I think the Sox have answered that for me over the last stretch, I would take solid pitching. the Sox haven't hit at all, but still have put together a nice run.

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
SoxFan562004 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
looks like they changed it with "this is an old thread" but something saying he's still on rehab would be great! Good to hear he's swinging well, any update on how he is throwing? -
I quasi work a government job. IMO... pros: Good retirement plan, great health insurance, you get 13-14 holidays, some positions give you 2 weeks vacation at the beginning, it's a pretty solid 9-5 job, with not a lot extra asked. cons: money is what it is, it's OK, but you need to enjoy the pros to deal with the money, especially if you're a professional who could make more in the private sector.

Didn't Cle lose 2 out of 3 against Anaheim and the A's? The Sox won those series, it might not have been pretty, but they're winning games

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/13/07 (L)

QUOTE(fathom @ May 13, 2007 -> 12:07 AM) Gustavo with another chance to get his first hit....and it might be his last chance. My predicted lineup is: Ozuna, Uribe, Dye, Konerko, Crede, Iguchi, Terrero, Gonzalez, Molina Listening to the score, it sounds like you're right on except switch Sweeney for Gonzalez -
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ May 11, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) 24% doesn't seem unreasonable given this team's current offensive woes. I was a little suprised that it was that high, but I imagine their tough schedule up to this point plays into it

Braves meet with Rainbow/PUSH officials
SoxFan562004 replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in The Diamond Club
I think the issue has to be addressed at the grass roots level, ie inner-city academy type programs. Singling out individual teams doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. I'm sure the Braves and all other MLB teams are trying to put the best 25 men on their roster. -
QUOTE(joeynach @ May 8, 2007 -> 02:54 PM) Milwaukee is the best team in baseball and Atlanta is pretty Dam good too, I really dont think Det and Cle are getting a pass there. I agree, I think the Cubs are a good team, but Pitt isn't that great. If given the option I would take Cubs/Pitt over Milwaukee/Atlanta

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 7, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) Boxing is dead. And you can thank Don King and the lack of viable talent in this space. Matt Hughes and just about half of his weight class would put both of these boys down in about a minute. They have a punchers chance of catching one of them, but in reality is a slaughter. This is why UFC and MMA is so great. You get all styles. And now with Pride being bought up by UFC, you will see something that takes years in boxing. Superfights. First one is coming up with Lidell versus Jackson. Kro Kop got knocked the f*** out or he would of setup another superfight. At the end of the year they are going to have a champion versus champion UFC versus Pride. That will be worth my money on pay per view. A more reasonable fight for a MMA/Boxer IMO would be Sean Sherk or Gomi. Hughes fights at 170, and Mayweather and DeLa Hoya are at about 150-155.

hmmm, is the mafia making a Vegas comeback?!?!?

Good series win for the Sox. After all my angst over this team, they're .500 and 4 games out. With the offensive stats, that's a small miracle.
-
I think I would agree with the 115/113 score card for PBF. DeLa Hoya put on a better showing than I thought. Mayweather's hand speed amazes me, and thought if he pressed more he could have done more damage.
-
Hopefully this attention will prevent him from being kept on.

Anyone else currently regreting letting Ross Gload go?
SoxFan562004 replied to Chisoxrd5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ross is a solid player, but I would rather have Sisco. The blame should be going on PK and Dye for not picking up for Thome, not KW for trading Gload for Sisco. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ May 3, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Do they ever lock anyone up for this stuff? More fiines, longer probabtions Not knowing her full background, but what I've seen and heard in Cook and the collar counties, your 1st DUI they give you leeway. Not sure what number this is for her though.

Should be Mayweather fairly easily. Oscar still is highly skilled, but Mayweather is a better Sugar Shane, and Oscar struggled with him. I love boxing, so I will be watching. It certainly isn't what it use to be.

QUOTE(The Critic @ May 3, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) It's so irrelevant that you got the PPV's name wrong! It is.....sorry, WAS....December To Dismember! I no longer think Vince is trying to kill ECW. I think he's just trying (and succeeding) to water it down enough to just be a third brand. Which is the exact opposite of what I think he should do. The "brand extension" has run its course, and he inadvertently admits this when he crosses "superstars" over from show to show. I tend to agree with you about the brand extension not making a whole bunch of sense. The reason I think he keeps it hanging around is the luxury of having 2 main titles. He has 4 hours of TV to fill a week and a lot of superstars to keep happy. It's easier for him to do that with 2 titles than 1.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 3, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) Pretty much no... Spy Sweeper will always come up with things... it obviously all stems from the internet and cookies and all that s***... just sweep it at least once every other day. I threw one on my computer that does it automatically every morning at around 2:00 a.m. It has made a world of difference

I think something has to be shaken up, and at this point Walker is the likely candidate. For onfield, PK and Dye are to blame. They need to step up and have completely failed (and no, I don't consider 2 solo home runs good enough at this point)

QUOTE(fathom @ May 1, 2007 -> 11:40 PM) This was the first, non Johan Santana stated game, that I felt we had no chance to win since the 2005 season started. I don't know how our organization expects to win games right now with the lineup we're trotting out. To me it's not even the lineup, it's the approach. Everyone is trying to hit a homerun. With the pitching the sox have been getting and the opportunities given to the offense, the Sox should be winning more of these games.
-
The pitching keeps my hopes strong for the team, but the hitting approach is an absolute joke. JD striking out in the 8th and complaining about the called 3rd was frustrating after he swung at ball 4. Thome is a big loss, but JD and PK should be able to step it up and cover for him, he carried them for the first 20 games.
