  1. If it were a platoon situation maybe, but everyday, no way. That guy is a butcher at 2nd, below average in my opinion, and that is the balls he gets to, which is very few due to his limited range
  2. Hawk harping on Valdez dropping the ball costing the Sox 6 runs is silly. There's no way you can blame that dropped ball on all six runs, I personally blame Jose and his walks and hit batsmen.
  3. they'll have to be 6 back going into the 6 remaining games with the twins, then nothing but 6-0 or 5-1 against the Twins willl give them a chance
  4. She doesn't exactly tickle my fancy, I like my thick girls like Misty May
  5. The Marlins are about to sweep the Mets and get within 2 and 1/2 games of the Wildcard lead, with 6 games left against the leading Cubs. This team is really amazing and a lot of fun to watch. It gives me hope that Ozzie was around them last year, and he'll want to mold the Sox in a similar form. If you get a chance watch one of their games, they're exciting!
  6. Great stuff! I think the Red Sox may want to dump Damon's salary if they have to resign a bunch of their players and make a run at another FA.... not sure if his numbers would help with this, but I would love to see Captain Caveman in the outfield for the White Sox
  7. basically this article is saying the Sox are going to drop at least $19 million in contracts (with Maggs and Jose) and do zero to improve the offense???? I think it is FAR to early to speculate on what the Sox are going to look like next year. With the new TV contract and increased attendance (at least when the team was winning) I think the Sox will end up landing a major free agent pitcher and 2 good bats
  8. I agree, although I think even if the Sox keep it within 3 or 4 games they give themselves a legitimate shot
  9. Only way I would want KW to get Benson is if he can sign him to an extension before the trade is finalized. Because Pitt wants a major league player and a high prospect (so, Crede and Borchard, ie). Only would want to give that much up if he's not a rent a player, and that way we would have for the next 3 years a top three rotation of: Buehrle Garcia Benson That's something to build around
  10. This seems like an odd discussion because with all the pre-season talk I thought the Cubs already won the World Series... I think we're just halucinating....
  11. I was just happy that after the game Darren Jackson put the blame on E-Lo for yesterday's loss.... He basically said against this A's offense and against Mulder the offense getting you three runs has to be enough
  12. Quick Ricky Henderson story regarding the helmet: Apparently Ricky and Olerud played on the Mets at the same time, then later in their career on the Mariners together. Well, Olerud had told Ricky the story about why he wears the helmet when they were both on the Mets. The first day they were together on the Mariners Ricky walked up to Olerud and asked him why he wore the helmet, Olerud, who was very confused, just repeated the story to Ricky... Apparently Ricky's reply was "Wow, that's weird, Ricky played on the Mets with a guy like that." That's right up there with the fact that Ricky Henderson's alias on road trips is Rick Henderson
  13. aw, come on now.... this is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I asked a Magic 8-ball what Randy said, and it said "ask again later," so no help there
  15. If Frank is out for year definitely yes!!! even if he isn't I would love for the Sox to take a long look at him
  16. LOL, that's true, this is turning into a fiasco, I wonder if RJ will yell at reporters again today!!!
  17. I think Beltran would be an option no matter what happens with Frank, and Everett probably is only an option if Frank is out
  18. I agree with the point that nothing may happen. The guy on the Score pointed out that Arizona made a pretty bad deal for Sexon (sp?) and they either have to make a great deal for RJ or just stand-pat and not trade him
  19. Good point. I can see KW saying something like "after what we already gave up, I don't want to give up the rest of my system." Basically doesn't want to overypay.
  20. Good summary Illini!! Just wanted to add that he did think KW did a very good job in the Garcia deal.
  21. I noticed that the NY post article said that Sox may have traded away their best chips getting Garcia. I tend to think that's just east coast bias so it looks like NY has a better chance. I think teams still would want Anderson, Sweeny, Diaz, Rauch, Banjero, Honel (if he's healthy), and a couple others. Also, they contradict themselves by saying Arizona contacted the White Sox
  22. I know it sounds crazy, but I would like the Sox take a chance on Stairs. I wouldn't expect him to play everyday, but I think he's a better hitting Ross Gload. This is, of course, based on the crazy idea I have that Borchard will contribute something to the Sox this year!!
  23. I think there's a good possibility that NL teams have no chance to get him since he is signed for next year and Arizona would want him out of the NL completely. I think the Cubs are mentioned because of the prospects they have. I don't think the Mets have much of a chance to get him
  24. The one thing I really like about this story (if it's true) is that the White Sox are getting respect from other teams and players. I think it says a lot that the hottest name in trade talks is willing to waive his no-trade clause to come to the Sox. It also tells me that even though people say how the Sox have traded away all their minor league system, teams are still willing to talk to them about prospects!!! That just shows that the Sox scouts are doing a great job!!!
  25. Mike & Mike are reporting on ESPN Radio (no source given) that Johnson has listed 5 teams he would go to, they were the Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox, Angels, and Cubs Please merge or delete if posted elsewhere
