solid game tonight. I was worried Bobby was going to be rusty, but he looked excellent

QUOTE(Nokona @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) The spin by these two idiots is hilarious Who, Len Casper the Friendly Ghost and Jonny Cakes? what are they saying... I mean, I could easily see Hawk saying "Wow, what fire, maybe this will turn things around"

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) After the initial altercation, Zambrano was shown walking tothe clubhouse and Barrett remained in the dugout. If they went at it again in the locker room, Barrett went down there to either start something again or apologize and settle him down. Who knows. Too many people gave Barrett a free pass on the AJ thing, even though he threw the first punch. I mean he had incidents with Oswalt in Houston before and AJ got slammed for that incident. Hopefully Barrett starts getting s*** for this

ever since I was young, and people would talk about "team chemistry" my dad pointed to the early 70's A's and said if the team is winning anything passes if the team loses the team either hates each other or they show no signs of life, and I've always bought that
-
They'll move Zambrano I think. They won't get what they would have got in the offseason, but they could still get something good for him. I'm sure Omar Minaya is on the phone right now.

If he's up here, I want to see him playing on a regular basis he may suck, but at least give him the full opportunity to do it

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) A group of friends started watching classic movies...this month was "East of Eden"... Dean is/was awesome. Hitchcock is next month, any suggestions? I took a class on him in college, it was great, he was truly amazing. It may sound simple, but the classics are classics for a reason, Psycho and the Birds.

QUOTE(SnB @ May 31, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) don't stress too much about your major, it probably won't matter anyways. (unless you're in something like engineering or education) i agree with this. I have a psychology major with a history minor and now I'm an attorney. Unless it's a highly specified field it won't matter too much. As far as writing being a dream or reality, who really knows. It comes down to how good you are and the opportunities that are offered to you. If you're one of those people who will wake up at 40 and be pissed you didn't give your dream a shot then go for it.

QUOTE(zenryan @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) my mistake. Rampage was going off at +200. Midday Saturday he was around +160. I think it was only an upset to those who only follow the UFC. I saw it as a coin flip or a slight edge to Chuck. Yes, Jackson dominated him in the first fight, but since then Chuck was undefeated, and I guess people will question the competition, but I think Randy's title win justified those 2 victories a lot. Jackson lost twice to Wanderli (granted one of those was the same night he beat chuck), lost to Shogun Rua, won a split with Ninja Rua, and his wins against Lindland and Eastmen were nothing spectacular. I was in no means shocked, I think Rampage is a bad matchup for Chuck, and he proved it again. The rumors are really flying that they will sign the Chuck vs. Wandy fight. That should be an awesome fight, both those guys really need that win.

well, I was mr. negative last night, so I'll repost my one glimmer of optimism, if Sox can turn it around, take these three games, they'll automatically pick up 3 games, in some combo, against CLE and DET... so let's go Sox!!!
-
i'm just dreading the "Jenks hasn't pitched in awhile" poor outing to blow a save this weekend. I am a HUGE Jenks fan IMO the main reason Sox were doing fine until July last year was Bobby

QUOTE(Allsox @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) No worries, Bears training camp opens in July lol true, and look, I've been supernegative all night on this board, but I'll throw one optomistic disclaimer in here. If they can do a complete 180 and take the next three games, with CLE and DET playing each other they will gain 3 games on the division leaders in some combonation (long shot I know, but Roy doesn't pitch every night)

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) We just aren't a very good team. Our offensive approach at the plate is terrible. I don't think anything will help this team at all right now. It's gonna be a long summer I think. which is a shame. I use sports as an escape, and I was hoping that the Sox would play meaningful games all summer, but at this pace and the way they look on the field, I have a hard time seeing that happening

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) Even though it's tought to watch games such tonight, the loss is easier to digest when you consider this White Sox team just isn't very good. They'll be around .500 the entire season -- perhaps feed off a weak National League for June -- but it's obvious this team isn't doing anything in October. Williams failed us this season. If this style of play continues, only one course of action is necessary -- selling players. And we'll need midseason deals that obviously favor us and immediately help our minor leauge system. Get on it, Williams. You'll have a lot of work to do over the next month. problem is, I think the Sox will feed off a weak NL in June and they'll be in sniffing distance at the trade deadline. Not that means that I think the way they're constructed/playing they're better than you say they are, but they'll have the illussion and Ozzie and KW will buy it

last week if I would of told you the Sox would have scored 4 runs off Santana at Minn and MB would throw a 2 hitter against the blue jays, never would you have believed they'd be mired in a 5 game losing streak and look lifeless doing it they need to pull a miracle in these next three games or we're looking at 4 months of meaningless baseball

QUOTE(zenryan @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:01 PM) f*** this team. if this team would have shown up the past 5 games, we would have been in 2nd place. get KW outta here. Great point, against TB and Minn while Det and Cle played each other and Cle lost 2 of 3 to Bos... the crapping down our leg in the Minn series was the worse -

what a stomach punch game, what an absolutely horrible losing streak. I could accept it so much more if the Sox just got flat out beat, but to beat themselves that many times is sad.... oh, for some of the other posters... golly gee, shucks, what a good effort, we'll get them tomorrow -

QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) Only the Sox could lose a 2 hitter and look SO dead! Hell will they see .500 again ? I think they'll make a token run at things soon -

the pull factor on this team is unreal. how can it be ignored this long? Maybe I'm jaded after watching this team, but Holliday had good stuff tonight, but not shutout... well, MB will lose a 2 hitter now
