  1. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ May 1, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) Did someone say that or is this an opinion? I dont think the military will deny him because of a creative writing paper. Right, if he's found NG, they should take him since he would not have commited a crime. Also, in my experience, military will take people as long as they are not currently on conditional discharge or supervision. Judges will usually go light on kids who are going into the military.
  2. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Not sure how I feel about this... Derek Lee basically blames the Cubs flatness yesterday on Hancock's death, although he does mention the Sunday off hurting as well. To me it kind of comes off bad to mention that, but that's just my opinion
  3. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:02 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/rpi?sortColumn=sos Well the Sox have played the hardest schedule in the AL so far, and have had no hitting. I guess the fact they're about 3 games out and 1 game over .500 isn't all that bad at this point. The key is when they get the under .500 teams this year, to BEAT THEM!!
  4. I spoke to Ivan Caulderon on a ouija board and he gave me advice on gold chains
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) Matt Capps of the Pirates is single handedly winning me holds every week. ERA well under 1 right now, has been dominating, and meanwhile the beloved Pirates have won 4 in a row and moved into 2nd behind the Brew Crew in the NL Central. My fantasy saviors have been Jon Maine and Tom Glavine. I got them later in the draft, and they have been putting up Quality Starts and wins at a good clip
  6. so what, authorities knew this was going on and were supposed to ignore it? So when someone with a fake I.D. committed a major crime using the fake they would have gotten flack for that? They knew of illegal activity and they acted on it
  7. any predictions/forecasts on whether or not the weather lets this game happen?
  8. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) I miss the Tribune's Prior Watch. Wonder if we'll ever see that again. for this year they can have updates of what's on his TiVo and what new CDs he has bought
  9. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:04 PM) Should've been A-Rod! Congrats Mark! I wouldn't be shocked if NY radio was making the A-Rod argument
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) You may be thinking of Dewon Brazelton. you are exactly right, thanks, that would have bugged me all day
  11. Chris Sabo fitted me for some rec specs so the wind wouldn't get in my eyes during my foot race with Mike LaValliere
  12. Was this guy a big prospect for another org about 3-4 years ago... Possibly Tampa Bay? The name sounds familiar
  13. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) Sheryl Crow says we should use one square per "visit". http://www.rte.ie/arts/2007/0424/crows.html I don't want to be anywhere near Sheryl Crow's nether regions. That may explain why Rove didn't want to talk to her...
  14. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) Most recent power ratings.... CNNSI 13th (up from 19) ESPN 17th (down from 13?) this is why the ratings make no sense, this article came out after Thursday's games, so we had just beaten Oakland 2/3 on the road, had a no hitter and took 2/3 from the Rangers and we went down??? DUMB, DUMB, DUMB (I think the same guy had the Angels at 25th) cbssportsline (were 22nd, new rankings out today) 22nd??? I know power rankings don't mean anything, but with what the pitching has done, there's no way there's 21 teams better than the Sox
  15. i would suggest this is one item you may want to overpack for...
  16. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:50 PM) I still think Meadow takes over the family ala Michael Corleone. The good offspring turns bad. She has been slowly defending and accepting her family's role more and more... I think that would be a great ending...A real purgetory for Tony. David Chase has always said "Goodfellas" is his bible for "The Sopranos" I think they would seriously have to rev up Meadows character in the 6 (?) remaining episodes. IMO she hasn't been a big enough part to pull that off. If Tony flips, who would he rat on? I guess he could pin everything on Uncle Junior, but with Jonny Sac dead, Tony seems like the big fish the FBI want. I guess after reading my post I should go out on a limb and give my opinion so I just don't critique others!! I really have no clue, but if I would have to guess I would say they will do a soft ending, meaning they might have a major thing happen, like a Silvio or Tony's family member get killed, but the last scene will be Tony going on with business as usual, showing that he could never help himself, and was destined for this life.
  17. Ozzie's inability to manage a bullpen never ceases to amaze me. You would figure I would be use to it now. I let Ross Gload beat me there with MMac. Sanders is a solid player and Thorton has sucked this year... unbelievable. (not to mention putting Sisco in to begin that inning)
  18. My dad and I were just talking and have a question. I watch a TON of Sox games, as much as I can, but does anyone remember Hawk and DJ just flat out saying the Sox hitters were not hitting a bad pitcher making bad pitches? Trust me, I know it's posted a lot about the announcers making every pitcher out to be Cy Young, I post about it. But does anyone actually remember them saying it was on the sox offense?
  19. there's a the Holiday Inn Martinique on, I believe 6th Ave. You would have to take the subway, but there's a stop right outside. Not super nice, but not a dump. Walking distance to Broadway and Times Square
  20. I've seen him pitch twice now, and I think he's going to be a very good pitcher. However, he had as much hype as any pitcher since Prior, so every one of his starts are going to be examined to nauseum. I thought it was a little much with the people picking him as the Cy Young winner this year. The start against the Yankees showed me a lot, he started off rough and really settled down and gave his team a chance to win the game.
  21. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) It was a case of a lot of little things adding up. Paulie trying to cover every detail about the job the FBI was digging up, running his mouth constantly (even mentioning some murdered hippie in a group as uncontrollable as those three women), betraying confidence to Johnny Sack, being a prime target for the feds without any earnings. And this for a guy who's had money problems often enough. There's little to recommend Paulie now except pure loyalty, and Tony's trying to weigh that against practicality. I think it might also be establishing a theme of Tony's increasing paranoia. It seems he is having trouble trusting people around him. Chris, testing Bobby's loyalty to him (putting him in his place) and not Paulie.
  22. Pods had a good start at the plate this year, but seeing Mack and Anderson in LF is like night and day. They take good routes to balls and look confident.
  23. QUOTE(DaGame2584 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) Is there a website that I can look on and find out tonight's lineups of all the MLB games? probably not since clubs don't submit them until, some help would be appreciated on this, but I would guess 2 hours before game time. I believe your standard espn.com, mlb.com, etc, would post them an hour or so before hand
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 08:16 AM) ARod's good... I just have an image of Boras smoking a huge cigar laughing his ass off like master criminal
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Sliders like his=elbow injuries. Everyone in their org knew it. Seems like they did know it was a real possibility. I believe last year they tried to harness him with pitch-counts and limiting his innings, etc... I wonder if this offseason they realized either he'll blow it out or he'll be oneof the freaks that doesn't get injured and just rolled the dice.
