic, but Javy has been pitching well, so go get them tomorrow. Zambrano has had 1 good start recentally, and he is a head case, so I'm not quite putting that one in the loss column just yet
  7. QUOTE(jenksd @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) As opposed to the bashers who have yet to make a single argument in this entire thread towards what exactly Ozzie did to lose this game. MacDougal for me. He has struggled a lot lately, it was time to try someone else. If you didn't want to use Aardsma due to the "ex-team factor" then Massett or Thorton should have gotten a shot
  8. QUOTE(G&T @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) Funny thing about Sweeney's stance is that about a week ago, Hawk said that they were working with him to make him more agressive because he was taking a lot of first pitch fastballs. Since then, he has tanked. Right, which will make it even funnier when KW, Ozzie and every other member of the Sox say that this slump has nothing to do with Walker
  9. QUOTE(G&T @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) He fell asleep in the fourth. Actually, he didn't tip his cap to anyone. It was an old school silent broadcast. I think I was more upset at the moves by Ozzie than the actual results. What's up with Crede? is he hurt? Because Pablo or him aren't hitting, and if that's the case I would take Joe in the lineup 10 out of 10 times.
  10. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) Sox had their own broadcast... well luckily at work we had the Cubs, hearing Hawk would have pissed me off more, I'm sure he was stroking the Cubs pitching
  11. QUOTE(Balance @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) This was one MacDougal gave away. It's going to suck having to hear it from my Cub-fan friends tonight. 1908, who's closer to 1st place/playoffs this year... that's the ammo I have
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) For those listening what was Hawk like in the late innings? it was a Cubs broadacast
  13. what a joke, I'll give the Cubs credit for taking advantage, but the Sox just wrapped that game up and handed it to them. 4 errors! Offense still looking like crap! Massett may not have earned the top RH set-up man spot, but MacDougall handed it to him today. What was MBs pitch count when he was pulled?
  14. Look, if Toby Hall is swinging like he is, but throwing is hurting, MB is the perfect pitcher for him like a post above mentioned. Lily is a style of LHP that has hurt the Sox before, hopefully Hall's bat will be a solution to that mystery
  15. santo=dorf, you have to explain your av

    The Office

MY POST BELOW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!! BE WARNED!!!!! I watched last weeks on TiVo and then the finale tonight. They both were great, however, I have to say the ending with Ryan I did not like very much. I can't say why, coming off the Jim and Pam last scene, I thought having a minor character have such a potential jump seemed off. I guess the show has had such good timing and pace, and that ending seemed odd and a stumble. Since it was the extra thing, maybe it turns out he got another job at corperate headquarters, but not Jan's job.
  17. I would imagine that Ron Santo audio from the 9th inning has to be an instant classic
  18. Nice win. NY's hitting was struggling coming in and for 2 out of 3 the pitching kept it that way, another awesome starting effort, and good to see Dye put the team on his back for this one
  19. good call to try the steal, just didn't work out
  20. Juan's streak hitting may be taking a turn for the worse
  21. I don't think the Sox have faced the pitcher for NY... that always makes for some fun!
  22. Anyone know how Hall is fielding/throwing at catcher? Hitting seems great, but catching for him will be important as well
  23. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 16, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) Lets go Sox. Lets get two today. Anyone here think Mike Mussina will make the hall of fame? I don't, I think he has good numbers, but not HOF level.
  24. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 14, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) I've always wondered why teams didn't just hide behind such laws when disclosing injuries. I thought NCAA teams were going to start doing this, but info flow doesn't seem to have changed
